His description of the 'colorful living rocks' called corals, 'underwater grass' called seaweed and the many living things that can only be found under the water's surface got her imagination running... Meeting him had sparked a new curiosity in Fleurite about the underwater world and its many inhabitants. Perhaps if she has enough information about it, she would be able to write a story about living underwater!
Smiling at the thought, the fluttercorn trotted through the beach, ignoring how uncomfortable the sand in her hoofs felt; she had learned from her first visit to the beach that sand has the ability to get everywhere on the body - from her hoofs to tail to mane and even on her pelt. The only way to get rid of it is to submerge herself in a stream far away from any sand, and let the water wash it away... However, seeing as she's going to be here for a while to search for anything interesting, that wash would have to wait.

The blue Seathi flitted around quickly in the water. The water was nice and warm today, thanks to the sun beaming down on it. Happy from this feeling he swims to the top just to feel the warmth as directly as possible.
Alcyone was happy that his color was close to the waters, that means it was hard for predators to come after him. The little bubble imprint on him also made it seem as if random air bubbles just pop by. Of course, the crabs tend to try and pinch Alcyone, but that doesn't bother him too much.
He decided to stay there until his son returned from food scrounging. Today was a small day to relax and enjoy what he could.

After some walking, Fleurite found herself looking wistfully at the ocean; the water looked cooling and standing under the sun was starting to give her a headache... Perhaps a dip in the water will do her some good? She won't go all the way in; she had heard stories of the tide being strong enough to sweep a grown Soquili out to sea, and she wasn't a very big mare! Besides, it did not seem like there would be anybody around to save her even if she were to scream for help; the beach was empty, and she could only see sand for miles ahead.
Trotting to the edge of the sea, she paused, hesitant to step in. The ocean wave came crashing onto the beach, sending water to splash on her hoofs and part of her leg. She shivered at the sudden splash of cold water before taking a few steps forward, holding her tail up above the waves in fear of getting it wet.
"Ah..." She sighed happily when she was submerged up to her knees; although she dare not venture in deeper, the cool water was helping her to cope with the heat. Kicking the water and sending a wave towards the ocean, she giggled; it would be just perfect if there was someone else around to play with now!

His body warmed up quite quickly, thanks to being cold blooded, so he felt energized now. Opening his eyes, Alcyone noticed something entering the water from the outside. He's heard about land Soquilli, but never actually saw one before. Maybe once or twice when they came swimming by, but he had quickly moved out of the way thinking that they were going to try and eat him.
These thoughts made him embarrassed now, but what can you say? Being a small shrimp in the sea was to be constantly alert at all times. But, he noticed that this time, no one was rushing towards or at him.
His long tail fin swished softly as he moved forward, allowing his head to reach up and out of the water to see what was above just the legs. That's when he noticed a black mare, with wings? They looked like fins, kind of... Maybe she was part Mer. He curiously swam forward, wondering and thinking that she doesn't look like she would harm him. And if she had an ulterior motives, he will just swim away quickly before she noticed him.

The soft sound of the waves crashing onto the beach was almost hypnotic, and Fleurite couldn't help but smile happily as she stared at the ocean. The last time she came, her attention was so focused on the mer Soquili that she did not take a good look at the ocean. However, now that there was nothing to distract her, she realized how the water seem to sparkle as the sunlight hits it... Its quite a marvelous sight, something she would not have seen if she had stayed inland.
Taking a few small steps forward into the water, she inhaled deeply, letting out a contented sigh; even the air smells different at the beach - it smells salty, just like the water here.
Just then, an unusual movement caught her eye; unlike the waves, this movement seemed rather random... Perhaps another sea creature? However, as she tried to move towards it, she realized that it was too far out for her to waddle through the water to it. It would be terrible if she gets swept out by the tide! Digging her hoofs into the moist sand, she paused, looking down at the foaming water swirling around her legs; since there is nobody else about, it doesn't hurt to try her luck right?
"H-Hello? Is someone there?" She called out, sounding hesitant as she blushed, feeling slightly silly; if there is nobody there, she would be shouting to the waves!

He had swum slowly, moved underwater as well...keeping a distance between them for fear of something actually hurting him. But noticed that nothing bad was happening so far. He looked down at the seaweed, watching it sway too and fro.
He stayed in his spot before his ears pick up a noise, it sounded like.. Speech? Hm, could the other be speaking to him or someone that's not in the water..? He didn't want to be seen as a fool for assuming incorrectly..., but he moved himself much more closer and lifted his head slightly above the water to make his presence known

She stared intently at the surface of the water, scanning it expectantly for some form of reply. Just as she was about to give up, something popped up from beneath the waves. She blinked, not knowing how to respond as she stared at it in surprise - she might had been expecting a reply, but this was simply... Unexpected. Taking a few slow, cautious steps forward, she looked hesitant as she lowered her head slightly to take a closer look at the stranger.
Although only part of the stranger was visible, she could tell that it was small from the size of its features - perhaps the size of a young foal, but no larger. Seeing that its submerged underwater, perhaps its a mer foal? How exciting!
"U-um..." She muttered, her tail swinging to rest beside her, curling around her hind leg as she tried to think of what to say. Clearing her throat, she maintained her lowered position in an attempt to get eye contact with the stranger. Unable to tell if its a male or female, she decided not to be specific as she finally found the words to continue, "Um... H-Hello? I won't h-hurt you..."

