He glanced at his watch again...bah why must time pass so slowly? It was agonizing waiting for the students to arrive. Judging by the way the boss spoke it was apparent he felt the need to have the kids learn regardless if they really wanted to or not.
So he was waiting, as patiently as a man like him could. This was another larger class, though he wasn't too sad about that. He liked having more children come and learn from him. Sitting in his throne like chair at the head of the classroom he waited. Cane tip tapping against the floor in anticipation.

Shylock was wearing little more than tight jean shorts as he padded slowly into the classroom and greeted the teacher with a single waved hand. The teen's tail flicked a bit behind him as he walked and the boy looked obviously confident about his body.
Seating himself lightly on the back of a chair, he raised a brow at Zyane and grinned, "Sup, Prof?"

Bovidae wasn't far behind Shy in entering the class. He was much more dressed then Shy, but Shy's appearance didn't bother Bovi as he was used to Shy and how he chose to dress...or not dress as sometimes the case was. It was a warmer day, so no layers. It was just a polo shirt and some tasteful khaki shorts. Hair was of course as it always was, nothing new there.
"Good afternoon sir," he said in his normal gentlemanly manner before waving to Shylock. They had both grown since the last time they saw each other.
"It's nice to see you again Sky. I'm glad we're in the same class together."

Lirona stumbled into the classroom, looking more than a bit disheveled. After having gotten lost twice and fallen more times than she could count, she was very much ready to get this mysterious Focus class over with and get back home. It had been a tiring day. She smiled apologetically at the three other people in the classroom, waving a bit shyly. "H-Hello there. Um, th-this is the Focus class, right?" She prayed she was right.
As gold eyes scanned the room, they lit up when they spotted the more clothed of the two younger boys. Although she could not be sure, she spoke up questioningly. "Bovidae? Is that you? I-I'm Lirona, if you don't remember..." She couldn't help her eyes going appreciatively over him as she spoke. "Wow, you look different..."

All his students where here, excellent. Pushing up from his chair he cleared his throat and then tapped the floor once loudly with his cane.
"I am glad you have all made it, Miss if you'd please.." He stated as he gestured with the end of his cane for a spot for her to sit down.
"Class is about to begin after all. I am sure you can all catch up afterwards." He continued as he did a rather dramatic wave with his cape. He then moved to the chalk board, strange letters were strewn up on its black face.
"My name is Thaddeus Zyane. You will all call me Mr. Zyane." He explained as he wrote his name in large scrawl across the corner of it.
"Now before I begin, can anyone tell me what they think this class is about?"

Shy had just been greeting his friend when a new person showed up - some chick with a tentacle. Well he'd met a few of those and waved at her, trying to be polite. When she recognized Bovi, the teen nearly made a comment about his friend knowing everyone, but the teacher cut him off.
The young man didn't descend from his perch atop the back of the chair, but he could see fine. As the teacher wrote his name up, Shy groaned a bit. "Talk about confusinnng. My Dad's name is Zane, I am gonna get so messed up with names." he mumbled lightly, more to himself than anyone else.
The question posed, however, was an interesting one, "Dunno. Focusing? A focus? Something that has absolutely nothing to do with focus but is called that anyway?" well that covered most of the bases, right?

Bovi was about to respond to Lirona but the teacher seemed ready to begin the lesson, so he merely gave Lirona a head nod for now. They could chat later. He sat down in the seat and listened to Mr. Zayne as he posed the question.
"I think it may be a certain topic of which we are to focus upon? And seeing as the lab is hosting this class, I'd guess it's a topic within the labs themselves?" was his best guess with what information he had presented to him, which wasn't much really.

Lirona waved shyly to the other boy as she slunk to her seat, trying to go as unnoticed as a tall girl in super-gothic clothing could be. This certainly had been as awkward start. She didn't really like being in classes with other people. So much pressure...
At Mr. Zyane's question, Lira cocked her head as she thought. She listened as the other boys rattled off guesses, and she nodded after Bovi's, that seeming to make the most sense. It was true that 'Focus' was a very vague class name. She really hoped that it wasn't a class just about focusing; thanks to Mr. Fifth, she was already pretty good at that.

Zyane smiled at Shylock's reponse though it was a thin lipped one,
"Seems you have covered the bases as they say. The Focus class is in fact a class dedicated in having you learn about your DNA heritage as well about the world around you. " He explained as he went to look at the other two. He nodded his head to Bovi's explanation and then turned back to the board.
"There are a lot of things about the mortal realm you probably didn't realize existed. For example, the concept of heaven and hell are purely human ideals. The entrance to the celestial plain just happens to be more skyward and to the demonic one in the earths core.." He explained, he pointed to the lines he had drawn on the board. Four thick lines drawn horozontially across. He had written heaven at the upper most top part, mortal realm/earth in the second devided space. Then there was hell and at the very bottom, underworld. Beside each thick drawn line he wrote the words 'the void'.
"The world is divided up by invisible barriers, those barriers are used to keep those from hell and heaven out of the human world. In the past it was a thin barrier..and any creature from either plain could venture to the human world...the void now is much stronger, and protected by spectors to stop people from crossing."

Shylock refrained from commenting that he was being raised by an angel from another world and his husband, so the teen sort of already knew about the 'heaven/hell being ideals' thing. He leaned back a bit, trying to follow what this guy was talking about. Mr. Zyane did seem to be intelligent, though
"Good to know it's stronger." he commented idly, "Though that begs the question of how they got so many demons and angels clustered here."

((HolycrapIamsosorry...))
Bovi nodded at what his teacher was saying. That made sense. He too was interested in Shylock's question, but as it was already posed out loud there was no need to say anything else, just listen.

Lira's attention was captured when Mr. Zyane told them what the class actually was about. Learning about their heritage? Like, moreso than what meeting the parents had told them? She sat forward in her desk, and starting wishing that she'd thought to bring some paper. This was interesting.
When Mr. Zyane said that heaven and hell were human concepts, an involuntary smile spread across her face. Silas would be delighted to know that he was right all along, although she might have to edit out the part about the realms being divided. Her dad's ego was fragile enough as it is, and the whole point of telling him would be to boost it in the first place. Lira glanced over her outfit, then expertly extracted a loose thread and tied it around her finger. There. Now she'd remember for sure.
At the not-Bovi-boy's statement, Lira furrowed her brow in thought, as it was an interesting question. Half-unintentionally, she replied out loud. "Maybe they can come in if they have a guide or, uh... conduit of some sort?" A light blush dusted her cheeks, having not really wanted to speak her thoughts, but since it was said, she looked to her teacher for clarification.
