The government isn't your friend. Everyone knows that. But in this medieval setting, people know little else about their government at all.
For the past half a century, government scientists have been performing experiments. Certain sections designated by army officials as "Team New Gen." have been disappearing into forests, mountains, deserts, even venturing underground and underwater. They always went for one thing and one thing only.
They called them "Classifieds." They were creatures that were parts of myths and legends, unreal to most of the world.
But they are only half of the experiment.
The government has also issued sanctions on how many children each family can keep. The third child, boy or girl, is taken by police officials - supposedly to die.
Alchemists from all over the country have been gathered at one building in particular. It is a great fortress, heavily guarded and the best kept secret in the world.
The Classifieds and the stolen children were housed there, and were forced to live together. Each child was paired with a Classified. Some babies died right away, prey to the violence of the Classified they were paired with. Some babies died later, prey to experiments gone wrong. The fact remained that most of the experiments died fairly early on. And even the ones that survived suffered innumerable injustices - abuse, pain, insomnia, insanity. And they suffered from nightmares that kept them up for days, even weeks at a time.
But the ones that survived... were special.
The ones that survived the original pairings and the initial tests were molded. Alchemists bonded child and Classified together - mind and body. Now, each child has the keen ability to shift into the shape of their bonded, and the keener ability to confer with their bonded in private, telepathic speech. The Classifieds were not so lucky. They simply got smaller - and shared the gift of telepathic speech. Their personalities melded - and though they might be different at first glance, personality similarities run deep within each pair. Their relationships are unmatched. Their love and adoration for each other is absolute.
The catch? Kill one, the other dies as well. Injure one -mind, body, or soul- and the other feels it as well, is incapacitated the same way as well.
They were called "the First Generation."
Now the First Generation is much older. Many have broken from their bonds and are in hiding in the forests outskirting the fortress. They must band together if they ever hope of freeing the rest of their fellows and stopping these experiments. Because no matter the extraordinary outcome, each pair has suffered incredible hardships to get there.

1. No god-moding or power-playing, or whatever you want to call taking control of another’s character. You must always leave it up to the other character if he wants to be affected by your actions. 2. Gaia online requires that you are thirteen years old when you join. You know what that means? It means that you should be literate enough to punctuate, spell, and use grammar pretty well. If you’re thirteen, I’m sure you’ve read a book or two. Do not use *actions* and always post in third person. 3. PM me your profile with the headline 'Faraday' 4. Cussing and romance are encouraged, but don't take it too far. Please use common sense. If you are unsure, go look up the TOS or the guild rules. 5. There will be NO killing of any other character without my and his/her permission. 6. Respect others. Do not mock, heckle, harrass, annoy, whatever you want to call it. I will not put up with this. 7. Keep out of character chatting to the minimum. 8. Be active. If you're signing up for this, I expect you to commit to this role play. If, for some reason, you are unable to post, please contact me somehow and we can discuss things. If you are absent for more than two weeks, consider your character deleted. 9. Try to write more than a paragraph. At least try to keep short posts far and few between. 10. DO NOT - and I can't stress this enough - post a decorative little text box EACH and EVERY time you post. I don't want pages stretched because of pictures and ridiculous-looking text. Plain and simple is the best way to go.

First generation people are between the ages of 20-30.
On everyone's shoulder there will be a number, ranging from 1-50. There have only been fifty successful experiments, so please choose a number for your character. Make sure to check the accepted profiles to see what numbers are already taken. First Gen.ers will obviously have the earlier numbers, and Second Gen.ers have the later numbers. Plan accordingly. biggrin
Also, I won't accept mythical creatures that already taken. That just gets too confusing. There's a long list of mythical creatures I have provided, so there shouldn't be any repeats.
PLEASE! NO ANIME PICTURES!
You may choose any mythical creatures you like. For those of you who would prefer regular animals over mythical creatures, you are "The Second Generation" and keep in mind, you will be teenagers. The government has only just begun to work on you, so let's keep 2nd Gen.ers to a minimum.
NO GUNS. Medieval setting here!

Mystical Creatures {Look if you need ideas!}
Angel Basilisk Centaur Cerberus Chimera Dragon Gargoyle Gryphon Harpy Hippogriff Hydra* Kelpie Lamia Leviathan* Manticore Mermaid* Minotaur Pegasus Phoenix Siren Sphinx Unicorn Winged Serpent Wyvern
*Note: You may need to include reasons why your bonded doesn't have to be in water, or just don't choose those because fins and flippers won't do very well on land. So yeah. Sea creatures are not advised.
Also, don't forget that when Classifieds are bonded to a human, they reduce in size. So no behemoths of dragons, hokay? They'd probably be reduced to the size of a large pony. Yup. However, you can be of large size, since you take a similar appearance to your bonded's original form. Capiche?

