Arianna bent her head to drink from the calm waters of the river near her home. Her familiar Wesley napped nearby under a bush, shading him from the sun that blazed high in the sky. It was a hot day, and she was desperate to find somewhere to cool off.
She had been lying in the shade, but this far into the day, there wasn't a lot of shade to be found. She thought about bathing in the river to cool off. Checking to see that there were no threats around to her or Wesley, she waded out into the river until the water was up to her shoulders. She held her wings as high as she could, trying not to get them wet.
She dunked her head under and resurfaced. The cool water flowed over her body, rinsing away dirt and dust. Her curly mane was now straight, and stuck to her neck and back, as well as floated on the water. She kept her eyes closed, and tilted her head back relishing in the refreshing coolness of the water. Her large golden wings were still mostly dry, only the bottom wings' feathers were a little wet.
Something made a noise nearby, and startled her out of her peaceful relaxation. She turned around quickly, looking for the source of the noise. "Who's there?" she called, a bit of alarm in her voice.

The allure of the water in the blazing heat had drawn London out to the river. Usually taking shelter in the forest or on the edge of the meadows, the river was a bit of a change in scenery for him. As he strolled onward towards the water the sight of the large golden wings caught his eye.
Never having seen such a thing before he stopped dead in his tracks, gazing out at the gold against the soft blue tone of the water. It was quite the beautiful sight and something he'd never expected to see with only the goal of cooling off in mind.
Finally regaining his composure he continued on towards the edge of the water, as he lowered his head to the surface of it he knew he's be found out when the voice rang out though the silence posing a questing. Quickly he raised his head again and made and attempt to stand and look proper. "I apologize if I've startled you. I mean you no harm."

She looked towards the sound of another's voice, and saw a dark stallion with a starry pelt looking towards her. She felt her cheeks redden a bit from the sudden appearance of a male while she was in the river. She wasn't sure why, but it felt almost embarrassing to have been caught exposed as she was.
She started towards the shore, still keeping her wings out of the water as much as possible. "Hello," she said to the newcomer meekly. "It's quite alright. I just didn't expect anyone to be around is all." She smiled slightly at him, and turned her back to shake herself, trying to rid her body and coat of excess water Now she'd have to let her hair dry, and it would return to it's beautiful curly self.
She relaxed a little now, not feeling so awkward, and turned back to the stranger. "I'm sorry if I seemed rude. My name is Arianna, and that sleeping ball of fluff over there under the bush is Wesley. Who might you be?" she asked, still with a smile.

He remained where he stood by the shore and returned her smile with one of his own, "I can truly say the same. I wasn't expecting to run into anybody on this little trip of mine." He watched her shake off, not so much to be rude but because he was lost in the glistening gold coat of hers.
He was completely dry since he hadn't even gotten to put one leg into the cool water that lay so tauntingly beside him.
He finally broke his staring gaze on her golden pelt and shook his head a bit, "My apologizes. My name is simply London. It is quite the pleasure to meet a lady as beautiful as yourself." He peeked over at the sleeping familiar to acknowledge that he was listening to it's name before retuning his attention to Arianna. "Arianna.. Quite a pretty name. I've never seen one as golden as yourself." He gave a soft chuckle after his words.

"Thank you, and it's nice to meet you too London. I was enjoying a cool dip in the lake. It's just so hot today. The water is a nice way to cool off." she said.
She smiled at his last comment. "Then you've never met my son, Ariashi. He bears a striking resemblance to me, with straight black hair." she said with a little laugh.
The sun overhead had moved lower in the sky, and a small breeze had picked up, rustling leaves on the ground nearby. Arianna's ears perked at the noise, and she sniffed the air out of habit to catch any new scents. "What brings you to the lake today?" she asked.

He nodded and smiled, "The cool waters was what lured me out into the open. My usual place of residence is in the forest, occasionally coming out to peek and get a that perfect view at the stars. The night is truly my domain." He chuckled softly, "This heat in the day can wear you down quite quickly."
His mind went back to the mention of the son, quickly he leaned down to take that drink he'd mean to earlier. Some of his mane sliding down into the water and feathering out. Once he lifted his head the wet hair stuck to his neck.
"A son? I didn't think to peg you as a mother. I don't mean that in a rude way, I mean it as you look quite young." He playfully threw the compliment in.

