Name: Leto Takahashi
Aliases/ Nicknames: Various, but none of them are 'official' or 'approved'.
Age: 27
Rank: Quincy Leader
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 139 lbs
Personality:
Leto's personality, as does most people, varies with various situations. On an average day he appears disinterested and aloof. Rarely is he rushed and he often appears to have a bored expression on his face. Since he is CEO of his own business, Takahashi Industries, which specializes in military weaponry and the such, he often does not actually need to "go to work". When alone he tends to be more talkative, kind of ironic if you think about it, and shows more emotion than he does on a regular basis.
Despite the disinterest he shows, Leto is also a bit of a tinkerer and inventor. Using Takahashi Industries as a cover up of sorts, Leto has managed to create a variety of Quincy accessories, including a pistol that has been altered to fire spiritual particles. Whenever he is like this, he still appears aloof because of the amount of concentration he is putting into creating something and hates to be interrupted in case it throws him off track.
In battle, Leto still maintains the coldness he shows, but he is also calculating. He takes in his surroundings and uses them to his advantage, as well as taking careful note of his opponent's actions to look for a weakness, a hole, or to predict their next move. When fighting, Leto is ruthless to his enemies and even a bit to his allies too. He believes in the prowess of his allies, maybe a bit too much, and almost expects them to be able to predict his attacks. For example, he will expect somebody to move out of the way when he fires an arrow and often does not give warnings. Even when those he cares about are hurt, he will let others take care of them and go on fighting.
Theme Song(s):
Manowar - Black Wind, Fire, And Steel
Physical Description:
Leto has black hair that appears to be a very dark shade of brown when directly in bright sunlight. His hair is often unkempt since he doesn't care much for it and rarely does Leto get a hair cut, though he does when it gets too outrageously long. He has deep brown eyes that often appear cold. It is rare to see Leto in overly casual clothes, such as jeans or t-shirts. He usually wears dress pants with a belt on no matter the temperature and a black collared shirt, usually long-sleeved but occasionally shirt sleeved. He has a wide variety of ties, though the ones that he most commonly wear are colored pitch black, crimson, or navy blue. Leto also has both a black jacket, a lighter shade than his dress shirt and tie, and a brown trench coat. Black socks and black shoes, usually dress shoes but occasionally simply plain sneakers, make up Leto's footwear.
In battle, he will usually stick with these outfits. The only real noticeable difference is that his belt with have twelve Seele Schneiders attached equidistant from each other. In his pockets will often be the Ginto capsules. Leto's reiatsu is also a metallic silver bordering on gray in color.
Quincy Cross: The appearance of Leto's Quincy Cross is quite average, when compared to other crosses. The design is gothic with a ruby embedded in the middle of it. Leto wears his cross on his left wrist so that it is easy to activate his Quincy bow with just a flick.
Quincy Bow: Leto's Quincy Bow appears as a recurve bow, which allows the wielder extra draw weight when compared to other bows of the same length. The bow is roughly sixty five inches from tip to tip to give it extra draw weight and power and is much, much longer when straightened. The arrows Leto use are simply just a straight line of reishi, nothing fancy about it. However, they are often heavily condensed and powerful.
Skills:
Reiryoku Absorption: Unlike Shinigami, who use their inner Reiryoku to fight, the Quincy fuel their abilities by absorbing the Reiryoku of their surroundings in the form of spirit particles. They primarily absorb them from the atmosphere, and have an easier time collecting this energy in environments with higher concentrations of spiritual particles, such as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. To a sufficiently powerful Quincy, there is no difference between spiritual particles and spiritual energy as a source of power.
Reiryoku Manipulation: One can manipulate spiritual energy for offensive purposes. They most commonly reshapes spiritual particles into various types of bow and arrows, but can also concentrate spiritual energy into the form of swords or explosives.
Quantity: Leto can fire a large quantity of arrows out of his bow, in the upper four thousands approaching five thousand, although he prefers not too since Leto prefers to try to conserve reiryoku. He can also fire up to three arrows at the same time if the need arises.
Path Control: Leto is able to curve and manipulate the path of up to five arrows accurately, if he exceeds five then the arrows will steadily become more difficult to manipulate and require more concentration.
Negation of Attacks: Leto can fire his arrows precisely enough to negate oncoming attacks if needed by charging his arrows with enough reiryoku.
Arrow Drill: By rotating his arrows enough, Leto can create a spinning arrow that resembles a miniature hurricane in force. It still outwardly resembles a regular arrow, but is many times stronger due to the rotation and extra reishi added in to cause and maintain the rotation. For defenses a normal Quincy arrow couldn't penetrate this easily can, "drilling" its way past. Leto can only fire these off one at a time, however, and cannot manipulate their path or else the rotation will cease.
Rain of Arrows: Leto, using a variation of path control that is more for saturation than accuracy, can fire off up to one thousand arrows into the air and then have them fall onto his hapless opponents, saturating them in a rain of Quincy arrows. He can also utilize this technique while firing off arrows himself to that his opponents will have to defend themselves from more than one direction.
