Personality: Aggressive - Every new situation or relationship is instantly a threat. Malica's carnivorous ambition causes her to obsess over power and strength. Nothing inhibits her from throwing the first punch. What may seem trivial to most is, for Malica, a solid basis for beating someone's a**. She lives externally and her high tolerance for pain is a source of pride. Impulsive- Malica acts upon her emotions and has trouble reigning in anger and passion. Her first thought becomes her first action, causing her to make rash decisions that mostly do not end well. Malica believes that she is a mature adult, but her foolishness is childish and she lacks emotional regulation. Independent -If anything, Malica Drezyan can take care of herself. From scrounging up credits to making an effective kill, Malica is self-reliant to the point of defensiveness. Her walls are thick and she does not create long relationships in fear of losing her independence and having to commit to someone other than herself. Lost - Malica is convinced that she is satisfied, but is truly clueless as to who she is or ever wanted to be. She rarely reflects upon her life.
Appearance: Malica's charms are neither pure nor subtle; she views her physical features strictly in terms of credits. With a strong jaw line and elegant bone structure, her face seems aristocratic. She wears her black hair long, most often down and sometimes up in a loose twist. Her body is graced with feminine curves and is lean and agile. Her eyes are green and sharp, feline-like. Malica's most identifiable feature is the tattoo on her back. When pursuing bounties, Malica wears t-shirts, undershirts, flight jackets, and/or light combat suits. Her looks provide her with a strong manipulative power that she uses without discretion. She may have had an innocent, unrefined beauty at some point in her life, but it has been destroyed through exploitation.

CustomTechniques: Malica's combat style is blunt and aggressive, a mutt of various scraps of street training and animal instinct (with a strong streak of Mandalorian). Melee is her specialization, with some skill in guns. What she lacks for in brute strength, she makes up for in fluidity and stealth; the two traits she relies on most. By no means a fair fighter, Malica often uses tranquilizers or drugs, even if she is not collecting in on a bounty and is therefore relatively powerful unarmed. She only uses her specialized weapons in certain situations or when collecting in on heavy bounties. Her preference is either silent and neat or bloody and messy - no in between.

Malica Drezyan was born in the slums of Nar Shaddaa in destitution. From the beginning of her early childhood, Malica’s mother considered her child worthless and weak, relieving her own self-loathing and contempt for an absent husband onto her daughter. At age 16, Malica ran away from home, exchanging an oppressive yet moderately safe life for a dangerous and independent one, convinced by youthful optimism that she could face whatever peril presented itself to her. Despite the bravery of Malica’s rash decision, she soon discovered that street life was equally as harsh as living with her mother and distinctly more unjust. When news spread of a young woman living alone and unprotected, Malica was captured by slavers, sold to an underground crime organization of smugglers, bounty hunters, and crime lords, and added to their collection of enslaved entertainers – all females of different species, trained as exotic dancers and servants to the desires of men. Malica was eternally resistant to her enslavement; often beaten and humiliated into submission. After a year of this treatment and an encounter that left her permanently branded, Malica assaulted one of her captors, attacking him brutally and killing him. With no use for murderous girls, the organization planned to sell her back into the slave market, giving her to one of their bounty hunters to sell on the way to a mission located in Tatoonie. This, however, did not occur. The bounty hunter was a Mandalorian who had been interested in Malica ever since she’d been captured and having recently lost his wife and son in childbirth, was longing for a new companion. He told the organization that he'd sold the girl and replaced the false fee with his own credits, while actually leaving Malica on Tatoonie to live freely. Feeling indebted to the Mandalorian, Malica stayed with him, and became his unofficial assistant. However, with education came new knowledge and enlightenment turned into a double-edged blade. As her skills in assassination and combat became more refined, the thought of her former weakness overwhelmed her. Attempting to give sincere aid, her Mandalorian mentor implored her to forget her past, but Malica refused and ended their relationship. After he left her, she became interested in bounty hunting and decided to begin pursuing the career. When off-duty Malica supplements her income by dancing.