The First Generation
Gaian Name: Talon StarDrifter Name: Faraday Age: 26 Gender: Female Classified: Chimera Classified's Name: Axis Classified's Gender: Male Appearance: <------------- Faraday is built at the height of 5'5". Her arms, abs and calves are muscular from many activities in the day. One of her eyes, as a result of her bonding, is gold, while the other is naturally green. Her long jet black hair streaked with brown reaches her thighs, always in a braid. She wears black slacks tucked into knee-high leather boots. She wears a simple black shirt held down with a leather belt. Another result from her bonding is her sharp teeth, canines long and serrated. Her hands are no longer human hands, for she has claws rather than fingers. She always hides her hands with gloves. Faraday has leathery brown bat wings sprouting from her back as well, but she doesn't bother covering them. Her skin is pale from being in the experimental building. Tattooed on her arm is the lab number 009. Her body is covered in vicious scars from early fights with Axis, the worst ones being on her belly and arms. The scars gleam white and ragged. Your Animal Appearance: [Chimera Faraday] As a chimera, Faraday is about the size of a female lion. Chimera Faraday weighs about six hundred pounds, due to her added weight of draconian heads, large wings, and long alligator's tail. Her leathery wings measure are huge and muscled to lift her heavy body into the air, though they can fold into virtually nothing. Her side heads are draconian, contrasting greatly to her lioness' head. They act as decoys for enemies; they do not actually function. Her lioness' eyes are gold, but her draconian heads have glowing red eyes. Fur completely covers her sleek body, excluding her leathery wings. Classified's Appearance: [Axis] Axis is black; black feathers and thick, black fur streaked with brown. His eyes glow golden. He is about the size of a large wolf, though much stronger and fiercer than Faraday. The fur on his body grows irregularly because of the scars coating his body. The two heads flanking his center head are merely decoys and do not actually think or see or smell. However, Axis can still control the heads, making them blink, move, or even open their mouths. The clawed bangles on his fore- and hind legs are gifts from the alchemists, made to inflict more damage in his fights with Faraday. He is unable to remove them, and they grow with him. Your Weapons: Clawed hands and sharp teeth and wings. Classified's Weapons: Claws, teeth, sheer strength. Your Abilities/Magic: Faraday can shape shift into any animal she has touched. Being made up of several different animals give her a kind of empathy that allows her to change into other animals. However, the alchemists who bonded her to Axis have never let her come into contact with any animals for fear of her escaping, so she doesn't know of her power yet. Faraday can also secrete a poison through her sharp teeth and claws. This poison acts as a neurotoxin, blocking all nerve impulses so that the victim is rendered paralyzed and unable to breathe. Classified's Abilities/Magic: Axis has the antidote in his teeth, though his bite is so terrible that one would almost rather die. The alchemists were wary of his fangs, for fear that he would poison them. They instead surgically altered him to secrete the antidote. Your Personality: Faraday was a playful child until she was caught. After her bonding, she became surly, violent, sly, and cruel. Always playing mind games with the alchemists, she is used to punishment and has a high pain tolerance. She is initially quite shy around others, though she disguises this with a bad attitude and mean demeanor. To prevent others from discovering her vulnerability, Faraday snaps angrily and tends to get into fights quite often. When angered, Faraday changes to her Chimera form and is not afraid to show her anger. The alchemists like to make her angry, because when Faraday is angry, she tends to do better in the testing. Thus, Faraday is usually in a perpetual dismal mood after being conditioned to be continuously angry, and it takes much cajoling on Axis's part to lift her spirits. The only being that escapes her wrath is Axis, though they get into fights every so often. Classified's Personality: Axis is every bit as moody as Faraday, though there are brief spells when he can be mellow. Although he can be moody, he is generally slow to anger and prefers to think things through rather than rush through situations helter-skelter. He is a vicious fighter, as the old scars on Faraday's body can attest for. Axis and Faraday are like opposite sides of a coin, making them closer yet farther apart at the same time. He doesn't often participate in Faraday's mind games, because he feels they are below him, and he can be quite lazy. Axis has no interest in others beyond himself and Faraday, unless they concern other classifieds and their bonded partners. He strongly believes that he and Faraday need to help the other classifieds escape their hell hole. Short Bio: Faraday was taken by the alchemists when she was only three. All her memories of her family forgotten, replaced by memories of early years of torture and pain. At five, the alchemists bonded her to Axis. At first, for the first six years, they did not get along at all. They fought often, though in hurting the other they hurt themselves. Finally, shortly after reaching eleven-years-old, the alchemists tested her various times and Faraday almost died. However, Axis comforted and tended to her with exquisite care (and not entirely for his own benefit) and from then on, they have been inseparable. From time to time they get into physical fights, ignoring the pain, but the fights never last long. They detest any moment not with the other, and they often put up a resistance to the alchemists, though they were beaten. However, Faraday and Axis kept it up until they reached the age of twenty-six. Axis somehow managed to use his clawed bangles to disembowel the alchemists holding him captive, and Faraday used her poisonous fangs and wicked claws to kill the ones holding her in a separate room. They are now out of the fortress and prowling about.

