She had asked Freed to watch the puppies, Pol and Sol. They could be rambunctious, and while her alpha trusted the red and black wolf to stay loyal, Ave wasn't so sure. He had, after all, been dubbed The Runaway, and she hated the thought that she might come back to her pack and their den to find the pups without someone watching them.
Samhain would kill her. Well, maybe not, but he would be very displeased.
As she broke from the cave into the soft light of dawn, she paused, wondering if she should tell her alphas she was leaving the pack lands. The female chewed her lip a bit before deciding to carry on. If she knew them well enough, they would just say to do what she pleased anyway, as long as it wasn't detrimental to the pack.
"So be it." she smiled, imitating Samhain's deep voice as she began to move forward. It wasn't long until the petite female was completely past the boundaries of the pack's land, and soon she was picking the best place in which to cross the river that largely cut off access to the sister packs from other wolves.
Shaking off after her dip in the river, she pounced forward, beginning to run. She let out a long howl, introducing herself to the world, as she ran.

Victory Vaughn had always easily been at the top of his game, of his siblings, close to his father’s power but whenever he got too obsessed with wanting more strength his mother would always remind him that ‘Strength isn’t what impresses the ladies…’ Then she would go and go about the females liking this, but not too much of that it was all just too confusing. After a short while Vaughn gave up even trying to impress anyone, probably wasn’t the best of thing since his own pack kicked him out!
A low growl erupted from the very thought of his father’s scowl, “You aren’t noble…” spitting on the ground Vaughn wished he had done that to his father on that day. Quickly enough the sound of a howl was heard, not too far away.
Ears perked instantly, it had been a little while since he had an encounter with another wolf being an outcast to the world is almost like having to go through being a pup again. Shaking gently Victory puffed up his fur starting a tort towards the direction of the howl before releasing his own to warn the wolf of his own arrival.

"Yes! Hooked someone." she grinned sheepishly to herself as she heard the other wolf howl back. The more deep, throaty sound informed her that the wolf she had attracted was most likely male, which caused Ave to grin wider. Interesting.
She had never been off pack lands. She had been born of an alpha in one pack, and pledged her life and loyalty as a teen to an alpha who had been permitted to take over half of her mother's land. It was all very dramatic, in the wide view of things.
She howled back, a shorter sound this time, and eventually came to a halt as she broke through the tree line and finally laid eyes on the male. "Hello there." she smiled, and introduced herself. "I'm Ave."

As Vaughn neared the trotting sound of the other wolf his instincts told him to turn back, one down side of not listening to your mother was a big dose of rejection when you did try to impress a female wolf. His movement slowed as the scent of a female wolf filled his senses, ‘Crap…’ breaking through the tree line Vaughn gapped at the female wolf.
What did his mother tell him to do again? “Good… are you… looking?” Wait no he wasn’t suppose to say that out loud! He could feel his body heat all over as his back legs started towards the tree line again, this wasn’t looking good. ‘No! I can do this… prove my father wrong!’
His front legs started to shake and before he had control of his actions he dashed back the way he came.

"What the hell?" she puzzled to herself, for he had run off. The other question forefront in her mind was if she should give chase, or just go home and chalk this up to a learning experience. That was kind of offensive! Though she had never met a wolf who wasn't in some way family, nobody had ever run from the sight of her before. And how could he be afraid, she was only a lowly omega, and acted as much, though she made an effort to seem a bit more bold as she was out on her own without anyone to protect her.
It only took a moment for these thoughts to pass through her brain, and she decided to give chase. "Wait!" she howled, knowing he would hear her, after all, she could still hear him crashing through the underbrush.
She sped to catch up with him, hoping that she could outrun him, and figure out why he was running from her in the first place. What an odd wolf!

Cringing at the sound Vaughn’s legs pumped further away from the sound, “This can’t be happening…” Growling Vaughn looked back for just a moment to see the movement of the female following him, he could easily out run her… “What am I doing?” he could hear his father’s words swarm his thoughts, things like you aren’t strong enough or noble enough or… Slowly Vaughn’s growling continued as he took a sharp turn trying to he didn’t know what but something in him told him to turn around and get behind the female, to take control of the situation.
Suddenly an idea popped up in Vaughn’s head, pushing his legs further to catch up to the female Vaughn let out a howl, “Victory! Victory Vaughn!” Letting out a pant Vaughn could feel his usually shiver and need to run away pull at his muscles, “That’s my name!”
Alright so this was easy enough, he just couldn’t be in site of the female or be anywhere close to it where he had feel for presences… ‘Gosh my father’s right…’

Ave skidded to a halt. She had no idea what to do, and the male was too fast for her to keep up with, much less did she knew what to do with him if she could manage to keep the pace next to him.
"Come on!" she howled, half in frustration and half begging him to come to her. She wasn't a scary wolf, unless he was the biggest coward in the entire land of Telk.
She waited, hoping silently that he would return, and that he wasn't just playing mind games with her before killing her brutally. Hmmph, stupid males, always playing games.