She watched him drink, and stepped forward to take some herself, her hair falling into the water again. She stood back up and turned to him. "Yes, what you say is true, but I do love to soak in the warmth that the sun gifts us. Sometimes it can be too much though." She chuckled.
She nodded at the stallion. "I have two sons in fact. They're both fully grown now, and off on their own adventures. I do miss them sometimes, but I also enjoy my freedom. How about you, do you have any family?"
Just then, Wesley hopped over to the two Soquili. He stopped at Arianna's front feet and stretched his front paws out in front of him on the ground, (think a cat stretching) and yawned wide. "That was a nice nap. Who's the new guy?" he asked, looking up at the stallion.
Arianna looked down at the little orange and black rabbit. "This is London. I've already told him who you are, little fuzz tail. Did you have a nice nap?"
He waved to the male, and walked over to the water's edge. He took some water into his paws, and washed his face. Then leaned down to drink. After having his fill, he went back over to Arianna, and climbed up onto her back, settling between her wings.
(I think maybe a couple more posts each and we can wrap this up. Meet and greets don't last too long. ^.^ Unless you have another idea. smile )

((That's fine with me ^^))
Shaking his head a bit with a smile he replied, "No children but I do have siblings. Maybe one day a family of my own could be a possibility. It would be nice I must say. Especially when I hear the good side of parenthood."
The small rabbit caught his eyes, he listened to it speak and chuckled at it's actions by the water, "Well hello there Wesley. It's a pleasure to get to see you awake even though you looked so content curled up in the shade asleep."
His eyes gazed out at the water, "Two sons off on their own... Ontop of missing them you must worry about them. The typical things of course, are the safe, are they eating well."

She chuckled lightly. "A mother always worries for her children. It's impossible not to." she sighed, missing them both.
"Well, London, I won't hold you up from enjoying your dip in the refreshing water. I hope you enjoy." she smiled to him, dipping her head in a friendly gesture. "I must be off. It was nice to have met you, and I wish you good luck in finding a family of your own one day."
She looked back to the rabbit on her back. "Ready?" she asked him. Wesley nodded to her, clinging tightly with his paws to the rings around her neck. "As I ever can be. You know I hate to fly." he said, with a gulp. Arianna chuckled again at the little rabbit. "It seems that you would be used to it by now." She turned her attention back to the stallion. "I hope you don't think me rude...Perhaps we shall meet again someday."

"Haha. I hope one day I will be able to have children to fret over. Of course, I won't be a mother. But, I'm sure it won't be much of a different feeling for a father." He knew of course he was very laid back in his nature so it'd probably get a lot to get him doing on a worry fit.
Looking at the mare and bowing his head in return to her gesture, "Thank you very much for the lovely conversation. I hope to enjoy myself for a long time to come. I don't think you rude at all. Maybe one day our paths will cross again." He stood at the waters edge and watched the mare waiting for her to take off, flight, it seemed like such a dream and was such a beautiful thing to watch.
(( xD And, I think that should do it?))

Arianna prepared herself for take off, taking a second to open and stretch her wings. She made sure she was clear of the stallion, and smiled at him again. "Perhaps we shall. One never knows what life's adventure has in store."
With that, she started a run, and easily pushed off from the ground and was in the air in seconds. After so many times of taking off, she had hers perfected. Graceful and flawless. She loved the feeling of being in the air. The rush of the wind, the clear blue skies, or even the threatening storm clouds. This was her domain. If she could, she'd never leave the air.
Wesley clung tight to his hold, and closed his eyes, burying his face in the golden curls. He was so scared of being up so high that he never could enjoy a flight, but he knew it was Arianna's favorite thing, and the quickest way for her to get from place to place.
Arianna did a circle around the area, and then took off over the tree tops, the figure of London getting smaller as she went. Even though they had only spent a few moments together, she would always remember their friendly encounter.