Quincy Bow and Arrows: The basic Quincy ability to manifest a bow and arrow.
Hirenkyaku (Flying Screen Step): The Quincy equivalent to the Shinigami Shunpo and Arrancar Sonido.
Platform Manifestation: Similar to the way Hirenkyaku is used, Ragnar can gather spiritual particles around his feet and form a moving platform under his feet. Though he does not use this often as it requires a large amount of spiritual particles and/or energy to use, Ragnar has been known to use this to surf on occasions as actual surf-boards do cost a lot...
Seele Schneider (Soul Cutter): A Quincy sword that vibrates at high speeds, similar to a chainsaw, that allows the wielder to more easily steal reiryoku. They can also be fired like an arrow. With Leto's level, he can dual-wield Seele Schneiders in battle if he ever finds the need or the whim to.
Ransōtengai (Heavenly Wild Puppet Suit)— This is a high level technique that allows the user to control their body parts using strings of spirit energy controlled by their brain, forming lines or strings out of countless spiritrons. By using this technique, the user can control their body as one would a puppet, allowing them to move freely despite paralysis, broken limbs, or any other force that would impede normal movement. It was originally created to allow elderly Quincy to fight effectively.
Ginto: Small liquid-filled capsules that store spiritual energy, and are used by Quincy for spellcasting in the same way that Shinigami use kidō. Like kidō, they are activated by calling out various commands.
Ginto Techniques:
Heizen (Sacred Bite) --This technique creates a transparent, rectangular beam of energy from silver tubes which slices through the opponent. It is activated by the command:
"Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice - Sacred Bite!"
Gritz (Quintuple Restraining Frames) --This technique forms a man-sized pentagonal Quincy cross which envelops its target. It is activated by the command:
"A silver rod strikes the five-fingered stone bed - Quintuple Restraining Frames!"
Wolke (Emerald Grail) --This technique uses a silver tube to create a large blast. While it may not be intended for use as such, Uryū uses it to cushion the impact of a fall. It is activated by the command:
"Tilt the goblet to the west - Emerald Grail!"
Sprenger (Rippling Grass Formation)--This technique uses five Seele Schneiders to create a pentagon-shaped seal, which when activated causes a massive explosion within its borders. When an object or a person stands within the middle of the Pentagon can the placement of the fifth Seele Schneider trap them by wrapping and binding their legs to the ground with dense spirit particles. The Seele Schneiders function as accumulators, gathering the necessary amount of spirit particles to create the explosion. The liquid inside a silver tube acts as the trigger. The preparations for the technique combined with the charging time for the Seele Schneiders make its use in battle impractical unless the user has a partner that can stall to buy time.
Bio:
Leto's father was a Japanese businessman who traveled the world on his company's behalf. His father had met his mother, who was a nurse at a hospital and of mixed European descent, in the United States. As a result, his father then got himself a position in the company that didn't require as much moving as he used to do so he could settle down and live with his mother. Two years after their marriage, Leto was born with his father's last name and the first name of his grandfather on his mother's side.
However, since his parents were often too busy to properly take care of Leto and give him the childhood most others had, he was a single child and developed a rather distant personality. Although he was neither bad looking or unpopular, Leto didn't make many friends at school nor did he participate in many co-curricular after school clubs, mostly involving engineering and the such. And though he could see ghosts and the such, he often ignored them and refused to believe in something that 'science' had yet to prove. One day when he was just six, his father revealed to him a secret that not even his mother knew, that he was a Quincy, that ghosts were actually real, and that there were creatures known as Hollows who would attack humans and ghosts.
At first, Leto was skeptical but then his father had taken him out and chatted with a few ghosts here and there, which not only pushed Leto to believe in ghosts, his own senses confirmed it, but raised his reiatsu enough to begin attracting Hollows. When the first one came, he watched his father effortlessly dispatch the masked fiend and soon Leto was learning too. He easily mastered being a Quincy, after three years of training under his father, he surpassed him and continued to grow. By the time he was eleven, he was one of the ablest Quincies known, he had successfully mastered Ginto techniques, had the body of an Olympic triathlete, and a calculating mind.
When he had graduated from middle school one year earlier than his classmates, at the age of thirteen, Leto's family then moved back to Japan, partially because the schools there were notoriously better and partially because there were more Quincies there who could train him. As it was with his father, Leto soon surpassed his other teachers in the Quincy arts, even mastering Ransontengai, while keeping up with his school work. He was the top of his class yet he was silent and mysterious. Rumors quickly spread about him that he simply filed away as unimportant and ignored.
Graduating from high school and then moving onto college limited the time Leto had to train, yet it was during these years that he began to create his own techniques. Double-majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Physics, as well as a minor in Psychology because it interested him, after graduating Leto soon gathered together some of his brightest class mates and created Takahashi Industries with financial aid from his father, who became a shareholder. Soon the small company grew larger and larger and began to develop weapons. It was in the Industries labs where Leto often had created his own inventions. Also, during this time, much to the chagrin of the majority of the Quincy Elders, whom he had surpassed, Leto was chosen as the Leader of the Quincy, to train, organize, and lead them.