Gaian Name: The_autumn_thief Name: Rosalind Age: 24 Gender: female Classified: Kelpie Classified's Name: Ciara Classified's Gender: female Your Appearance: <----------- Standing at a petite 5 feet, and with a face housing more rounded, childish features, Rosalind is often mistaken for a 12 year old child. She’s built thin, with little muscle, but a lot of agility and flexibility. She has the typical Irish eyes, large, gray, and expressive, and mahogany colored hair falls scraggily to her upper back. She wears a green tunic that reaches mid thigh with black leggings and thick soled black ballet slippers. A black cloth belt ties off at her waist and hangs a few inches past the tunic's hem. Her skin is pale, but due to genetics, freckles are already spread across her cheekbones. On her left shoulder the number 019 is tattooed in black ink. Your Animal Appearance:<>Kelpie Rosalind<>Rosalind looks like a typical horse, but almost always slightly wet. With a pure black coat, shells dangle from her mane and tail, creating a sort of hypnotic rhythm. Her hooves are slightly green in color, and her eyes are reflective much like a fish's pupil. A large horse, she stands at almost 6 feet tall at her back, 7, almost 8 feet tall at her head. Classified's Appearance: <>Ciara---Horse<>Ciara stands at almost five feet tall, a little over six at her head. She’s also black, but with a white star on her forehead. She lacks the shells and constantly wet fur that distingushes her as a true kelpie. To most she looks like a smaller horse. Your Weapons: While human, Rosalind is a proficient archer. Otherwise, she uses her hooves and teeth. Classified's Weapons: hooves, teeth, and wits. Your Abilities/Magic: Rosalind has the ability use Mind control, but only if the person has locked eyes with her. She is also Telepathic, with a compelling voice. Classified's Abilities/Magic: Ciara’s abilities are virtually the same as Rosalind’s, although Ciara’s is determined by how close she is to water. Ciara also has the uncanny ability to travel between bodies of water instantaneously, and can also transport those on her back the same way. Ciara doesn’t like carrying others though, because that generally makes her hungry. Your Personality: Rosalind is quiet and rather likes to stay in the background. But that doesn’t mean she isn’t unique. Rosalind more or less seems to have a sardonic personality, and tends to expect the worst in things. She tends to be sarcastic, but contradictorily enough, she can find humor in most any situation, and likes to see other people happy. Classified's Personality: Ciara has a dark humor. As a kelpie, she was used to being a blood thirsty creature that ate people with no remorse. Only after she was bonded to Rosalind did she start to develop any sort of remorse. To say the least, Ciara is not people Friendly. She gets angry that she can’t eat the people who try to touch her or approach her, and so lashes out with anger. Short Bio: Rosalind was taken at 5 yrs old. While she doesn’t remember her parents looks, she remembers their voices and stories. When bonded to Ciara at that same year, she was at first scared to death. Her parents had warned her about kelpies, and Rosalind lived in fear the creature would try to eat her. When she was seven, she found out that by hurting herself she could in turn hurt the kelpie too. When she was 12, she tried to kill her self , and came close, but in the end failed. When she saw the kelpie whimpering in pain from her actions, she realized that Ciara might not be too horribly bad. Ever since, Rosalind and Ciara have gotten along…. for the most part. At this moment both Ciara is trapped, but Rosalind is planning to break out.
----------------------------------------
Gaian Name: Panpear Name: Coren Age: 21 Gender: Male Classified: Minotaur Classified's Name: Thelios Classified's Gender: Male Your Appearance: <------------- Coren stands at 5'6'', a skinny fellow with gangly limbs. His hair is a light brown, and usually messy, falling right around his ears. His face is a little long, with a skinny nose and thin lips. Only his right eye is brown; the other has clouded over due to an eye injury (the near-vertical scar that caused the wound is still visible). In fact, much of his body is covered with scars, covering his pale skin with both white and brown lines. In addition, he has a cow-like tail (another side effect of his bonding) covered in light brown fur, the same color as his hair, with the long-haired tip being a slight darker color. He prefers to wear long, loose clothing, so he can hide his scars and tail. On his left arm is tattooed the number 017. 'Coren' image released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.0 Generic License by 'Miss Cartier'. Your Animal Appearance: Coren looks like a typical minotaur when he transforms. In general, he looks like a person with the head of a bull, except that he has sharp man-eating teeth, he's covered in fur, and has hooves, horns, and a tail. He becomes very, very muscular, and grows to a height of about 8 feet. His scars and other injuries still exist when he transforms, but the fur is usually long enough to cover them (and his fur is long enough to cover some other areas, if you know what I mean). The tan horns on his head go almost straight off to the side, each being a little less than a foot in length. Classified's Appearance: Similarly, Thelios also looks like a minotaur, because he is one. Becoming bonded shrunk his size to a mere 6'7'', but he still is very muscular. His fur is a dark brown, almost black. He has two very large brown horns, that go out and then forward with deadly points at the end. His eyes are dark brown. Thelios, unlike Coren, has very few scars, and almost none are visible if he did have any. Your Weapons: Raw strength, teeth, horns. Classified's Weapons: Raw strength, teeth, horns. Your Abilities/Magic: Coren is incredibly strong while he's a Minotaur - you know, the break stone with your bare hands kind of strong. In fact, he's stronger than Thelios. However, he lacks the finesse needed to perform more complicated maneuvers, and has much less stamina than Thelios. However, he is fairly impervious to harm while transformed. What could cause broken bones while he was human would merely bruise him badly. He also can run fairly fast, along with Thelios. Among the more minor differences, Coren is able to speak more or less normally while a Minotaur, and has more control of over his thinking than most Minotaurs do. Coren also has the ability to eat just about anything while in Minotaur form and digest it (he doesn't exercise this power very much). Classified's Abilities/Magic: Thelios, like Coren, is also very strong. Being a true Minotaur, he has greater stamina than Coren does. In addition to being more impervious to wounds, Thelios