Their lineage can be dated as far back to an original Lorrell Raider, Devon Cor, who is attributed with producing two females who became leading political figures in the original Hapes Consortium. Since then, the name has been present in all state and military offices. When Lysistrata Cor gave birth to a healthy female child at age fifty one, she secured her place as the primary matriarch of the Cor family. The title, until Velyn's birth, was to be shifted to Lysistrata's cousin, Leliana, who bore a girl, Eva, only six months later. It was assumed that Lysistrata's child wouldn't survive, while Leliana, at twenty-eight and pregnant with her first child, would become the new leader of the renowned Cor line. Lysistrata was the mother of three sons before Velyn was born; at fifty it was impressive to reproduce at all, very well to birth a proper female heir that saved Lysistrata's immediate family from being dispelled from the Hapan aristocracy. Battling the rumors of scandal, Lysistrata claimed that she had hired a popular consort who had contributed to many of the noble families in the region, as a final attempt to maintain her title.
It is speculated that the head of the Cor family may have committed suicide. The single document that remains that could have a relation to Lysistrata's possible suicide is a personal data pad entry with a brief transmission to a remote residence on Datoonie to Dr. Arson Zaynex, the family's former physician. The true story remains uncertain and Lysistrata brought it with her to her death, which occurred three months after Velyn was born. Her death was pronounced as a result of childbirth complications. Members of the family and personal servants recall Lysistrata traveling along outside Hapan borders about three weeks prior, taking the child with her. Within two or three days they returned, with no visible signs of change.
Velyn was given to Leliana after her mother passed away. She grew into a quiet, serious, obedient girl. Unusually wise, it seemed that Velyn had recognized the series of events that lead her to Leliana's estate and that she had accepted them with a silent resignation. Leliana ignored Velyn for the most part, reveling in a victory over her cousin and in her new standing in Hapan nobility, until, at age ten, Velyn's behavior changed drastically. She became characterized by unprovoked bouts of aggression, aimed toward the servants who had raised her. When these attacks started to center on Eva, Leliana sent Velyn to a private academy without a second thought. It was her hope that the vigorous military training would eventually kill Velyn off. The school was home to girls, like Velyn, who had been displaced from noble families. She found herself in common company and flourished in her studies. Her behavior was managed - as punishment for outbursts, Velyn was not allowed to attend class. A dedicated student, this motivated her to better control her frustration. When still unable to suppress her aggression, she was lashed. Physical beating was the discipline of the academy to prepare the future leaders of the Hapan military to be sound in body and mind. At sixteen, Velyn graduated with top honors and was accepted into the Hapan Navy that same year.
Velyn was an excellent warrior. Her intelligence as a strategist and her acute combat form was invaluable to missions in the Transitory Mists and in matters of National Defense. At 18, she was asked to join the Chume'doro, the Royal Guard to Her Majesty, the Queen Mother and her family. Velyn accepted vigorously. It is said that the Queen Mother herself had a particular liking of the wise, loyal, and eloquent young woman. At royal gatherings, Velyn was seated near enough to the Queen Mother that the regal aging Queen could joke with the young woman about the antics she tested as a girl on Velyn's ancestor, Narcissa Cor, who had served in the Royal Guard for thirty two years. Much to Velyn's flattery, the Queen Mother mentioned what an honor it was to have a member of the Cor family serving the Royal Court once again. Away from the pitiless games of the aristocracy, this was the first time in Velyn's life that she felt truly appreciated. When the Queen Mother was asked, yet again, by the Galatic Senate for a representative from her planet, she was at a loss. Her advisers agreed that, with Hapes newly opened to the rest of the Galaxy, no senators could be spared from their perspective regions. They would have to search for a military leader to send to Coruscant until she could be replaced by a political leader. The position was extended to Velyn, who was astonished and intrigued by the offer. It was only a steward-like title, but should she complete the term successfully, a fine consort and an elite position among the Chume'doro was promised to her. Six months of training with Senator Amata Keone to insure that Velyn's knowledge of law and politics were up to par, and she was sent to Coruscant to begin her work as the first representative of Hapes in the Galactic Senate.//familyEva Cor//relationshipsWayanna Tsu//personalityVelyn is the epitome of restraint and grace. She is aristocratic, charismatic, and intelligent, a born leader. She holds herself well, never vulgar when in noble company. Her logic is swift and encompassing. She may seem stoic and arrogant. She exercises complete control of her thoughts and emotions to an almost machine-like level.
Velyn's true characteristics are well-hidden; she is impulsive, holds a vicious temper, and is completely intolerant of people she deems ignorant, which she does quickly and often. Her true characteristics and feelings are never displayed however, they run as a consistent undercurrent of the precise actions and gestures she chooses to show which usually conflict with her natural thoughts. Her better instincts have overruled this "unrest" she's called it, inside her, sometimes as their own contingent, although usually as a result of self-inflicted injury - a technique she picked up from her military training.
This emotional disorder, after many years of coping with it, has become manageable. Anyone who met her would not be able to detect it and most who know her are unaware that she has it at all. Her roommate in school once accidentally saw gashes across her back, quite a few more than administered by their teachers. She tried to confront Velyn about it and Velyn stung her viciously, calling her a b***h and telling her to mind her own business. That was the last time any signs of Velyn's inner conflict were shared.
