Jezibelle had been staying with Aponi at her teepee high in the mountains for quite some time now. It was very much different than when she had lived in the Kawani Village with a family that had practically forgotten her. She enjoyed the fresh air and the sounds of the forest much more than at her former home - if she would call it that. Jezi had even taken a liking to the two-legged that had taken her in. She was different from the rest in attitude and appearance. Aponi often gave her the distance she needed.

One thing still nagged at the back of the small usdia's thoughts...it was her parents. She was so young when they seperated her from them. Jezibelle could hardly remember that day, it was like a shadow of a memory. The world was so scary and loud as she was walked through the village, her parents taken in the opposite direction. Soon her lead exchanged hands and from then on it was to be like that, always changing homes and owners.

Jezibelle glanced back at the teepee, she saw Aponi cooking a mid-day meal. She sauntered off aways, double-checking to see if the human noticed but the woman never lifted her head.

The usdia couldn't see the small smile on Aponi's face, she knew but she let her go knowing Jezibelle would be back. She had expected it eventually.

Thinking she had gotten past her newest owner without being seen, the mare started to trot down the mountain. It was a difficult climb up and to find the hidden path even more so. But she had paid attention as she was led up to the teepee. It was a treacherous climb down a sheer rock face covered in foliage, so finding those safe steps were crucial.

Jezibelle managed to get down and started running towards the village. She was at least a few hours away, and it was nightfall by the time she came to her destination. Smoke filled the night sky and families were out enjoying the mild weather singing and telling stories. The mare was unsure of where to start searching, so she wandered the maze of teepees until one would stand out in her memory. Nothing looked familiar from when she was a foal. She sat on her haunches and hung her head sadly. "Now what?" She said out loud.

Tranquility didn't often go to the village, as a matter of fact this was her first time ever being there. The two leggers usually came to her, and that was all good. Not that she expected them too. But she decided it was time to repay the visits and see where it was they lived and such. She had spent the day there. And she was rather tired. There was no way she could make it back to her mountain shrine at a decent hour, nor would it be safe to be out at night.

She weaved her way slowly through the teepees and people, looking for somewhere to lay her head, but that wouldn't end up being the case. As she was passing by, her ears caught the voice of a disappointed mare. Even if she was tired, she turned and made her way toward her.

"It would seem that you are troubled by something?" She addressed the Usdia.

Jezi was startled by the mare. She hadn't expected anyone to hear her, or notice her. The usdia appeared nice enough but she was unsure if she should fully open up to a stranger. Then again how else did she expect to get some answers. "Oh yes." She quickly stood up and faced the mare.

"I'm Jezibelle." She quickly introduced herself then hurried on as to why she was there. "I'm looking for some answers...about my parents. I was traded to a family of two-leggeds here in this village as a foal and I never knew what became of my family. Sadly I can't remember much of them, only that they looked a lot like me."

It seemed silly even to her, but she was hopeful that this usdia would know something, anything.

The mares eagerness made Tranquility smile. She often had to counsel others into talk to her. "Is that so? Have you spoken with the other horses here?" She asked. She herself didn't know the answers she was looking for, but the local horses might know. though she might have to talk to some of the older ones.

Tranquility walked closer to the mare. "I can help you talk with them if you'd like."

"No I haven't. I was trying to see if I could remember where I first came to this village but much has changed over the years. Thank you so much I really do need the help."

Jezibelle really did need the help, she had been quite the social outcast in the village and tended to be awkward when talking with the horses of the village.

"Where shall we start then?" she asked with a smile and renewed hope.

"I think the best place to start would be to talk with the older horses. They were likely to be here when you were young, more so then the younger ones." She nodded, looking around. Older horses tended to gather together, and have circles. But the issue was now to find the circle. Somewhere slightly off the mainstream path.

"Lets try looking this way." Tranquility gave the other mare a smile, and she started off between teepees, her eyes looking for a gathering of horses.

Jezi just nodded and trotted behind her rescuer. It was a bit scary to think about speaking with some of the other horses from the village. She had always been awkward around her neighbors, never seeming to fit in just right.

They moved between some teepees, and in the growing dark she thought she caught a glimpse of movement. When she took a double-take she saw nothing out of the ordinary. Jezibelle just shrugged it off as nerves and continued on with the usdia.

It didn't take long for her to friend the older usdia of the village. Like she thought, they kept to themselves in an off beaten location. Most likely to complain about the young ones, and their fashion or behavior. With a sign of respect Tranquility was allowed to approach them, and she talked with them, explaining the other mares story, and what they were looking for.

The other horses would look at Jazi, and then mutter something here and there, as they tried to figure out if they had the right horses on mind.

(I don't remember if you wanted her to find answers or not. if you could let me know what you'd like her to find out, I can include it in the next post)

The brown spotted mare stood aside and watched the usdia walk towards the older usdia. She admired Tranquility's respect for them. She noted the many glances the elders gave her. Her hopes rose with each glance, she was nearly certain they had heard of her parents.

Jezibelle wanted to join her new companion and hear what the others were saying, but she remained where she was. It was difficult. Truthfully, all she really hoped for was to hear that her parents had lived a happy life in some far village. A life much different than her 'previous' one.

Tranquility came back and she mulled over the information. "They generally remember you're parents. But not much else. They think they were taken to a neighboring village. But they don't remember them being in distress." Tranquility smiled some. She hoped that was good information. But... there were a few neighboring villages and who knows, by now they were probably very old...

Jezibelle nodded silently. It was good news compared to some of the things she had been thinking. A part of her was ready to drop her quest, "Thank you. You've helped me out so much more than I could ever ask."

With that she sighed and turned, slinking off between a line of teepees. She kept her eyes on the ground when she could feel the beginning burning sensation of tears. She wouldn't dare cry. It was a good thing she had learned.

While the mare was distracted with her own thoughts, she never saw the man with the rope. He looped it over her neck and tugged tight, and just like that she was captured. Jezi neighed in alarm as she was tugged off towards the woods. Her struggle and panic suddenly left her breathless and she collapsed, only to be dragged off anyways.

Tranquility had quietly followed the mare. She didn't want her to be left alone, and it was then that she saw the two legger snatch her. She had never seen such a thing, nor expected that of the two leggers. She fell back into the shadows, and moved to follow after them carefully, needing to free the mare.

Jezibelle awoke tied up to a post in a small camp somewhere surrounded by trees. She looked around to see a few two-leggers - they didn't look like the people from the village - huddled around it.

She dropped her head and lowered her eyes, hoping that they hadn't notice her. She scanned the trees trying to figure out where she had been taken. A few small puffs of smoke rose above the treetops in the distance - most likely from the village. Jezi assumed she was in the forest perhaps even as far as the foothills.

The brown mare tugged at her rope ever so slightly, hoping to discover it looser than it looked. She was sorely disappointed when it tightened. She stayed as still as possible for hours until the fire had burned down to just a few glowing embers, and the humans retired to their strangely shaped teepees.

Quietly she stood up and tugged once again on the rope. The same results. Jezibelle tried to chew through the rope but it proved to be too thick. She tried pushing the post out of the ground but nothing worked. She was stuck...

Tranquility snuck her way over to the other mare with the same idea in mind. She hushed her, some... This was a rather dangerous situation. The mare looked around, and needed find to the something to cut through the rope. She found something the two leggers used, it was sharp and she did her best to use it in a sawing motion. It took a rather long time for her to cut through it. But when she did, it was a relief, and she tried to usher the other mare out.
