It wasn't easy wiggling her way out from under Shiloh's nose, for the attatched yearling followed her nearly every where she went! At first she hadn't minded, it was easier to keep an eye on him that way, but she had grown increasingly frustrated with the behavior in the past couple of days. Scar was as healed as she was ever going to be, and close to top opperating condition, which in her mind meant it was time to do what she had longed for- craaaved with every ounce of desire left in her once and for all. There was a certain little chestnut mare that had a bit of an a** beating coming her way, and Scar was not keen to forget the near lethal betrayal that had gotten her so messed up in the first place. Scar was so intent on tracking down Desmona, that she hadn't even realized how close to the mountains she had gotten!
Even now her mind absolutely refused to believe the potential dangers that lay in wait in this area, as her fury boiled and seethed to the top. It had taken months for her to move without feeling pain, to be able to run and kick and bite and scream with such passion as she use to, and even now her hide bore a permanent reminder of that little twit's betrayal. Her body would never be the same, once young and untouched now riddled with disfiguring scars. Even her tail was a mess! Large chunks of hair were missing, to the point where the nub at the end was visable when she swished it- just as he was doing now. As Scar plodded forward, ears laid back almost permenatly for the entire trip and tail lashing out every once in awhile in an aggitated fashion, she all but forgot the tales of the 'Hell Herd' she had been warned about so long ago.

Rowan was very annoyed today. Well in actuality he had been annoyed ever since that worthless twit Vengeance had come back to the herd. And what was worse, Thanos had made him a beta! Vengeance was the furthest thing from beta material in Rowan's mind, hell even Thanos' son would have probably done a better job at being beta than that grey stallion ever could do, and the colt was dead! Or at least the herd believed the colt was dead as no one had seen or heard of him since he was ran off so long ago.
To make matters worse for Rowan not only did Vengeance get to become a beta but then he went and had foals when that silly black mare he brought along with him, so now the stallion spend more time with his 'family' than he did doing his job. If Rowan wasn't so loyal to Thanos and his plans he would have left the second Vengeance got back. Coming to a stop at the top of a rise Rowan's eyes glanced upon the area below. His foot stamped in frustration as all those thoughts continued to torment him. He would have twice as much work now, not that he particularly minded, but why should he do Vengeance's work as well. Ears flicked for a moment, no he wouldn't do his work anymore, the slacker grey stallion could explain to Thanos why he didn't do patrols like he was supposed to in favor of spending time with his spawn.
All those thoughts came to a grinding halt when he spotting a horses approaching. Still a bit too far away to see just who it was. Finally something to do other than constant mind numbing border checks and avoiding all the blasted foals. Rowan let out a whinny that was somewhat threatening in tone before galloping towards the offending horse. If he was lucky it would be an outsider to torment, but if it was a herd member well he could yell at them for whatever it was they were doing now.

As Scar continued her gradual assent up the side of the mountains, engulfed in the prison of her own thoughts, a cry shot out from the silence of the wilderness. One her instincts recognised to a flaw, and demanded an answer to be made. There was no thinking on Scar's part, she hardly even processed hearing the whinny before her body replied. In an instant Scar's body twisted and lurched forward, forehooves striking out against the air in front of her as her neck bent and arched in such a manner it could have been deemed reckless. A cry also left her lungs in answer to the whinny, as lurched and jumped forward once more, yellow eyes rolling white as her flaxen mane danced wildly about her face.
The mare hadn't even seen the horse that had first made the threat, hadn't been aware that someone was in the area, but now that her mind had caught up to her body... and her temper, the mare forced herself to stop her violent tirade before she went charging blindly in the direction. Scar wasn't sure what happened, it was as if upon hearing the threat her instincts immedately set off. It scared her now that she thought about it, and yet her body still told her answer this threat with violence. Her instinct screamed and cursed for action, demanding retribution for what it believed to be an offense. She imagined hearing How DARE someone challenge me! and snorted at such silliness.
Every bit of her was visablly tense as wild white-rimmed eyes looked about for the owner of the whinny, and spotted the galloping palomino. It had been so long since she first met Rowan, she'd hardly thought about the 'hell herd' at all since her near death experiance. So when she saw it was him who approached her, the mare couldn't help but throw her head back to snort in a disarming manner, almost humorously. "Fantastic!" she called both sarcastic and genuine, eyes still rolling as she pranced in a tensed fashion. She hadn't gone more than a few hours away from Shiloh, and now the crazies were popping out of the woodwork! ... Her own included.