His head tilted to the side, curious as to what it was doing, the creature was very different to him, large.. still scary, but the voice seemed to be friendly. A ... friendly female voice...
Oh! So it must be a girl then, he huddled close slowly, but only keeping his head poked out from the water.. The little ears twitched on his head before he let out a small noise then began talking, but not looking at her eyes. "What are you, are you an enemy? Will you eat me?"
He shivered in though of that, there were so many thing that scared him in the sea, so on land there must be worse things here. Maybe there was a giant carnivore, maybe that's what she was. The fins on himself flitted as he lets out a scared neigh

"E-Eat you?" Fleurite exclaimed, her eyes widening as she shook her head, her face flustered as she continued, "No! No, of course not! W-W-Why would I want to do t-that?" She seemed rather taken aback by the small creature's suggestion; a frown on her lips as she shifted about on the sand, the waves making her fetlocks damp.
"I'm not a meat eater..." She lowered her head and muttered, more to herself than to the stranger. She then paused, looking up again before offering a small smile, "Um... A-Are you a mer foal?"

He pokes his head a little more out of water and blinks, ears twitching lightly. She said she doesn't eat meat, perhaps she was a friend... His fins wriggled slightlyt nad pushed him forward but not too much, so he may see more of the large animal. "You don't..? But you;re so much bigger, how can you live without eating meat?"
He was curious now, bigger things don't eat meat all the time, huh? He'll have to remembered that next time and try not to become so paranoid. "Mer foal? I'm not a foal! I'm fully groan and I've had children of my own." A snort left his nose and then a proud nod. He was proud of the little son and daughter he gave birth to, but the only one he still knew the locations of was his little boy.
"The bigger ones in the ocean, they call me 'Seathi' I'm not sure what it means... " Alcyone flitted around back and forth now.

She shook her head, and repeated herself with a firm nod, sounding a little more confident now that the air had been cleared, "I am not a meat-eater!" She then paused, blinking at the blue Soquili, "I'm b-big? Um... I guess maybe compared to you, b-b-but I'm actually s-small for a land Soquili... I eat grass and fruits to fill m-myself."
Fleurite managed a small smile; she was starting to be really curious about the sea Soquili... Her eyes widened, and her mouth dropped open a little at his comment, unable to hide her surprise, "Y-Y-You're a f-father? Um... B-But-" She wanted to say 'You're still so small', but realized that he had already stated that he was an adult... How peculiar! The underwater world is fascinating after all!
"A Seathi? So... T-that's different from a Mer..." She mused out loud before looking back down at the Seathi, a small smile on her lips as she bowed her head, "I'm a Fluttercorn - a mix between a Flutter and a Unicorn... Um, m-my name is Fleurite..."

Ah! A land soquilli, so that's what she was... something like himself, but born for the earth, not the water. Alcyone felt better from this and lifted himself up fully and neighed softly. "You are so much bigger! I am impressed, I eat fruit and grass too! But in the water they're seaweed and little anemone things.. Some taste delicious and sometimes they're gross..."
His ears twitched at the next coment, and grinned, his ears twitching. "Yes! I had them not too long ago. My sweet babies." He flitted around slightly and tilted his head. Flutter and Unicorn? Those sounded strange. He's never heard of those species before... but apparentally they mix well? "What exactly... what is a flutter unicorn?"
After becoming a bit distracted by the thoughts and wonders of what those species rare, he looks around at the grass and the trees. These weren't uncommon to him but the colors made Alcyone smile happily. "Fleurite, that's a nice name! Wow, Does it mean anything?? My name's Alcyone! I think it's a girl's name..." He pouts thinking about that now.

"Ah! Seaweed!" Fleurite looks excited as she nodded, recognizing the term, "I-I met a mer b-before, and he told m-me that it is like long, underwater grass! Supposed to b-be delicious..." She smiled a little, rather pleased with herself for remembering. However, she soon frowned, tilting her head as she blinked, curious about the other food item that the Seathi spoke of, "What's an ane... Anemoney? Anemone? I've never heard of it before..." She blushed; it was rather difficult to pronounce!
"W-wow! How many were t-there? D-do they s-stay with you?" Her eyes widened; he looked so happy and proud! She wiggled her wings, letting out a soft giggle; no matter what size they are and where they live, parents always seem to be proud of their children!
"Um... They have wings like mine," She turned her body to the side a little in order to allow Alycone to see her wings better. Wiggling them, she nodded and smiled, "Typically wings that look like they belong on insects... Oh! Flutters are also smaller than other types of Soquili, and can shrink to be as small as a butterfly in order to fly! They can't normally since they're heavy and their wings can't support their weight."
She then shook her head slowly at his question, looking thoughtful as she continued, "I'm n-not sure... Well, I think it means 'flower' in another language, but I could be wrong." Her eyes widened again as she lowered her head to look at the smaller Soquili better, finding the way he was able to move so freely in water fascinating, "Really? I think its a lovely name for a Seathi! Does it mean anything?"

"Yes that's exactly what it is!" He begins flitting around, exciting by thining of nibbling on some soon, but he turns his attention back on the mare, ears twitching lightly as he tilts his head. "Anemone! It is like.. um.." he frowns now and looks around on the land trying to find something that looked similar... But he couldn't find anything and now he's pouting softly and flicking his tail now. "It's... really soft and like.. it grows up in a big.. um, group? It's very bright! I think some fishes live there too..."
"Only two! I had a little girl and a boy, but I only live with my little boy. I don't know what happened to the mother or her daughter, but that's life! I met a lot of seathi's who don't know their parents either... I don't know mine! Do you?"
He now peers at her wings and he stares "They look like little fins..! But how small is a butterfly then?"
He smiles at this and nods. "Flower! I know what that is and you remind me of them a lot.. but my name just mean.. well, uh... I think it means it's a woman who turned into a bird... " His ears flop as he tries to recall this.. "Or it means calm..."