is also able to heal completely from them, a power Coren did not inherit. The healing process is not much faster than humans heal, and therefore still needs treatment to stop bleeding and such. Instead, he heals to a fuller extent; when healing is complete, Thelios is returned to near perfection, with everything functioning as if he was never hurt. The minotaur is also an adept tracker, his nose rivaling those of dogs. Thelios can also eat just about anything (though he is rather partial to manflesh), but is not able to speak at all. Your Personality: Coren is a quiet man, preferring to think things over rather than to take immediate action. He doesn't talk much, and when he does, he doesn't say much. He scares fairly easily, though, and admires Thelios (most of the time). He prefers not to be in Minotaur form. Classified's Personality: Thelios is rather the opposite - brash, loud, and acting before he thinks. (Minotaurs aren't known to be the sharpest tool in the shed). He often reacts on instinct, rather than realizing cause and effect. However, Coren has influenced him to think just a bit harder about things, and throughout the year, Thelios has developed a very paternal and protective attitude towards Coren. Short Bio: Coren was taken when he was very young - only about six months old - due to his parents not wanting to care for another child when the alchemists set out for more test subjects. (At that time, the alchemists experiment rates were stepping up, and therefore they needed even more children to experiment on, as many experiments were 'failures'). Thinking that the child was too young to bond properly, the alchemists put Coren with the Minotaur, who had a tendency to eat all of the children they planned to bond with him. For some reason, Thelios did not eat Coren (he later explained to the Coren that babies were too small to make a good meal, and that Coren did not make all sorts of loud and annoying noises like the other children did). It was only a few months until the alchemists bonded the two. And it wasn't long after that when the experiments began. Most of the experiments were based on how the bonded minotaur's regeneration powers were effected, and if they transferred onto the human. They soon learned that no, it was not transferred, as the wounds the Coren received never fully healed, even when he spent extended time as a minotaur. Coren slowly became more scarred and injured, while Thelios always recovered to full health (it was during one of these experiments, when Coren was five or six, that he lost sight in one of his eyes). In addition, they found that the force that caused an injury would transfer directly, but not the injury itself. A slap to human Coren would barely move Thelios, while a blow that would make Thelios flinch would likely throw Coren across the room. More recently, the experiments have switched to focusing on a minotaur's strength and mental dexterity, as opposed to healing.
----------------------------------------
Gaian Name: Secret Kirari Name: Aurora Li-Bleu Age: Twenty-seven Gender: Female Classified: Sphinx Classified's Name: Altan Classified's Gender: Male Your Appearance: <------------- Aurora is short, and grew only to 5’1¾”. She has lean muscle that is often underestimated, used mostly for running rather than heavy lifting. Both eyes are an indigo-blue and rimmed in a kohl-esque fashion from her bonding. She is quiet and feminine, and her clothing mimics it: when given a choice, she will choose girly dresses and ruffles over pants. Her expression is usually serious or blank, though she has been known to smile towards people she becomes fond of. Her number is 002. Your Animal Appearance: Sphinx Aurora In this form, Aurora’s shoulders are as high as a person’s head. Her eyes retain their indigo pallor and black outline, and her fur is paler than Altan’s ever was because she is so pale herself. Classified's Appearance: Altan Altan has shrunk from being around six feet tall (head inclusive) to only two feet tall. He can almost pass for an innocent housecat. However, Altan is special, and can also take upon the appearance of a human man: Human Altan While human, his thick black hair is cut extremely evenly to brush his shoulders, with thick bangs. He is almost dark-skinned, and has near-black eyes seemingly rimmed with kohl, though it is really just a remnant of his natural sphinx form. He used to be well over six feet tall like this, but now is only 5’5”. Your Weapons: A stolen butcher knife that is kept well-hidden within the folds of her dress, as well as claws and teeth when in sphinx form. Classified's Weapons: Claws and teeth, skilled with a khopesh while human. Your Abilities/Magic: Aurora has a limited clairvoyance that allows her to know things she probably shouldn’t know, and she has little control over it since she has never had much reason to keep from knowing things. She can speak telepathically with anyone she has touched before as long as they are within range—the limit to this range is yet unknown to her. Classified's Abilities/Magic: Altan has the same basic abilities as Aurora, but he has the additional ability to read any alphabet or language without prior exposure. Your Personality: Aurora is quiet and does not speak much to people she is unfamiliar with. She is almost a wallflower. This has been true for her whole life, even before being taken away. Her facial expression rarely changes for those she dislikes or is unfamiliar with; pain does not affect her as much as it should. She will often go into her own little world, and it seems that this is her way of coping with what has happened to her. She can be possessive and vain. Classified's Personality: Altan is protective of Aurora and will often speak for the both of them. He does not have much reaction to pain stimuli, much like Aurora, and is very possessive of her. He does not like it when she gives her attention to any males, feeling that they are competition, even though he does not actually wish to mate with her. He can be vain on occasion. Short Bio: Aurora was taken late, after being hidden quite well by her parents. She remembers their faces, as well as the faces of her older sister and brother, though she can’t remember their voices or any pleasant memories. The alchemists used the fact that she knew her family’s names to torture her and play with her mind. If she would not do something, they would threaten her family—her frail mother or her kind brother, perhaps—and then she’d be more than willing. At nine she was bonded with Altan, and at first he annoyed her with his talking, but eventually they grew close. With their combined abilities of clairvoyance, they managed to escape about a year ago. They take comfort in each other, even though Altan remembers nothing beyond his name from before his capture.
