Basic Information
The Weapon fires a double edged 6 oz stainless steel blade with cuts made in the center of the blade to reduce weight. The weapon was designed for close encounters or melee interactions to be met with a weapon that had slightly ranged capabilities. The weapon, although extremely lethal and effective at short ranges in soft tissue, is incapable of penetrating body armor, heavy winter clothing (lots of leather) or incapacitating or even penetrating targets at a distance. At ranges, such as 2 to 6 meters, the weapon becomes extremely effective, capable of penetrating roughly 6 inches of pine wood or 10 inches of ballistic gel, which translates to roughly 8 inches into a human body. While extremely lethal at close ranges, it far from long range weapon. The weapon is best exploited by firing the blade after a direct stab or slice, and can most tactically be exploited by pulling the trigger of the weapon on a failed stabbing or slicing attempt (say that the user misses the target by a few inches, and then pulls the trigger to deliver the final blow). The weapon, never intended as a long range projectile, instead provides a tactical advantage to the user, allowing the user to have the effective range of a long sword without the added weight or cumbersome effect. Basically, in melee confrontations, the weapon essentially transforms itself from a basic utility and combat knife into a weapon that has a 2-6 meter range, giving an extreme advantage to the user. While by no means a perfect weapon, the weapon does tend to serve as a decent and rather useful combat knife, as well as being capable of giving a tactical advantage of surprise, range, and extra power with the push of a button in melee combat scenarios. The blade is also at a decent sharpness in it's own right, being .5mm thick, and able to be used as non-ballistic weapon, or used as a normal combat knife.