Panting Vaughn continued his run happily; he had spoken to a female! He had spoken to one and he had said something that wasn’t stupid or pathetic and she could understand it! His heart beat wildly as he could feel the air through his fur.
Vaughn’s ears perked up from the suddenly call out of the female, she had stopped? He was going to meet her again? Vaughn slowed to a tort closing the distance between him this new female.
“Hi…” Alright this was a lot different than howling to a female, before he could focus on running now he was trapped.

There, he was back. She eyed him cautiously, a skeptical expression clear on her face. She raised a paw halfway, as if the action of it would dissuade him from running again. "My name is Ave, and I swear to you I won't hurt you." she grinned, then, hoping that that might be a more friendly facial expression.
"Your name is Vaughn? I heard you yelling it as you ran." she stated simply, as if she did this sort of thing every day. In truth, she had never been out of her pack's borders before. She hoped that didn't show through her actions.
"Do you belong to a pack?" She doubted he did, due to his strange nature, but figured it was polite to ask. She hadn't come out here expecting to recruit, but, eh, whatever happened, happened.

Frowning Vaughn shook his head at the female, speaking was going to be hard for him but he had to force himself had to make steps through his fear. “N-no…” It wasn’t that he thought she was going to hurt him just that he was afraid in general of females of them over powering him? He really didn’t know.
“But my name is Vaughn…though…” Nodding Vaughn took deep easy breaths he could do this, he had to do this it’s not like he had a choice of running away again, that was just pathetic and cowardly. Taking a deep breath Vaughn stepped forward.
“I’m an outcast.” He didn’t know why he had to tell her but part of him believed she deserved to know why he wasn’t in a pack.

She cleared her throat. This wolf was awkward, and she had never come across anything like him. "Oh, well, I ..." she stumbled a bit, uncomfortable that any wolf would be outcast from their pack. "I'm sorry." she stated finally.
"My pack isn't far from here, if you need a place to stay for a while?" she offered delicately. She wasn't sure how her alphas would react, but Draka wasn't just her alpha female, she was also Ave's nephew's daughter. She realized that their family was very strange, and very sprawled out.
She wanted to laugh at this male and the cruel hand he had been dealt, but she didn't. Instead, she sat in awkward silence and wondered if the male was frightened of all wolves, or just harmless little females such as herself.

Nodding Vaughn agreed with the female, it was sad to lose your life and suddenly be an outcast but it had to happen he didn’t belong with them. His ears perked up when he heard the suggestion, he could but… But he didn’t know the alpha and he probably wouldn’t allow him in if he knew of his ‘fear’.
“T-That’d be… That’d be very nice of you but I… I just can’t do that…” His head started to shake back and forth and he could feel himself start to back up, the female seemed nice but she always seemed so defenseless out in the middle of nowhere.
A deep part of him knew that he was going to stay; he had to protect her if she needed anything and he knew he had no control over his need to be noble. ‘Stupid father’s teaching…’

Well, huh. If he really didn't want to go, he didn't have to. But she could definitely see her alpha taking this one under his wing as a little brother of sorts. He could really use some guidance on how to act as a wolf.
She wondered if it would make him run again if she asked why. Ave already noticed he looked as though he wanted to back up and flee again, but took it as a good sign that he hadn't yet.
"Well, our pack is mostly males..." she ventured slowly, guessing at the reason he was acting strange. "My alpha takes anyone, as long as they are noble of heart and willing to work for the good of the pack." she ventured once more, pausing to then say, "He would also not mind you staying with us a night or two, while you figure out where you wish to go." she finished, finally letting her paw drop slowly to the ground, causing the leaves to rustle a bit under the small weight of it.

Gulping Vaughn glanced around; this wasn’t going well she was getting closer to him. He could feel his shaking increase, biting his tongue Vaughn growled to himself no! He could do this he could make it through this.
“Um…” It sounded like a nice idea, in fact it sounded like he belonged to that pack where he could finally be himself, be happy even. Slowly Vaughn stepped forward; he could do this he was moving!
“Um, ahh sure…?” Quickly looking around the female Vaughn guessed it couldn’t be fair, or at least he hoped it wasn’t because he couldn’t promise he’d be able to stay next to or near the female the whole way back to her pack. He could feel his heart pumping faster as he closed the distance between him and this new female who was going to save him from his own loneliness, ‘Great I am pathetic…’