----------------------------------------
Gaian Name: Secret Kirari Name: Atl (Nicknamed Leslie by his Classified) Age: 20 Gender: Male Classified: Mermaid Classified's Name: Cassandra (called Pearl only by Leslie) Classified's Gender: Female Your Appearance:<------------- Leslie stands at about 5’6”, and is skinny but has strong arms. His eyes are bright blue from his bond with Cassandra. Since escaping, he often wears women’s clothing and acts as Cassandra’s sister to avoid suspicions, sticking mostly to blue colors. Dresses are not uncommon for him to wear, usually with a pair of flats or some traveler’s boots. He has scales in some places on his body from his bond; his number, 032, is tattooed directly onto one of these patches, and it was a painful process. Your Animal Appearance: Mer-Leslie Leslie’s hair is long and black, like his normal appearance. His tail is almost five feet long when fully extended, and his eyes seem to glow. He is forced to transform whenever he is even partially submerged in water (rain does not influence him as such). Classified's Appearance: Cassandra Your Weapons: A thin katana-like sword. Classified's Weapons: None. Your Abilities/Magic: When Leslie sings, it draws people near in an enchanted way, distracting them completely; it can work as a lullaby or simply to attract unwitting people. He also can cause or soothe rough weather, but only when near water. Classified's Abilities/Magic: Cassandra’s magic works the same way, but she also has some limited abilities to heal. Your Personality: Leslie chooses to ignore all the experiments that have been performed upon him, often acting as if they never happened. He is usually talkative and friendly, and often will try and have physical contact with people he is talking to. He avoids talk of the experiments and labs at all costs. Classified's Personality: Cassandra is also of a happy disposition, and she and Leslie depend heavily on each other to create a world where none of their problems exist. Cassandra is quieter than Leslie, because she is used to just listening to him talk, but is more than willing to talk if given the chance. Short Bio: Leslie was captured at two years old. For years, he was mostly ignored, not being the most promising specimen, until he was bonded with Cassandra at eight. Then they would see how long he could remain underwater (indefinitely), how much electricity he could stand, and all sorts of horrors with his scales—when pulled out, do they grow back? How much pressure until they break? Does blood run through?—and later, when he and Cassandra finally started to form a plan to leave, he became subject to experiments for male pregnancy. He does not know how far they managed to get before he and Cassandra, who he pushes around in a wheelchair while on land, a blanket carefully covering her fin, left.
The Second Generation
Gaian Name: Kyground Name: Isaac Armine Age: Seventeen Gender: Male Classified: Phoenix Classified's Name: Hikicter Classified's Gender: Male Your Appearance: <----------- Isaac stands at about five feet and seven inches tall and has a fair complexion. He has light brown hair and light bluish green eyes. Typically he wears a from fitting brown shirt and heavy, thick cotton shorts. He does not wear shoes since he no longer has feet. His talons do not allow him these. Also, his shirt is custom made to accommodate his wings, which gives him about a seven and a half foot wing span, though they are not on fire. They are of a lighter shade of scarlet than Hikicter's, and go to an orange color at the tips rather than a yellow. Upon his left shoulder he bears the number 46 in black ink. Your Animal Appearance:Phoenix Isaac Isaac in his animal form is very fire based. He is almost completely composed of it, though he can still grab things. In this form he has to be especially careful in this form because he has a tendency to ignite things. He is about five feet long from foot to crown and seven and a half feet from beak to tail. His wing span is about thirteen feet, very large when he's trying to move around. Classified's Appearance: Hikicter Hikicter is about a fourteen inches from foot to crown and two feet from beak to tail. His wing span is about three and a half feet. He is more flesh and blood based than Isaac's form. He has a deep scarlet color for his feathers and eyes bluer than any sea on the planet. The tips of the feathers on his crown and tail get more and more yellow the further they get from the main body. The talons he possesses are about two inches long each with three in front and one in the back. He has very few scars on his body that are hidden by feathers anyway. He is very particular about his appearance, so he very rarely has so much as a single feather out of place. Your Weapons: Talon like feet and wings. Classified's Weapons: Powerful talons, beak, and wings. Your Abilities/Magic: Isaac is capable of minor fire manipulation, mostly thanks to his form. Also, when in animal form Isaac can pass through porous structures that fire can pass through. Lastly, Isaac's most impressive/annoying power, he cannot be truly killed when in animal form and he heals very quickly in human form. He has the phoenix's ability to be reborn from his own ashes, the only difference being that Isaac does not have to be completely reborn. Meaning he is not reborn as baby Isaac. After his first death it takes about two minutes for him to resurrect. If his next death is within an hour of his revival, he will remain dead longer. This unfortunately stacks, though can be remedied by adding a spark to the ashes to revive him quickly. Classified's Abilities/Magic: Hikicter has nearly complete control over fire currently in existence and within his sight. Hikicter also has the resurrection ability with the same conditions, except that he is reborn as a hatchling. He retains all of his memories however. Your Personality: Isaac a bit of a go with the flow kind of guy. While this seems a little out of place in the lab, it is what keeps him sane. He enjoys sabotaging the lab workers in whatever ways he can, and is rarely caught. This is frustrating for the workers since Isaac is very noticeable. He cannot fly about since his wings are clipped in human form, and he is constantly reminded that there is a contraption made specifically to douse his animal form. Otherwise, when is he in front of the staff, he is mildly obedient just to avoid trouble. Classified's Personality: Hikicter is wise and very intelligent. He is timeless where Isaac is not. He has seen and heard many, many things. He is also rather vain, though that can sometimes be an entertaining quality. He claims that he agreed to this captivity to that the humans may understand his greatness, and that they cheated him into the length of his stay. He also claims he could escape whenever he wishes, though he would not want to leave Isaac behind. He is very cheeky, and holds the right that he can be. He is like the ancient adviser that acts as a guide, though he certainly doesn't like to seem like it. Short Bio: Isaac was actually a pretty quiet child when he was younger. He had to make his own fun after he was kidnapped at age seven. A little old, but he was still a decent candidate. He remembers the faces of his parents, though the reason he was even able to be kidnapped was because his parents were killed in a fire. It is a bit of a cruel irony that Isaac has been bonded with a phoenix. Together they make a very interesting team. When the pair was first bonded he didn't react to it well. His body didn't really appreciate it much and Isaac was bedridden for a month. This led to a few 'special tests' afterward since it frustrated the lab workers. It wasn't his fault, but they didn't really care.

