The sun slowly began its descent from its mid point in the sky on that sunny afternoon, perfect weather for a stroll. Having nothing to do that day since she could only assume her son was out socializing, Nariko was training or following that fellow around some more and Jerome was back at his pod; the vixen found she could no longer sit at home while the world passed her by.

It was on a day like today where she didn't feel the need to dress up as formally as she normally wood; weeks of disrupted and disturbing dreams began to take a toll on her appearance. Once warm chocolate orbs seemed distant and tired, as she kept her long hair up in a few looping buns. It was so pleasant out with the birds singing and the faint breeze....yet she couldn't help but feel a certian lonliness set in. Her children were all grown up and finding their own paths in life....it was a hefty reminder of her childhood watching everyone up and go while she was left behind.

"Come on Koyuki...don't think like that!" She shook her head, before finding herself in a clearing she wasn't familliar with, but had a beautiful lilac tree with such crisp white flowers blooming at the top. Walking over and looking up, she closed her eyes and took in a amazing aroma they gave off.

Jerome was pretty aloof. After his kids had grown, he tried to peak their interests in grown up like things. But before he knew it his daughter had taken training by herself and his son took up.......something else. He was never sure what as he could never find him anymore.

Regardless, Jerome spent a lot of his time wandering the forests or repairing his pod to keep his AI happy. Every now and then he would try to see Koyuki, but some of his forest ventures kept him away weeks at a time. Usually searching for strange anomalous that could keep him occupied or lost foxes who came to the island, but went the wrong way. This venture was one of those long ones, where he traveled over the mountains and to the ocean, then back. One his way back he picked some rare flowers that grow in the mountain cliffs, and was going to surprise Koyuki with them.

He approached he window, and peered through to see if she was there. No one.

He took a few steps back and cupped his paws to his muzzle. "KOYUKI!! ARE YOU THERE?" he shouted, but still no answer. Puzzled, he walked over to a stump and sat down. Koyuki never left home...at least not to far from where she couldn't hear him. He removed his helmet and scratched his head before putting his helmet down. "Wonder where she is?" he said to himself, looking around to see if she could be seen

Perhaps if she had not been quietly standing in the clearing to take in all that was around her in a zen like state; the distant echo could have been completely missed by even the softest rustles of her kimono in the grass. Yet as her ears perked from her dark locks and strained to see if it was her imagination or actually her beloved. "Could it be...?" The vixen whispered as she turned her body back towards the house....should she get her hopes up he was around?

Why not....no one was around to question why she was yelling out anyways! Lifting her head she mimiced his moves unintentionally bu cupping her paws around her mouth. "Jerome!? Jerome!" She yelled twice....hoping the second would give off her direction.

Already she could feel the gentle thudding of her heart in an innocent anticipation. It had been a while, and as much as she didn't want to set herself up if the call went unheard....she was always the hopeful dreamer. Holding one paw to her kimono collar, her ears and eyes remained alert for any approaching sounds.

His ears perked up. From far away he heard the sounds of running, then his name being called in an ever familiar voice. Perhaps she did hear him after all.

He stood up abruptly, letting his helmet fall to the ground. He also shirked the back pack which he carried with him on his journeys.

"Koyuki!" He called out again as he too started to run towards the voice of what he was sure to be his mate

It was him! He was back! As if she could take off into the skies she picked up the sides of her kimono with her paws and broke out in a run; a silly grin crossing her face. Twisting around trees and ducking under low branches she enjoyed the sensation of the wind in her hair.

Breaking through the foliage of the next clearing she could see the large brute of a spartan break through across the way; wasting no time in closing that space before nearly throwing herself into his arms with a gleeful squeak. "Jerome! You're back!" She breathed, nuzzling her head into his armor to breathe in that scent (albiet it being metal) that was him....and she wouldn't have changed it for the world.

"When did you get back..?"

Seeing his beloved and their fast approach for one another, he opened his arms, just in time to get pounced. He lost his balance and crashed to the ground, but no harm in that.

"ah..my Koyuki. How I've missed you." he said as he tenderly held her, but kept a firm grasp around her waist. Immediately his nose was filled with the sweet aroma of her hair, something he always cherished.

"Just now." he said as he leaned on of of his elbows, reaching for the vibrant bouquet of mountain flowers he had picked for you. "I brought these for you." he said with a grin on his face. Boy was he happy to see her again. He could feel the tip of his tail wagging frantically

Toppling to the ground she laughed merrily as he cushioned her fall, not that he would feel her anyways from the sheer difference between them. Looking down to the face of her love, she reached out a paw to place on his cheek as a loving smile crossed her face. "Oh Jerome....I've missed you too."

If her day couldn't have gotten any better, she gave a puzzled look before following his hand with a surprised gasp. "Really! For me...? You shouldn't have..." Sitting up she reached for the flowers and brought them up to her nose to take in their lovely scents and beauty. It was incredibly romantic of him, and she hoped he would notice it in her eyes. "They are so beautiful."

Placing her free paw on the ground she leaned down to give him a tender kiss, pulling back to rest her nose on his. "Thank you....how was your trip though, this one sure was longer.."

