Nova sat on a rock out in a field, watching the sky. A little pouch hung from one hand, filled with a strange fine dust. He was waiting to see if there would be any falling stars tonight... sometimes he came out to collect the dust that fell from them, and his pouch of stardust was slowly filling. He didn't know what he'd do with it, he just liked to have it.
Suddenly he saw a star go shooting overhead, and he jumped to his feet and chased after it, watching for any of the fine sparkling dust that he was hoping to catch, and not watching his feet.

Takourri lay sprawled out, staring up at the night sky. She often liked to come here and lay among the tall grasses to watch the sky go by. It was the perfect kind of quiet with all of Faetasia hushed and sleeping. The stars floated by in their lazy orbit as the pure let her eyes start to lazily close.
OOOOFFH. She tumbled sideways as a heavy form ran into her. Dazed, it took a moment for her to regain her senses. She realized slowly that another fae had come out here - and had tripped over her. "I'm so sorry! I didn't knwo anyone else came up here."

Nova went tumbling, luckily managing to save his bag of precious stardust. He rolled upright, looking around for what he tripped over, and his eyes widened as he saw the pure. "I'm so sorry!" he said, in time with her, and then blushed and let her finish before continuing. "No, it's my fault, really... I should have been looking where I was going. It's just, I saw a falling star, and I wanted to try to catch up to it..." He noticed he was babbling and stopped, his blush deepening.

"A falling star!" Her eyes brightened considerably. "I hadn't seen it. I must have dozed off for a moment. Really I shouldn't sleep here in the middle of everything." She blushed slightly and offered the male a smile. "Do you think we can still find it?" She was eager to see it, and pleased that she'd found something of a kindred spirit, a stargazer. "Can I ask why you want to catch up to it?"

He smiled back. "Well, I don't know. it's hard to catch them if you don't run after them as they're falling..." He laughed and shook his head. "Actually, it's hard to catch them even then. I'm just looking to gather some stardust, though, which is a little easier, but even for that you have to be pretty fast." He turned and looked around, before pointing. "I think I was running that way, though, so we could go look."

"Stardust.... wow I had no idea you got that from stars. How silly that I wouldn't know!" She blushed slightly and took his hand as she moved in the direction he had pointed. "Let's see if we can catch it!" There was laughter in her voice and a smile on her face. It had been so long since she'd felt so good! She'd nearly forgotten what it was like to be excited and the thrill of chasing a star was nearly overwhelming.

"Well, I can't see it anymore, but if we're really lucky it might have fallen near hear...?" He trailed off, and suddenly saw another falling star. He pointed to it with his other hand, the bag swinging wildly. "Look, another one! We might be able to keep up with it!" Without waiting for a response he took off, tugging her along if she didn't start running fast enough.

Her feet swiftly caught up to her heart and away the two went trailing after the falling star. The night was a blur, the sparkling stars above and the shadows dancing all around them playfully whirled together like some sort of vision from a dream. She felt like she was floating, flying, soaring! Her wings were pinned against her sides to speed up and she let go of Nova's hand to run past him toward the star. It plummeted to the earth and exploded in a grand display of color and warmth. Takourri skidded to a halt as the edge of the crater the star had made and turned to Nova. "What now?"

Once she caught up to him, he let go of her paw, holding his own out to try to catch the falling stardust. She quickly pulled ahead, the regular more focused on catching the sparkling dust than trying to catch the star. In fact, he almost dropped the stardust he'd caught when the star hit right in front of him, surprising him and causing him to stumble. He finally looked up, and his eyes widened. "I... I... I don't know! I've never caught up to one before, they normally land really far away..." Almost in a daze, he carefully poured the caught stardust into his little bag, tucking it away as he came up next to her to stare into the crater before them. "Do you think we should go down into it, see if there's anything there?"

Takourri was unsure and a little frightened of the fallen star. It exuded warmth that she could feel even from the top of the crater and it seemed so alien to her. "I've never seen a star up close." She reached over without thinking and took Nova's hand for comfort. Feeling reassured, she turned to him and said "We could get a little closer.." She waited for him to lead the way, not at all sure what they would face as they got near the smoldering star. Perhaps there was nothing at all, but then she noticed a trail of shimmering dust leading to the star. It seemed to be fading away, like ti couldn't stand ont he ground long. "Look!" she said, pointing to it.

When she took his hand, he squeezed hers, finding some comfort himself in it. He tentatively started forward, until Takourri pointed to the fading stardust. "Oh no, it's disappearing!" At that he ran forward, scooping some up into his free paw, before trying to scramble again for his little bag of stardust.

Seeing how frantic he seemed for the dust she threw herself to her knees also, scooping up what she can and offering to him to put into his bag. She found it all very exciting, trying to get the dust before it disappeared, and was thrilled to be sharing it all with the male. How interesting he seemed! What a fanciful hobby, chasing stars and gathering their dust! "This is amazing! You do this all the time?" She was clearly impressed.

He shot her a quick grin, before returning to collecting the stardust. As it touched their paws, it shimmered and stopped fading, but then they had to separate it from the normal dirt it was mixed in with. Finally the only stardust left was being held by the two faes, and Nova carefully finished picking out the normal Faetasia dust that had gotten mixed in. After a minute, he suddenly remembered her question. "Oh, what... Oh, no!" He laughed a bit. "I come out almost every night, but stars don't always fall. And this is the first time I've ever been near one!" He laughed again, a little of the earlier rush coming back. "Oh, we should check out the star itself! I bet it's cooled down enough we can get closer now." Satisfied that only stardust was left, he dumped it in his bag and stood, offering the girl next to him a hand to help her stand.

Cleaning the dust was a tedious task, but Takourri hardly minded. She happily deposited her share of the stardust into the bag with a grin. "I'm always out gazing at teh stars," she said after he'd answered her question. "I never thought to chase the fallen ones. I simply watch and sometimes I make a wish." She blushed suddenly, feeling foolish. She was happy to be distracted by the idea of approaching the star. She took the proffered hand and held it as they got closer. She was a bit afraid of the star, as she'd never seen one up close either and had no idea what to expect. "What do you think it's made of?"

"Wishing on them? I never thought to do that! Although I guess I sort of was wishing to catch some stardust, but that doesn't really count..." As they approached the star, he gave her a nervous grin, and then frowned at her question. "I don't really know what they could be made of... you know, I think there's a race of faekats that normally keep them from reaching the ground. The starcatchers, or something like that." He suddenly stopped. "Hey, you don't suppose they do that because their dangerous, do you?"