Snarling and snapping, Faraday struggled against the bonds that held her down on the table. Her wings were being held down by spiked chains that pierced the thin membrane of her wings; Faraday did not move them for fear of causing greater pain. Had her alligator tail been free, it would have been whipping back and forth hoping to connect with a few skulls. Her side heads [purely decoration] were strapped down as well, though her main head looked all around the room, snarling and spitting. Blood ran down her heaving sides; one ear was torn; several of her claws were bent and broken; some of the ridges that ran parallel down her tail were completely torn away; blood trickled into one eye, obscuring the lioness's sight; several of the spikes on her back were bent or missing. The greatest injury, however, was long gash that ran parallel to her spine. The wound nearly severed the wing muscles that roped beneath her skin. The alchemists stayed well out of range of her fangs, and had steel poles in their hands. At the end of each pole was a sharpened hook.
Down the hall, Axis was roaring with anger and pain. Faraday jerked in her restraints, straining toward her other half. The thick leather straps dug into her tough skin, deepening the already red welts; rivulets of blood fell to the floor from her various wounds.
A frightful roar sounded from Faraday's throat. Several alchemists flinched; one dropped her weapon. Panting, Faraday wearily lay her head on the table below her. Her golden eyes drooped shut. She was so tired. And they had barely even begun.
faraday-
Farday's head jerked up, eyes open in a second. That was Axis. They weren't allowed to communicate during the experiments. The alchemists supplied a drug to Axis constantly that disable their telepathic speech. So how was he talking to her now?
Axis? Bewildered, Faraday pulled at her restraints half-heartedly. What was going on?
i'm coming.
Wha-?
Her thought was left unfinished. At that moment, Axis charged into the room in all his mixed-animal glory. His claws scythed left and right, cutting down the surprised alchemists. One managed to stick his hook into Axis's flank. Faraday jerked with the pain as a new wound opened on the same place on her own body. Roaring with pain and blind fury, Axis whirled around and swept the man's head off with a powerful swipe of his large paw. With that decapitation, the room was empty save the two heaving chimeras. They stared at each other for a moment; then--
faraday--
Axis--!
The chimera stepped forward and began chewing through the straps restraining Faraday. Faraday pushed up, straining at the bonds. Once Axis chewed through half of one, it broke with the force of Faraday's weight straining against it. She jerked up when the bond finally gave way, the action making her pull against her wings. She hissed with pain as she made the holes in her wings larger. Axis growled as similar wounds appeared on his feather wings. He turned away to pick off the feathers that covered the wounds, exposing the bleeding holes. Then, he turned to the chains pinning his bonded's wings down. He unhooked them with a claw that was not broken and gingerly pulled the chains out. Faraday whimpered; Axis, in the same pain, rumbled deep in his chest.
As soon as her wings were free, Faraday wriggled off the table. She crashed to the ground in an unceremonious heap. Axis moved to her immediately, licking her wounds. One golden eye roved over Axis's body. His body was in the same physical state as hers.
Axis, your--
i can wait, faraday, until we are safely out of this place.
Faraday nodded wearily. She stood shakily and limped toward the window at the back of the room. Clawing her way out, Faraday launched herself out the window. Axis followed closely behind, though avoided the long tail that acted as Faraday's rudder.
Upon launching herself out the window, Faraday realized belatedly that they were on the third floor of the fortress, and was unable to stretch out her wings in time. She landed with a heavy 'thump.' The force jarred her wounds and body; Axis winced as he landed gently before folding in his great wings. Faraday groaned and stood. Swaying, Faraday opened her wings, readying herself for flight. Axis stood at her side, supporting her weight. Faraday took a few steps forward and launched herself into the air, wings flapping painfully. The long wound on her back throbbed painfully, and the cold air whistling through the holes on her wings stung the wounds. Axis flew above her, comforting and strengthening her with his presence. Although he was in the same pain as she, he was more tolerant toward the pain and could still function.
Where are we going, Axis? Even her mind-voice was weak.
somewhere where we can prepare.
For what?
Axis's glowing gold eyes met Faraday's. Faraday shivered at the emotion in her bonded's eyes and heart.
for the rebellion.

The cell was, small, dark, and a little moist. Under the window, a puddle had formed, from the dew and rain, and in the center of the room, sitting in a pale patch of light that came through the window of what seemed to be the dungeon of the fortress.
On the stool sat a girl… short in stature, with her hair tied back with a thin leather strap and her green tunic bunched up at her thighs. She looked perfectly calm, almost drugged, her eyes staring off into a nothing space, one of her feet twitching every couple of seconds. Her group of guards had walked off moments before, thinking her perfectly trapped and drugged with in her cell.
Rosalind
One of the girls eyes twitched, betraying excitement, and joy. The voice she heard in her head was that of her greatest and only friend in this prison, a kelpie by the name of Ciara. For a moment, the girl, Rosalind, saw what her friend saw, though the horses slightly distorted vision.
