Cameron and Jake stood at the precipous of a mammoth cave with what had to be the worlds smallest entrance. It was barely tall enough for Cammi, let alone her much taller fiance. He looked at it like one does a needle before a shot before sighing and strapping on his headlight. "It widens out, right?"
"Thats what they said." She snapped hers in place, then pulled her hair back into a thick ponytail. Had it not been safe for their companions, the two would have explored the rest of the park, but this seemed like a cooler way to spend an evening. Literally.
Sybil sweated irritably on Jake's hip, arms wrapped around his dad's shoulders while Hsin took it easy on a rock wall. He kicked his mismatched legs out in front of him, crutches at the ready with his tail swaying around. "This is gonna be fun, right mom? Lots and lots of fun!"
"Sure is," She smiled. "You'll like it."
He laughed excitedly. "Is that why you have to have antenna too?" The toddler laughed again at the face she made. This was going to be so awesome!

Tamis stood behind his twin Tallis as she peered into the cave. A rush of cool air met the trio as they all made their way through one of the other entrances. "Oh, goodbye glorious heat." Phix sighed heavily which set Ember into a small fit of laughter.
"Oh come on, mommy!" She grinned, "It's not that bad. I think it's really cool down here."
"That's the bad part." Mumbled Phix, but Ember was already looking around. Shrugging the adult leaned against her twin and hunkered down into her baggy hoodie. "Be careful, Ember!" She frowned as the child slipped on ahead with her flashlight.
Ember peered at all the strange rock formations and laughed in delighted surprise as she startled bats from hiding with the light beam. "Sorry!" She whispered before turning around. What was that? Peering around a corner she squeaked in surprise at seeing other people.

Cameron grumbled irritably as she took another wrong turn and looked around, a dragon's roar bumbling in her tiny chest. "We're lost."
"Ahhh, Coma." Hsin leaned up against a wall, his crutches slipping on the stone floor. His arms were starting to hurt. "Your so bad."
Jake laughed, ruffling his eldest son's hair before walking over and passing Sybil off to his fiance. "He has a point." She huffed, bright flames blowing out her nose. "Hey, don't start that with me. We just need a patch of light or-"
A hoard of bats came bellowing out of the nearest tunnel, and he barely had enough time to pull them all down before they were attacked. While Hsin was scared, Sybil was screaming and nearly inconsolible.
"I wanna go home!" He cried, burying his face into Cameron's skull t-shirt. The Elian toddler looked up, sniffling and rubbing his glasses when he saw something bright with his head light. Something with wings. "Wook, wook. Over der!"
Cameron turned around and saw a little girl. "Hey twerp. Are you lost too?"

"Twerp?" Ember frowned thoughtfully as she studied the group. What was a twerp? "Umm...I'm Ember if that's what you mean!" She finally added with a laugh, "I'm not lost, I'm exploring! Plus, Tallis and Tamas know the way out of anyplace!"
Her wings fluttered closer to her as she felt a cool breeze on her back that made her finally turn around. Now where had her guardians gone? Ember pouted before shaking her head and pointing to the group, "Are you lost?"

"Tallis and Tamas? Are they who you're with?" Cameron resituated Sybil in her arms, trying to keep the nosy toddler from falling to the floor. She looked behind her, and frowned when she didn't see anyone. Maybe she'd run on ahead...?
Hsin nodded from his spot, his antenna's making a slight aura around him. The toddler got back on his crutches and wobbled up to Cameron's side. "Yep, sure are. Coma's hopeless- Yeow!"
He stumbled forward when Cameron cuffed him on the back of the head. When he looked back, he saw her snort, little puffs of steam coming out of her nose. "I'm not hopeless," she huffed. "Just....a little misplaced. If Tallis and Tamas know the way out, we should find them." Jake nodded, so she went on. "Can you show us where they are, Ember?"

"Yup! Phix I mean Tallis is my mommy." Ember looked around with a grin. The girl giggled at the comments before nodding again, "Well once I find 'em we can go. But they don't like the cold so they've been walkin' really-really slow." Tilting her head towards the ceiling she tried to remember if they were around the corner or not. Had she went that far on ahead that she couldn't hear her guardians conversation anymore?
"Though - " She looked around the cavern with wide eyes, "Aren't we supposed to be explorin'?" Ember nearly pouted. Why she had just gotten inside the cave and they wanted her to lead them outside? That wasn't fun.

"S'not cold, though. Feels really nice." Hsin nodded with an assuring smile.
Cameron had to agree, because caves were where she spent most of her nap time, but the fact was that this was still foreign to her. She looked to her fiance, bouncing Sybil on her hip. Might as well, hadn't they?
"'Upposed to be," Hsin piped in before Cammi. He approached the girl, albeit a little wobbly with his crutches and the uneven terrain. She really was cool - a lot cooler than his sister's, anyway. "We'll go toge'ver, dat way when we see dem, de'll know your otay." Then he turned back to Cammi. "Right?"
"Right."

"Not ta them!" Ember giggled, "Ya have to put them in a fire 'fore they feels warm." Her wings fluttered behind her as she bounced on both of her feet in an effort to keep her legs warm. Maybe she should've listened to Tamas and worn pants instead of her jumper. Ah well.
"Yup." Ember grinned at Hsin's agreement. She was up for exploring! Specially in such a cool place like this. "Kay, kay. What's your names?" She asked in a sing-song voice before walking along towards another tunnel in the cave and peeking in with her flashlight waving in front of her.

Jake watched Ember and pondered on whether the child was cold or not herself. He would have offered her Hsin's hoodie, but since she had those wings, he was more than positive that it wouldn't fit.
When Ember moved, so did the family, Hsin being at her side, leaning forward on his crutches. His antenna glowed just as bright as her light. "Name's Hsin. Dats Papa, Coma, and Sybil." He pointed to each one in turn, though Cammi rolled her eyes with an affectionate smirk. "Hey, how 'bout there?" Of course he would point to where the cave sloped downwards, growing smaller.
