I dont care what anybody say. Super Smash Brother Melee needs to be online they should re-release it and put online on it. It would be awesome. It would be the same game but with online, i will kill everybody. HEAR MY WRAITH. Its all about the Yoshi.

Nintendo doesn't seem to particularly fond with the idea of having their games go online. This would be quite cool, I would love to kick some butt in Melee with people around the world, but there is little chance of seeing this on the Cube. Perhaps this is something that can be hoped for on their next console.

I doubt they will re-release it onto the GCN just for online. If they were to make a new SSB title that goes online, it would be on the Revolution.

Why?

Gamecube's onlineness has already gotten a bad name, and starting to make games for it now would be pointless do to the possible release of the Revolution in the near future.

Suppose the Revolution tries something like a long-distance wireless play that's not on the internet, for example, every Revolution would have a "phone number" on it or something so you can challenge your friends from far away. I don't know how they would do it, but it would be cool if they could.

But then it would cost a lot of money, considering that XBox Live is a subscription. If the wireless feature were built into the Revolution, the feature might be unknowingly abused or mistreated by little kiddies who don't know that these things cost money.

It should work like this:
Get a username.
Host a room or join a room.
Beat the crud out of each other.

... in my opinion.

I was thinking something a little more one-onone, more like a cell phone than internet. You would need a memory card to store your data to an online game... actually, you're right. It's a bad idea. sweatdrop

That's the exact kind of thinking that Nokia had when they made the N-gage, and look how that turned out? Probably the crappiest system that ever came out. Yeah, it is a bad idea.

I think it would be a great idea however it shouldn't cost tons of money. I think it should just be like you are online and buying the adapter or whatever counts as your subscription. I mean Nintendo makes enough money as is.

I think Nintendo should make a new Smash Brothers for Revolution. Don't know about online, but I haven't seen a new game in the series since Melee, so I don't really care as long as I get it and it's fun.

I dunno. As great as the idea sounds, I'm just not feeling it. Melee was a great game, but I'm darn sure that I'd be feeling the enjoyment of it more so if my friends are there with me. Some games just wouldn't work online. :-/ sorry.