Guards had just passed by the room they were keeping the Kelpie in, and Rosalind recognized one of them as one of her own. They were getting lazy. It was the perfect time for a fight. Out of nowhere, Rosalind fell to the ground, screaming, and shaking, her body twitching in sporadic jerks of her arms and legs… all the while her eyes were trained on the small window in her cell door.
Rosalind waited, keeping up what looked to be a seizure, and heard one pair of steady light steps as a guard headed to see what the experiment was yelling about. His eyes widened as he looked though the window, and the guard quickly entered the room, thinking she had reacted poorly to the drugs that had hidden in her food… in the food Rosalind had “eaten”… by tossing it out the cell window.
All the while Rosalind was watching as Ciara prepared to slip out… quite literally…
The guard pulled at the Rosalind’s twitching wrist, the one that wasn’t slowly inching towards the stool. Out of nowhere the girl calmed, looking almost dead, one hand gripping the stool. The guard ignored this and leaned down, trying to feel a heart beet on her neck, and then trying to hear a breath.
Rosalind watched in her mind’s eye as a guard passed by Ciara’s door, taunting her with his cup of wine. Ciara jumped at the door causing his wine to spill, and slowly slip under the door. A little more, enough for the kelpie to get her two front hooves in….
The image vanished from Rosalind’s mind, and her hand jerked up, smashing the man across the face with the stool. He fell with a short yell just as Ciara appeared. Melting out of the puddle.
Ready? The kelpie asked with a nervous whine. If we wait, more guards will come. Hurry up and hop on.
Rosalind heeded to the kelpies advice. She had only traveled through the water portals twice, and she swore she would drown every time. But at this point, she would rather drown then stay here.
She steadied her self on the kelpies back as they entered the water. The kelpie gave one warning. I can’t transport off the fortress grounds, and I’m not sure where I’ll appear. So be quiet, and prepare to hide.
The kelpie stepped into the water.

The two chimera wobbled in the air, almost simultaneously, as they descended, struggling to keep control of their abused and painful wings. Skimming over the trees, the chimeras searched for a decent landing spot. Axis spotted an ideal place, a small hole in the treetops that led down to a tiny clearing with a tiny pond, perfect for drinking and bathing wounds. Brushing Faraday's wingtip with his own, too tired for telepathy, Axis led the way. Faraday followed wearily, not quite comprehending what was going on. The two landed safely, their exhausted wings folding with relief, their heads drooping in fatigue.
come to the water, faraday, Axis instructed, plodding into the shallow green water. Faraday walked slowly, paws dragging in the grass. She entered the water where Axis proceeded to clean her with his tongue and paws, rubbing water over her wounds. Perking up slightly, Faraday lay down and licked at Axis's wounds as well, getting all the spots he missed.
After the grooming session ended, the two chimeras rested in the water, enjoying the feeling of the gentle water lapping at their skin.
"we have to let our wounds dry," Axis said, speaking for the first time that day. His voice was raspy, a result of swallowing Faraday's blood. Blinking, Faraday sighed.
"Fine, whatever..." She dragged herself out of the cool water and settled on the banks, wings spread out to dry in the sunlight filtered by the treetops. Axis joined her on the dry land and positioned himself nearby in the sunlight.
"So," Faraday started, "what rebellion were you talking about?"
"the one against the alchemists," Axis stated calmly. "what other one could i be talking about?"
Faraday's head snapped up, her two golden eyes and four red ones flashing angrily.
"Are you nuts? We just escaped twenty-three years of confinement and abuse and experimentation and torture, and now you want to go back and fight them?" By the end of her speech, Faraday was close to roaring.
Baleful golden eyes glared at Faraday in warning.
"one: keep it down. they're going to be searching for us. two: we have to end this. those alchemists will never stop searching for us if they're still around. three: again, shut up."
Snarling, Faraday retorted, "Oh please! All we need to do is fly AWAY. I'm sure you've noticed these-" here she shook her huge wings violently, ignoring the pain shooting through her and Axis's bodies "- and how good they are at carrying us AWAY from danger!"
With an annoyed huff, Axis replied, "you do realize that this isn't the only facility in the world, right? no matter where we go, there's going to be someone hunting us down. we have to end this, or we die. simple as that."
Faraday stubbornly shook her head. "No. We're never going back. I don't care what you say. We are never going back to that horrible place. Do you understand me?"
Axis's glare clearly informed her that he did indeed understand, though he obviously did not agree.

This had to be the worst feeling in the world. Blindness, a paralyzing fear tat overrode commonsense. All Rosalind knew was that she HAD to hold on to the kelpie beneath her, and, not let go, for fear of killing herself and the kelpie in the abyss. Suddenly, she felt the warmth of real water around her, and saw the sun filtering through murky pond water, and jumped off the horses back. Ciara was to small to carry them both to the surface, especially with Rosalind’s clothes soaked through as they were.
Ciara took her time, padding along the bottom of the pond, which was barely deep enough to cover her head. Rosalind, however, hurried for the surface, breathing in the air by the lungful, and then, when the water swallowed out a little, walked towards the shore, then fell into the dry reed bed, closing her eyes, and settling her self.
Never again. She vowed to the kelpie, who was taking her time under the water. The kelpie had missed her home turf… in the fortress, she had been kept as clear apart from any sort of water. Do you hear me, Ciara? The girl asked, using her arms to pull herself up into a sitting position. NEVER again. The kelpie snickered and started to exit the water.
