Nestled between two mountain ridges in the Himalayas resides the last city of the Children of Dionysus. This city-state was created during the Last War as a home for the warriors and their families. It was also the resting place for the satyr Bells and their creator and protector. Un-fortunately, when Dionysus lost his war and was banished to Mt. Olympus his followers were banished from the country as well. The last Ancient satyr was able to hide himself from those that came to move the Grecians back to Greece. For hundreds of years he survived amoung the decaying city-state, hidden from everyone.

The bell hung from the sky blue leather collar, tinkling occasionally in the breeze. It had been hung in the entrance to the small half-ruined temple to Athene Nike, from which the cloying scent of incense drifted. It was quiet, apart from that, and the sound of murmured prayers echoing from between the caraytids that guarded the entrance.

A small bell, hanging at the very tip of a tree branch within the village, jingled slightly as the gentle winds drifted by. As the breeze died down, the bell continued to ring on its own signalling that it was nearly time for it to become something more.

Soon, the bell stopped tinkling, and it glowed softly. The glowing steadiliy increased in intensity and soon enough, a brilliant flash of light was emitted from the small object. And when that light faded, a young Satyr stood where the bell once was.

Only he wasn't standing.

Falling the small distance from the low hanging tree branch, the Satyr tumbled slightly when he landed.

"Ugh..."

Dizzily, he pushed himself up to his feet. He was still a little wobbily, but he managed to stand up nonetheless. Shaking his head, he looked down at his hands, feet, and tail. Blinking at them, he glanced around at his surroundings. It sure was a lot different than being inside of the bell for all this time.

He wasn't really sure where he was, or even what exactly he was, but somehow, he knew his name: Shinkan.

In a dark dusty corner, in a deplapitated old ruin, there lies a gleaming red and black bell. The bell is covered in a layer of dust and dirt and when it begins to tinkle the sound is rusty and muffled. Lying in the dirt the bell starts to glow, gradually getting brighter and brighter until, in a flash of light, it disappears and is replaced by a small dirty satyr girl-child. Much like her bell form she is covered in dirt and dust and is lying on the ground, curled into a ball. Slowly her eyes begin to open, blinking several times in the effort. She pushes herself up into a sitting position and slowly looks around, her red hair brushing against her fragile looking shoulders as she does. Suddenly she disappears.

Desdemona sat very still while she looked around her. The place where she was was familiar, and yet it wasn't. She didn't know much about herself; she knew what she looked like, though she was sure she'd never seen herself; she knew her name, though she'd never been called by it; and she knew that she could blend in with the natural scenery around her, though no one had told her that she was able to. Slowly she got to her feet and decided to find a way out of this ruined building.

Shinkan snapped out of the slight trance that he was in from staring at everything around him. After a little longer, he decided to go wander around and try to see what else there was.

A part of him had an urge to run... really fast, and he knew he could do it easily, but for now he managed to surpress that feeling. He still needed to find out more about this place, so taking it slow may be a better idea.

Once reaching the top of a hill within the area, the Satyr blinked as he saw several run-down houses in the distance. It didn't seem like anyone was living in them anymore. In general it didn't seem as if anyone else was around.

Right now, the only other living beings he saw were just some birds and a few small animals.

On a branch in the heart of the small village, a small violet colored bell tolled as the wind caressed its smooth exterior. But... abruptly the calming silence was about to be disturbed.

A blinding flash swept through the nearby grassy plains and nearby homes. But as quickly as it had come, it was gone. In it's place sat a small indigo colored satyr.

Aquina blinked rapidly as she sees the twinkling stars gazing down at her. She tilts her head curiously and runs her hands over the grass she sat on. She sighed contently and decided to relax a bit before she went out to explore this odd place.

((short post right now before i go to bed >.<))

Dez stepped out of the building she had awakened in and looked around her. All around there were buildings that had fallen down a long time ago. *What type of town IS this* she wonders as she sits down and rests her back against the house. *There isn't another being that I can see, and from the looks of it there hasn't been any for years.* Thinking this she tilts her head back to look at the night sky. The stars shine brightly and she sighs, her whole body relaxing as she does. *They really ARE beautiful, I'd love to have a necklace with gems that bright.* She continues looking at the stars for a few minutes before her eyes slowly begin to droop. After several minutes a small satyr with red hair and black horns and eyes appears as if from no where, looks sleepily around and then curls up into a ball and falls asleep.

