DeVey, Xavier: Slytherin 2nd year
Xavier DeVey peered into the room, unsure if anyone had stepped into in some time. An unused chess game, some dust on the chairs,..he shuddered at the thought of what could have gone on. Waving his wand and thinking to himself, 'Scorgify', the room returned to its former glory and he eyed the fireplace.

Brewing success one experiment at a time.

Coming back from a long class session, the second year took in the quietness of the common room. Although Slytherin was perceived as cutthroat and sneaky, the house as a whole were more likely closer, like a family; then the the other three houses.

United by the fears brought on by past events and the rumored history of their own house, much of Slytherin was united in the belief that they had only other snakes to commensurate and find support with. The house was still sporting a bruised and undeserved ego after the Voldemort battle.

It was too quiet for the common room. This was why, Xavier imagined, so many students from Slytherin went on to great things, only to leave Hogwarts in the dust. There was simply nothing that was keeping them here.

Iris sat down on the couch and read her a book she picked up in the Muggle world. City of Bones it read.

She was 100 pages into it when suddenly, her head started to ache. She couldn't focus on what she was reading. "I should go to Madame Pomfrey" she thought. But when she tried to get up, she couldn't. She struggled to get up but she just couldn't. It was like her mind wasn't controlling her body. It was almost as if some stronger force was holding her down. Eventually she just gave up. After a few minutes, her headache subsided and she could move again. "What was that?" she thought. She stretched her args and legs to make sure she was okay then resumed reading her book without another thought.