Grime had coated the kelpies back, and weeds and other sorts of plants had become intertwined with her tale and hair, her eyes, were wide, bright, and flashing reflectively as she slowly walked out of the water For a moment, Rosalind caught a rare glimpse of what Ciara used to be, before the government had captured her. A glimpse of the nightmare that had made Irish children cringe in fear of water.
Laughter filled Rosalind’s mind.
Oh shut up about it, will you Ciara. Humans are allowed to fear things, aren’t we? It’s natural to fear what looks unexplainable. The girl slowly stood up, looking her self over.
The Alchemists had spared any physical pain to Ciara and Rosalind, but rather had tortured them in a different way. They had separated the two as far as possible., causing confusion and Chaos as neither of them had the other to balance their attitudes. Food was drugged. Over the last four days, both Rosalind and Ciara had staved themselves, and that, coupled with the interrogations and mental tests, had started yellowish bruises appearing on Rosalind.
Gingerly, Rosalind touched one of her bruises. It was a feather light touch, but even that sent enormous pain into her body. Both her and Ciara winced, and Ciara made a clucking noise.
“We should Kill them.” Rosalind voiced aloud, her voice low, steady, and eerily calm.
Ciara made a clucking noise again, this time in Disdain. No. She corrected. We should get very far away.
The horse stretched her ears, hearing the noise in the Alchemist's fortress, and started back towards the water.
Come on Rosalind. she said, pausing at the waters edge. One more time. I should be able to go farther this time...then, maybe, never again.
Rosalind nodded, jumping on the creatures back, and steeling ehr self for the jarring trip.
Again, the kelpie stepped into the water, and as if they had never been there, they were gone.
Darkness closed in from all sides, and Rosalind had to remind herself to breath. One in, one out. She told her self.
Then it was over. This pond was shallower, and a sort of mist surounded the pair to hide thir sudden appearence.... all a part of the Kelpie's magic, Rosalind supposed. She also supposed that changing into her kelpie shape might make running a bit quicker and easier. With a liitle stretch to loosen her joint, Rosalind melded seemlessly into the shape of a large horse.
When the mist cleared, the sight that greeted Ciara and Rosalind would have sent them back into the water, if Ciara hadn't been so weak.
Rosalind... The horses voice was weak and exausted, tired, and alltogether sad.
Together, they stared at the two Chimera's on the beach, wondering what to do.

Faraday was snoozing fitfully on the grass, on her side, kicking and snapping at a dream. Axis lounged on his side, looking like the king of the African plains, except for, you know, the wings, the black fur, the two dragon-like heads flanking his lion's one, etc. It was Axis's duty to keep watch while Faraday rested, since when she rested, the energy stored in her body was also stored in Axis's body. He was enjoying this calm relaxation; he had never been able to do so at the fortress. Lazily flicking his ears to chase away flies, Axis missed the slight mist that expelled from the pond.
He yawned widely, canines flashing in the sunlight. Something rippled in the pond. Axis was up in a moment, fur bristling, mouths wrinkled into a snarl. His eyes were narrowed on the two figures lying in the pool. They widened, however, when Axis realized what the two were.
There appeared to be two horses lying in the pool, one black with a white star on its forehead, the other a deeper black than the other, with what looked like shells tied in its mane. The smaller one looked exhausted, though both clearly looked despairing as they gazed at the chimeras.
Axis crouched down low, dragon heads bobbing threateningly, his central head baring its teeth. He kicked Faraday with his hind foot, jarring her awake.
"What's the big idea?" she snarled, snapping at his foot. He snatched his foot away, pissed that she drew blood.
look at the pond, fool, Axis growled mentally.
Cranky from being woken and from the pain in her foot, Faraday switched her gaze from her partner to the pair in the pond.
"What the- who the hell are you?" she snapped.

Rosalind Gulped, and looked sideways at Ciara. Rosalind could only communicate with telepathy in this form, and she didn’t want to startle the two creatures on the beach by breaking their privacy and entering their minds. It seemed like she would have to be human for a while… hopefully they would be far enough away for it not to matter.
The shift was seamless. One second a large imposing Kelpie, Monster of the Lake, the next moment, a young girl wearing drenched clothes stood clinging to the mane of the horse next to her as if she were a toddler, and it her mother’s leg
Rosalind considered the question fro a moment. Should they lie? The girl had no idea what Chimera’s were like.... Did they eat people, or was that a sort of taboo? In the end, and after a quick mental nudge from Ciara, it was decided it was best for her to answer honestly.
“My name is Rosalind.” She said, shifting nervously in the water. “And this is Ciara.”, she said, gesturing to the horse beside her. “I’m… her she pauses, not quite sure what to say. “I’m a human…err... Kelpie… thing.” She blinked, annoyed by her own stupidity. But that was what fear did. It made you stupid. “And Ciara. She’s a Kelpie. Mostly.”
Mentally, both Ciara and Rosalind kicked themselves. That sounded so stupid!!!
Ciara whinnied softly, and Rosalind Cleared her throat. “We’re.. on the run… I guess you could say…” She looked down, talking more at the water then to the Chimeras. “We’d be glad to go… We didn’t mean to get in your way.” Here, she had started to repeat the scattered thoughts she was getting from Ciara. Taking a deep breath, she paused. Suddenly, Rosalind looked up, dead at the Chimera’s. “You won’t eat us, will you?” she abruptly asked.
