Chatroom roleplays...I dont understand them DX Most I've seen have the post as 70% Pictures, 25%, 5% dialog... and these are long post! How do they work? Is it only conversations like they would have on AIM? Just want to gather more information on them is all since I can't really find any in the threads >///>

This pickled vegetable...Do you mean chatroom or forum? Because, yes, chatroom RPs are exactly like IM RPs. Forum RPs, however, have more story and depth to them while chat and IM are more like LARPs. ... could kick your a** !!

I mean Chatroom rp's ^^ I see a lot of crossover ones in the Series catagory in Barton but personally I just haven't seen any with a real story or anything... I wouldn't want to knock it before trying it though.

It's like talking normally as you would to someone on Aim or a chat room, but instead of talking as yourself your talking and role playing in character. For example, it would be like me and you talking in a chat box katty, but instead of talking as ourselves we would be talking as Hope and Magii. The difference between a chat rp and a forum rp is that a forum rp has more depth and lasts longer as well as more organization, while chats are temporary things that only last a little while.
However, thats not always true. My first role playing experience was actually in a chat room on myspace. It was a multitude of chat rooms in one general category. Someone was role playing as a child that seemed to be lost and his "father" jumped in the chat room and found him, and proceeded to carry him to another room on his shoulders. It was a real "wtf" experience for me lol.
As I got more curious I slowly got sucked into the world of role play, I discovered that it had evolved to where myspacers had even developed their own system of fighting styles specifically modeled for chats, and people had branched off into "families". There was a lot of feuding between families, and people married, divorced, had children and even died. It was where I was introduced to races like nekos and the like, and people had even developed a system of "collaring" where if you beat someone in a battle, they could put their collar on you and you'd have to obey them.
One of the good things that I like about chat rping is that you aren't limited to waiting for someone to post to reply. You get online whenever you want, and if that person happens to be online the story begins once again, and if not, there are others online. And while your not online, things are happening as we speak. Unfortunately, the myspace chat rooms were shut down, but I'll never forget that experience, because it put me where I am today.
The fighting concept is really interesting, so if anyone wants to hear I'll explain as best as I can remember. I hope that kind of helps, I'm not sure if that was what you guys where asking about specifically, or if I'm completely off the mark, but I'm glad I could feel nostalgic for a little while ^^;

Sounds like a great way to get into roleplaying, Tenro!
Do explain the fighting concept... I would be interested in learning about it! Also, that collaring idea sounds fascinating... maybe we should use it in some future roleplay?