Rowan watched the mare kick out at a seemingly invisible foe as he got closer. How very interesting. He knew that some of the horses in the herd were a bit off in the head but this one seemed to take it to a whole other level. As he got closer he slowed his pace taking in the chestnut pelt which seemed to be absolutely riddled with scars. Even more interesting. However,t here was something oddly familiar about this mare now that he got a better look at her, though this very moment he couldn't figure out who she was or when he had previously seen her.
Bringing himself to a stop Rowan let his eyes roam over the scarred pelt once more. Seemed like whatever did this to her had clearly failed at killing the mare, but merely scarred her for life. Then his eyes settled on her coldly. "What are you doing here?" He demanded in his raspy voice. "These are the lands of the Hell Herd." Rowan was certain this mare was not part of the herd, even if she did look like she belonged with them.

His voice, and more paticularly the sound of it, grated on her ears and the mare flicked them back and forth as if trying to rid herself of it. She wasn't sure what it was, but ever since the incident certain tones and pitches just gave her a feeling of unease. Probably because one of her ears had been partly bitten off... it kinda made sense for it to be sensitive she supposed. Besides this, the mare was still very tense, with certain muscles on her body and legs bunching and unbunching, making it seem as though she were undecided in some manner. Scar flicked her tail in annoyance to her own behaviors, and snorted once more to try and rein herself in to the situation in a sane fashion. Though the longer she duadled here, the better the chance Shiloh might show up, and even worse, the longer she had to wait to find Desmona. Now THAT was an unsettling thought.
The mare turned her full attention back to Rowan, remembering him clear as day from the last time they met. Ah, the good ol' hell herd line, he was still feeding that sort of nonsens- wait a minute. There seemed to be something she was forgetting from the last time she was here. Something important. She inhaled to snort once more and a certain scent on the wind clicked in her mind. Death, rot, and decomposition. Oh. Ooooh. Crap! "Figures, I would have wandered into the freaking hell herd territory", she moaned, clearly remembering her vow to heed his words and stay away from it. Another aggitated flick of her tail and Scar relaxed her muscles, lowering her head in an exasperated sigh. Nothing she could do about that now.
Her nose pinched as her nostrils flared, "I'll be off soon enough, just keep your cool", she grumpt, shooting a guarded look to the palomino. "I've said it once and I'll say it again- I'll be sure to kill you first if you so much as try anything." She glanced around, now which way was out again? Really it was her fault for being here, she recognised that, but the last thing Scar wanted right now was to wind up getting injured over something as stupid as this. At least before she got the chance to take care of the back-stabbing nag who did this to her. After that? Well, she'd tangle with just about anyone if it suited her.

Rowan's ear flicked at the mares words. Part of him wanted to laugh at the way she had said that. It would seem that the reputation of the herd still was spreading through the land. Good, he thought, the herd needed to still be feared, even if they did do nothing yet. As he looked her over he couldn't help but wonder just who she was. She looked so damned familiar to him, but his mind just couldn't put it together just yet. He knew this mare, that was for sure, but something had changed about her that made her unrecognizable.
"Don't tell me to keep my cool." He snapped at her. "You are in my herds territory." Then she said it, those words that jarred his memory. He knew who she was! "Wait a minute, I know you." He said giving his head a shake, ropes dancing about as he did so. "You're the one I spoke with before...Spook. What the hell happened to you?" Last he had seen her she was in good condition, no scars, no bad attitude and full of life. Now she was a changed horse, and he was quite intrigued as to how she got this way. "You look like one of us now." He commented offhandedly as he looked over her scars once more.