He couldn't help but feel pride and happiness swell as she took the flowers and immediately was pleased by them. Grinning from ear to ear, He sat up with her, to receive the soft kiss that only made him blush ever so slightly

"It was long, but it was just to the beach and back. I've heard rumors of something mysterious lurking around water." he said as he sat crosslegged despite the hefty armor, unable to take his eyes of his mate

Once her mate had sat up, she curled into his torso while her tail found its way around his waist; perfectly content to sit there forever if need be. She held the flowers carefully on her lap to keep them from being damaged and listened to what he had to say.

"The beach you say? How is it?" Immediately she was curious, still amazed he could make it there in the time he did probably going slow. She still yearned to see the ocean, but wasn't in much of a hurry after she caught what he had to say next. "Mysterious? You know...I heard Kay talking about keeping her eye open for another strange thing....I wonder if its the same thing since something fell from the sky and landed in the woods!" The thought of more aliens, one like Arbiter anyways wasn't such a pleasant thought....but she couldn't help the curiosity which laced her vocals.

Absently the vixen stifled a yawn, shaking her head to rid herself of any sleepyness which threatened to ruin her time with Jerome. "Did you find anything..?"

He sat and held her gently. From a distance the two looked more like siblings than a couple in love, but to hell with size differences. He could care less.

"It was nice. I wish I could have taken you. The water was pleasant, even though the beach is abandoned because of the sightings." He nodded, still wishing he could at least take her there someday, if not soon. "Kay? Did she by chance get her intel from local police? They were the ones who sent me to the beach in the first place. Said strange radioactive energy signatures were riddled around the area, and footprints like no other as well." he explained answering basically 2 questions in one.

He noticed the stifle yawn and tilted his head. "Are you tired already? Or has it been a long day?" he asked calmly. If she was tired, he didn't want to linger and pester her too much

"It sounds so lovely!" Koyuki sighed dreamily, imagining the beach from the pictures and descriptions, but made sure to listen while she might have been viewing her own little world.

"Oh! Yes! Thats where..." Koyuki couldn't help but chuckle, finding humor in just how small a world it could be sometimes. "I see, I do remember her saying how they were going to try a search....your trip makes more sense now." It was true she wasn't sure where he went all the time, but she had utmost faith that she didn't have to worry about him running off on her. He gave her no reason, even through life thus far that he wasn't interested in more. "Thats very strange though....I hope its nothing too dangerous; that the last thing this place needs."

However, a clearly obvious look of fret began to surface on her face, concerned he would leave already. "N-n-no! Tired...a little but i'm fine! Besides, even if it was in the middle of the night i'd fight off sleep for any time with you I can get." A tiny smile once more curled on her lips, holding the flowers close as she shot a look up to him.

"I'll have to take you someday...when it's safe of course" he remarked nodding his head again.

"I wish this thing, whatever it is wasn't dangerous either...but we've already found evidence of.........." He decided to cut off there as not to further ruin any romantic moment they have. There would be time for that later.

"Well if your sure. I won't be leaving for a while. Storms are causing the investigation to a halt, so I'll be sticking around more...if of course you don't mind" he beamed once more, making sure to give her a small hug before hearing her decision

"I would love it....since as fun as it is to be interrupted..." A gentle chuckle rose from her throat, fondly remembering their earlier stages of the relationship when they couldn't catch a single break it seemed! However that gaze dropped for a few moments on the realization that whatever had fallen....was far from good then. Jerome didn't need to finish his sentence for her to suspect the worst.

Yet she was happy to drop it for the time being as her smile returned, nodding eagerly. "Of course I am....I wouldn't miss anything with you; and thats the truth! It'll be so nice to have you back around...maybe we can even get the kids to come visit too if we can find them..." She mused, knowing full well between her ever curious optimism and his sense of exploration they'd created wandering fiends. Not that she didn't appreciate the along time either as she allowed her paws to run across his dirty armor. "I will just be glad to treasure more time with you before you...head off once more."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 15, 2010 2:37 am

"We'll go then. Someday" He said with a grin on his face. Obviously now was not the time, but there would be a day when the beach wasn't haunted by a thing that made a habit of finding victims.

Then she mentioned the kids and all thoughts broke free. "How are the kids. I haven't seen them since they've grown" he inquired. He wished he could have been around for them more, but he was sure that someday soon she would want more, and he would do anything to see her happy, even if it meant her unfortunate month of being unable to move. And of course all the pregnancy things she would demand. Watermelons and all

"I will hold it to you Jerome..." The vixen returned his grin with a coy wink of her own; still remembering their talk about plans of the future and dreams which seemed like not so long ago.

"The kids?" Koyuki blinked, before offering a bit of a laugh and leaned comfortably against her mate. "Well from when I last saw Bryyo when he came to visit he was spending time at the shop; being social and seeing the sights. I spent time with Nariko and....ah....her aquaintance last week. An ODST from what I gathered, and oh love....they are so alike it is pretty funny; but you know our daughter. Im not sure what will come out of them, but she is pretty curious to learn more of his profession. Otherwise...they are healthy and well; and miss you of course." She would have added 'just like me' but hell, she knew he was aware. "They have grown into such fine adults in the blink of an eye." She sighed quite happily, feeling peaceful in his presence.
