They have finally come out with a benchmark for you computer.

Depending on your score you can find out how well your computer can play xiv when it comes out. The site listed above has all the information that you need about reading the scores.
So what kinda of score did you get and what kinda system do you have if it did play well?
My score on this computer was.... well didn't get one cause it couldn't even run it >< but at this time im using the old crappy computer well my sister is using the nice one.

[3000-4499] Fairly High Performance was mine.
I know I can do far better than that though as I can run Aion at max settings with no problem as well as just about any other game on the market. I think its just all the s**t I've got on my comp, and the fact that I had a web browser open with some chats going at the same time.
I plan to wipe my PC soon anyway and try again.

I can only hear the cutscene and my number won't go above 0. lmao.. Which is funny because I told the people at best buy when I bought this computer to give me the best gaming PC that's cheap. gonk Xbox360 release plzthnx?.. (I guess I could get a PS3.. ../isbrokeass)

bah, i'm having no luck with running this either
first the zip file had an error
so i redownloaded it
then i got a missing .dll error
so i reinstalled direct x
then i got it to load the screen but it immediately goes from black to windows encountered an error, closing program thing.
how do i update my drivers, anyone know?
I've got a T5226 Desktop PC on vista >.<;

You know its not a good sign when the benchmark wont even run! I'm getting this for PS3 for sure now.

yea i'm going to have to get a ps3, or 2.. one for my BF. cheaper than upgrading my computer or buying a new one. i tried updating my drivers and that didn't go so well, ended up with an error when i restarted my computer.

I start up the program and am able to choose all of my options, but when it comes to running the sim afterward the program stops running. My computer basically says that it has stopped running and if I would like to manually shut it down.

Here's some updates for those that try to run the benchmark but are unable to.
I read through ALL the posts on the Beta forums (yes I'm in the beta), it seems the majority of those who couldnt run the benchmark did NOT have a NVIDIA or RADEON video graphics card. It seems at the moment XIV is only registering those cards (since it's in BETA) and it may or may not register others. Another things I noticed was you may not have DirectX 11 installed. Double check that.
Myself I had a very good PC I used for FFXI, I was able to run 3 POL IDs on Windower IN dynamis and not lag, but on the benchmark I only got 200. . . I then log onto FFXIV and I'm getting around 2fps LOL, so I went out and got a new computer with the RECCOMENDED specs (some higher). It didnt have an NVIDIA nor Radeon Graphics card so I bought a GTX 480 apart (expensive @.@), I did a test and tried to run FFXIV with the graphics card my PC had and it didn't run. I then installed my NVIDIA card and viola it works.
Scored 8203 game runs like a charm in max settings and looks beautiful in Fullscreen HDMI (pondering hooking up my PC to the 42inch in the living room)

I got a 2025. I'm just happy I can play it. I don't mind having to lower in game settings a bit.

(I guess I could get a PS3.. ../isbrokeass) Development for the Xbox 360 version has temporarily stopped due to Square Enix and Microsoft not being able to reach an agreement. I believe it's mostly on Microsoft though, because of their whole exclusivity thing. Also, do you know the specs of your computer? You should look at them and compare them to the minimum requirements. If they at least match those then you SHOULD be able to run the game. Maybe you can upgrade your system?

Costing me 1,520 dollars now...