Nova emerged from the shelter of the half-ruined temple, leaving the incense she had brought to burn. She had intended to bring a kytos to dress the statue, but... ah, such were the pressures of the flesh. She lifted a hand to pluck the hanging bell from the beam that she had hung it - then abruptly withdrew it. The bell was icy cold! As she watched, sheilding her eyes from the bright light, it's shape shivered, and changed. As it fell, she streched out her arms, gratified to feel the weight of something in them.

As the light subsided, she blinked rapidly, making out the shape of a small satyr. Nova lowered him gently to the floor, as he stared at her.

"I'm Fehlimidh" He announced, folding his arms across his chest. "You may call me Fedh"

Sitting down onto the soft grass at the top of the hill, Shinkan continued to look around at the vast area before him. Although it was dark and hard to see things, he wanted to explore this place. But for now, he just remained where he was.

From time to time, he would look up at the sky instead of the ruined village. The stars were nicer to see than the broken down buildings, and they were also a little more interesting. But something told him that he wouldn't be able to go and see these tiny lights up close on his own.

After a little while, Shinkan stood up again. Stretching out his limbs, he ran down the hill and made his way towards the buildings ahead of him.

When he reached the closest crumbling home, he stopped to catch his breath a bit. Using his speed boosting ability was more tiring for him than he had thought, so resting seemed like a good idea for him.

The Satyr stepped a little closer to the old outer wall of the home, then sat against it. Soon enough, he fell asleep.

Fedh cocked his head to one side, his ears pricked. He could hear voices... so many voices... all around. Then he turned his attention back to the woman facing him. She looked a little curious, but not really suprised.

But then, people and creatures growing out of animals, bells, rings, and even little stones was a matter of course to Nova. The dryad raised a delicate eyebow, then spoke:

"Fedhlimidh? Beauty. I would say it was fitting, but it seems it would inflate your ego even further then it already is"

"That was impolite. I see I will have to educate you correctly"

"Educate me? Child, I think you will be the one being educated" Nova ruffled his hair, laughing. "I think you're stuck with me, no?"

Slowly Dez's mind began to think and her eyes began to flutter. Finally she yawned and stretched her arms over her head, bending her back into the stretch as well.
*It's not even light yet... though why should it get light? Maybe my mind is wrong and this is a world of darkness. A whole world of darkness, with no one here but me, that would be a fine place. I could do what I want, when I want and there would always be dark to cover me. I think I will live like that, it will be simple, more so than trying to do what I do not want to. And now I want to look around.*
Standing up the Dez looks around her, trying to decide which way to go. Disappearing again, as is her custom, she heads off to the left, down what appears to be a road. For several minutes she walks along, weaving back and forth across the street in a zig-zag pattern to amuse herself. After about 15 mintues of walking she reaches the end of the road and sees what appears to be a forest in the distance. Forests do not appeal to her, even if she can easily hide in them, so she turns around and starts to circle the buildings, checking to see if anyone else is around. Then, against one building's wall there was another like her, but a boy. She stops in surprise, so surprised in fact that she reappears for a small second before recloaking.
*Another like me... but it is a boy. What a strange thing.*
Dez tilts her head to one side and slowly creeps towards the new oddity. He is sleeping rather peacefully, much like she had been just a while ago. Carefully, so as not to wake the creature with any noise she leans down and peers into his face. His hair is red like hers, but a darker red, and his horns are dark like hers as well. She stands back up and moves to stand by his legs and, being careful to stay fully cloaked, she lightly kicks his shin.

Waking with a bit of a start since he was sleeping soundly, Shinkan looked around to see what had tapped him. Blinking when he saw nothing in the area, he slowly stood up, wondering what had just happened to him.

Frowning when he didn't see or hear anything, he shrugged as he shook his head. He must have just been... feeling things or something like that.

But now that he was pretty much wide awake, he figured he'd take a look around. The darkness didn't really bother him too much anyway.

So still completely unaware of the other Satyr nearby, he walked around the building he had sat against, looking for a door to go inside of it.

Seeing the boy get up and head around the house Dez follows him, but only so far. A few feet away from him she stoops down and picks up a few pebbles, putting them in her pocket before he notices the floating rocks. With them safely hidden she takes one out and throws it at the wall, making a loud noise.

((Gotta go after this post))

Hearing a loud noise, Shinkan turned around. Frowning when he saw nothing there again, he twitched slightly since he was starting to get a little annoyed. There had to be someone else in the area, though who or what that could be, he really had no idea.

Thinking for a bit, he thought he just needed to catch this thing in the act.

How he was going to do that... he also didn't know. But he figured he'd know once he actually got around to that. For now he just needed to bide his time or whatever.

Shaking his head, he turned back around and continued walking.