Scar's gaze flew to Rowan's as he snapped at her, yellow orbs once more rimmed with white as she bit back the urge to leap at him. She didn't, of course, but the mare did throw her head back and flare her nostrils a bit, dancing on tense legs a few steps away from him, hoping the distance would help calm herself down. She didn't know what it was, but everything was setting her off into a tirade lately. She'd even thrown a kick at Shiloh! That definately wasn't like her! To be fair, she couldn't say she liked Rowan that much from before, but she certainly wasn't out to start a fight with him, so her own behavior was more or less freaking her out more than anything he said. Scar trained her ears forward once more, really focusing on what he said instead of dwelling on the anger that flared benethe her skin and rooted itself into her brain. It was as if things were crawling just under the surface, and she had to strike out to calm them. As much of a temper she had before... absolutely nothing compared to this.
"Close". she replied, grounding herself from prancing or moving around too much. "Its Scar now, but then... Spook was never my real name to begin with." This was her second adopted name, and both had seemed essential at the time. As for what happened, well that got her to calm down long enough to just grit her teeth. "I'll ignore that comment, as I'm sure 'half-dead' is not a great way to look." She wanted to say it was a personal matter, that it was none of his business how she got this way, but Scar snorted at such thoughts. There was no harm in telling, its not like it was a secret... her tattered hide protested that much at least. "I was betrayed by a back-stabbing little twit, if you must know." She told him, her neck arching and chin tucking toward her chest at the thought. The moment she brought her hooves down on Desmona she was sure would be the greatest in all her life time.

"Scar huh?" He said letting his eyes sweep over her for the hundredth time. "How appropriate. You gonna change your name next time I see you too?" He questioned though honestly he could care less whether he ever met this mare ever again. She may somewhat look like one from his herd, but he didn't think she would ever be that kinda of horse. Sure she seemed to have random outbursts of what he could only assume was anger by her jumpy ways, but that's didn't exactly qualify her to become a member of the Hell Herd.
He snorted at her a bit in disgust, a bit in anger. "Half dead is the only way to look." Rowan still hated normal horses just as much as any other member of the herd. And even though he had disagreed with his Alpha's choice in mate, now they he had spent some time with Regret he had come to realize that she wasn't exactly normal either. Of course his thoughts on this were interrupted by Scars mention of being back-stabbed. "You must have done something pretty bad to piss her off enough to do that to you." He commented offhandedly though he could clearly see those scars were not made by a horse. "Shouldn't you be going off exacting your revenge on this little b***h?"

"Who knows", she replied in a disinterested manner. She never really did take much stock in a name, it wasn't important, and she supposed that why she so easily swapped names when the occasion arose. Whatever the reason, she didn't much care. And right now, the only thing important to do was to get this business with Desmona taken care of. Still, at Rowan's comments the mare couldn't help but feel as though a slight hold-up in her plans would be okay- just so long as it was spent kicking this guy's rump. Between the way his voice sounded and the things he said, Scar was left feeling more irriatable than she had been in the past couple of days. Maybe it was just his knack, this sort of thing.
"For someone hiding up here in the mountaints? Probably." 'Half-dead' was certainly a disadvantage if you were living down there with the other normal horses. Scar didn't care to remember how many times she saw other mustangs bulk and run just because she looked like something chewed her up and spit her out. "I suppose I tasted better", Scar spat through gritting teeth, cynically sarcastic and poisonous in tone. Oh wonderful day when she'd actually meet this guy on the battlefield. But, she had wasted enough time with the palomino and this damned mountain, there were other things to do than tangle herself up with dealings of the 'hell herd'. Pinning her ears to the sides of her skull the chocolate colored mare turned away from the stallion with an aggitated flick of her tail, "Yes, so I'm going." Hopefully in the direction out of your territory, she tacked on mentally. She didn't have time to fool around in here... and you know, look like an idiot in front of Rowan. That would suck.
