Iana had begun to live with her young nephew these days, watching over the cub as if it were her own child, still mildly distressed that her sister had sent him here on his own. She knew it must have been Unzu's doing. That b*****d probably thought only of himself and wanted this little darling sent away as soon as possible. Though she didn't dare as the cub about his father, she knew the cub appreciated her attention very much, and she felt sorry for him.
Still, it was nice to get some hours to herself, and she still went on weekly hunts, keeping trim and fit, her mind focused. She wanted to move up in the pride, not to remain a Huntress forever. Though little Zari required a great deal of attention, Iana still held ambitions for herself.
Today, however, she relaxed, resting in the shade, her pale peachy fur blending in to some degree with the golden sands, stretching out luxuriously. The area was fairly close to home, certainly public, frequented often by the hunters and huntresses of the pride. Iana didn't mind socializing. She still strove to integrate with the rest of the pride.

Returning from a patrol of the borders; which, really, was more or less a stroll with little to no hostiles managing to wander into their territory; Sphinx padded toward the nearby oasis. He'd managed to leave Horus behind in the temple, though he had kept checking over his shoulder as though ready for the feathered annoyance to come soaring to his 'aid' at any moment.
He swore that stupid bird thought he could take on a lion.
Eager for a drink, the Guardian stepped over to a clear pool and lapped up the water for a long while. It wasn't until he rose his head, licking the droplets from his lips, that he settled his eyes on Iana resting under one of the trees.
"Afternoon," Sphinx greeted simply, offering a smile. "Mind sharing some of that shade?"

Iana hardly noticed the brown lion slip into the oasis quietly, meditating in the peaceful quiet beside the water, out of the direct sun, out of the heat. Her senses were still heightened, but her mind was directed inwards, reflecting on recent events, tearing apart and molding everything together. Her ears perked up, however, when she heard the sound of another creature drinking water, and her eyes opened, blinking, vision honed for the dimmer light under the trees.
She returned his smile, nodding over to a clear spot in the shade beside her, her ears relaxing, flicking away towards other noises for a moment. She had never seen this lion before, but by his accent and manner she knew he must have spent some time here among the Dawnwalkers, if he weren't of the pride Blood himself.
"Of course. There's plenty for both of us," Iana answered, friendly. "Have you just come from a hunt?" she asked curiously, unable to distinguish by his appearance alone what his purpose might be, though he looked muscular and large enough to be one of the soldier types.
