If patrolling at night wasn’t dangerous enough with enemies from other planets, there was no the added danger of the enemies who came from Earth. The cops were serious business nowadays, their cars crawling the streets in the darkest hours more frequents and thoroughly than before, and making sure to stop anyone even lightly suspicious. Even hopping from rooftops was becoming a risk as a helicopter would pass once in a while, causing him to duck under whatever turned vent or unlocked door he could find.

Walking on pins and needles all night was exhausting and a real workout on the nerve. What really was unsettling was how a good section of Destiny City was still in lockdown. What was once a part of Destiny that was always awake was now quite, dark, and lit only by streetlamps to shine on barren streets and a few glossy police cars that would drive up and down the cleared roads. Senshi were bad enough. Armed cops were not something he wanted to deal with – not when he was only armed with a bullet-vulnerable uniform and a jump rope.

Since main streets were out, he went for patrolling small alleyways too narrow for cars to drive in and kept his eyes and ears open for any officers of the law who might be on foot. For now, he was lucky, and he made his way through the area to get to someplace more populated and with a better promise of gaining starseeds.

Armed cops also proved to be a problem for the senshi of Destiny City, and what was left of the Zodiacs were no exception. Libra, in her stunning costume, hefting her glittering scales, had to work twice as hard just to remain in the shadows, avoiding the detection of the law, and anyone who might call the law. It irritated the Soldier of Balance to no end; she was skulking around like a criminal. She had done nothing wrong. Civilians clearly didn't know what was best for them.

Bouncing across rooftops, Libra found above the ground to be the most effective area for patrolling. She could see more, and be seen less. She was alone, and given recent events the current state of Aries' orders, it occurred to the blond that perhaps the Captain might not be so pleased with her. It also occurred to her that she could live with that, and-

"Well. Look what the cat dragged in." Descending from the rooftop, Libra's heels clacked against the grimy alley floor as she landed right behind a very familiar Negaverse lieutenant. Swinging a scale, the youth sneer. "You did not learn your lesson the first time, I see. This is your only chance; back out now or I will have no mercy."

If there was one thing he didn’t want to see other than the police, it was Libra. The Zodiac was a nuisance above that or just the normal senshi level. She aggravated him, and also worried him. The female senshi had already showed that she knew Tate, and she also knew that Tate knew him somehow. It gave her a reason to suspect, and he didn’t like someone on the enemy’s side being that close to his secret. Then there was her overall attitude, and that their first encounter had left him hanging from a flagpole and he pretty much hated Libra’s existence – something he hoped to fix by destroying.

To see the cocky blonde show up only made his lip curl, and he stopped walking to turn about and look at her. “ You know, with that scale of yours, you’d think you’d be better at weighing the pros and cons of messing with me.” Wolframite was more than annoyed at this point. He was downright furious with the senshi, not helped by the fact that he had little sleep in the last week. The senshi were the reason the Guard was around and the hospitals were filled.

He stood firm, and quickly summoned his weapon, the jump rope rippling into existence into his hand. “All I learned from last time is that you get more and more irritating, but if we’re giving lessons. I think tonight is a good time for you to find out something new.” He grinned. The last time they had met, he and Libra had to take down a youma to save Tate. The creature did not listen to him as he was just a Lieutenant. He still was, but this time he had a youma that listened. For this reason, he smiled.

Oh, the student thought he'd teach the master now, did he? The Zodiac scoffed, tossing her head as she gave Wolframite a dirty look. "Have you been struck on the head lately? You must be a terrible student, if you cannot even derive the basic principles from the most simple of lessons." Libra snorted, adjusting her grip on the scales' cord. She took one step back from Wolframite, and could only hope the lieutenant thought she was intimidated, or something equally ridiculous.

Honestly, when were these mouthy Negaverse agents ever going to learn? The Zodiac was not to be defeated. What was left of it, anyways.

Without warning, Libra struck, swinging both scales inwards towards the lieutenant's knees. Kneecapping was quickly becoming one of the Senshi's favorite battle techniques; she found sound very appealing about dropping someone into such a vulnerable position, and this agent was certainly no different. In fact, the grudge match growing between them only served to make the blond more aggressive, a small, disgusted sneer curling on her pursed lips.

"How about I teach you some manners, brat."

One good advantage to being short was that at least people were sometimes off with their aim, and Wolframite leaped back, not at all wanting to be crippled during a fight. His legs were important to him, and he didn’t want to be on the ground again and possibly having a repeat tie-up with Libra. THAT was not going to happen, and he’d rather get a punch to the face than a pair of scales to his knees. He did wonder why Libra of all people had an actual item instead of an attack, but he wasn’t going to complain about it. The less magic, the better.

While the pair of them had a growing rivalry, started by a bad encounter that ended in his humiliation and escalating over the protection of Tate. It was even worse now after what Wolframite had heard about the senshi and the ones he loved being in the hospital. The senshi made a mess of everything and risked everything he cared for with their careless magic. They didn’t belong here, and they only made things all the worse by being around. He hated the senshi, but he really hated Libra.

It was why he was glad to have a youma this time around to balance the fighting plain – even if he didn’t know how important a Zodiac was. All he cared for is that he wanted her dead and wanted her starseed as a trophy.

Jumping back, he breathed out in relief that he made it in time to not getting a good chunk of his knee torn off by the gilded metal scales. “I learned more than when we last met, Libra - about fighting and about you. You don’t belong here on this planet.” He had fought more senshi and was now more aware of the presence of death. He also knew more about senshi, thus strengthening his resolve to kill them. What there was to gain and what there was to loose. “…I don’t need to give scum like you any manners after what you all have done.” He rose his hand up. “TARDIS, APPEAR!”

In response to Wolframite's summoning, there came a sound. Distant at first, it pulsed, each repetition resulting in the sound becoming louder, until it threatened to pierce the eardrums. In the space between the two combatants, there was a distortion in the air, and a faint after-image of a phone box appeared. With each shriek, it came into clearer focus, as though the sound served to push it through space and time. Finally, the noise ceased, and the blue phone box was now an imposing physical barrier between the two.

Then, it shuddered, and opened its eyes. All eight of them. One set stared down at Libra blankly. The set on the opposite side studied Wolframite, and blinked, finally connecting its summoner with the pint-sized Lieutenant. Master!

The phone box's door opened, and a long pink tongue shot out, wrapping itself around Wolframite. ReTardis burbled joyfully, lifting its Master up to eye level, and giving him an enthusiastic, and slimy hug, before depositing him on top of the phone box's roof. The eyes on Libra's side had yet to recognize her as the enemy. Still, she was very close to Master. ReTardis's tongue appeared out of the doors on that side, and hovered uncertainly, dripping drool steadily. Was she a friend, or an enemy? ReTardis waited obediently for orders.
