Timeline

2012: DataGene creates the first cheap, and worldwide available flu vaccine
2013: Sterility rates of men and women in highly developed countries sky rocket
2020: World wide Sterile Plague spreads. Only 1 in 1000 unborn fetuses reach their second trimester
2025: The Sterile Plague becomes fully active in all countries and is successfully linked to DataGene's vaccine
2026: DataGene begins research on a cure for the Sterile Plague
2030: Cure administered across all major countries.
2035: Sterility rates drop. The "World Wide Baby Boom"
2050: Mass epidemic disease spreads known as the Acute Virus across nearly all youth born after the Sterile Plague
2051-60: Countless youths afflicted with the Acute Virus die. Ten minutes after death, they come back to life as flesh eating zombies. Headlines across the world read: "The Dead Walk!"

Introduction

Welcome to sunny and (relatively) safe Las Vegas. The year is is 2065, and basically the whole world's gone to zombie hell. An emergency beacon from the Data Gene headquarters in Las Vegas has been sending out an S.O.S. signal on all radio frequencies for the past month. Whatever your reasons, sinister or paragon, you decided to go there.



So, lemme give you a quick rundown about how this environment is going to work. Notice that choice of words; Sin Sands isn't really an RP as much as it is an empty environment. You've got your lovely little inciting incident right above this, but it's your job to give our decrepit Las Vegas some depth. Along with your character submission, you'll be submitting a little chunk of plot as well, unless your character is meant to fit into a plot listed in the below section.



This is a "sandbox" RP if you would (pun intended). So keep in mind that almost anything can happen. Feel free to add some deep plot twists, so long as you don't screw up another person's storyline.

The Fortress:
There are rumors that DataGene employees are still alive and bunkered within the DataGene headquarters. They say that DataGene already has a cure for the Acute Virus distributed amongst the bunkered employees. The question is, where are the headquarters exactly? Supposedly there's an entrance to DataGene's secret headquarters somewhere underneath the rubble of the Luxor casino. Problem is anyone who gets close to the facility is promptly shot at by a series of turrets manned by a shadow of a figure nicknamed The Guardian.

King of the Sandbox:
Las Vegas is the last habitable spot on the continent. It might have been taken over by the desert, but there are still supplies buried everywhere, and the abandoned casinos are the best shelter one can find these days. Problem is, that certain gangs and families want to own all of the land and supplies that Las Vegas has to offer, and they are all willing to kill for their dominance.

1: Regarding Writing

1.1: Keep this RP rated PG-13. Don't know what that means? Don't bother applying.
1.2: Post with complete sentences.
1.3: Keep all OOC chat within brackets, braces, or parenthesis. EG: ((OOC s**t goes here)).
1.4: No emoticons outside of OOC chat.

2: Regarding Characters and Character Interaction

2.1 You must apply with a character app (below) PM'ed to me with the title "Chunky" to prove you read these rules.
2.2 Don't complain that your character wasn't accepted and I promise to message you back with what needs to be changed about the character.
2.3 Characters must be reasonable for the context of the RP.
2.4 No nekos. I might allow certain non-human creatures within this RP, but for the love of god no nekos.
2.5 No superhuman abilities.
2.6 NO GODMODDING! Jesus Christ, do I really need to explain that one?
2.7 All characters must have a different post color.
2.8 Be realistic with the amounts of weapons your character carries. One melee weapon, knives, bats... swords *sigh* etc. and one primary weapon, such as a gun. No more. Doesn't mean that you won't find more toys to play with later in the game though.

3: Regarding the Authors

3.1 No F#$&#xin;g cybering!
3.2 No flaming another author for lack of ability or posting style. Only I get to do that.
3.3 No whining!

Androginy

The Guardian (Seth)
Gender: Male
Age: Appears 21
Provocation: He lives in the DataGene headquarters.
Weapons: Able to manipulate DataGene's self defenses when within the DataGene complex.
History: Publicly, nothing is known about The Guardian. However, this creature was human, at one point. He was the son of a lead researcher that worked on DataGene's cure for the Sterile Plague. He was born after the cure was administered. Unlike the survivors of the Acute Virus, Seth is still infected. His suit is a complicated life support system created by his father. He now stands at a constant twilight between life and death. Normally his father would be able to do repairs on his suit, however for the past five years that man has been dead. Already Seth's suit has started to deteriorate, and he most likely has no more than a year to live as a quasi-human.
Personality: Seth is reserved, silent, and fiercely protective over his territory.

Glitch (Gary Colt)
Gender:Male
Age:19
Provocation: There are rumors that DataGene employees are still alive and bunkered within the DataGene headquarters. He's looking for his sister, a DataGene employee.
Weapons:A GP 35 holstered at the small of his back.
History: Glitch grew up with his single father, a sergeant major of the US army. Needless to say, from the time he was 12, Glitch knew how to operate a gun and a hand grenade without fail or hesitation. He never connected with his dad as a father figure, though he always had a strong mother figure embodied with his sister who was 7 years older than he was.
Personality:Despite his appearance, Glitch is genuinely compassionate. He's reserved, though open to anyone who opens up to him.
