Why are we so ignored? Tubas,Baritones, and Trombones. Come on! There are tons of topics on Flutes and Trumpets(and others) as if they are harder to play and more often chosen. At many schools the low brass is more than the flutes and trupets. At my school we've got 21 low brass people, 6 flutes, and 10 trumpets. Yet we still get ignored. Does any other low brass people get annoyed by that?

Trumpets to me are annoying. Pus not only trombones run the band. It's also tubas and baritones. We are the most ignored here.

Our low brass section isn't ignored, we just don't screw up as much as the other sections. Yeah we occasionally mess up, but we don't get away with it. Ever. It just sort of depends on your BD I guess.
and it does get annoying having to explain what a baritone and/or euphonium is. ai hate it even more when I say I play baritone, and they ask "oh you mean bari sax?" burning_eyes
I just tell them to google it. I stopped explaining a looooooong time ago

Our low brass tends to be the goof-offs. ESPECIALLY trombones. So it's mostly, "Low brass, play out," or, "Low brass, stop screwing around," so it's mostly negative attention. =P
This year, it's gonna be a pretty small section, so I wonder how it's going to be... There's gonna be about four tubas (two, including myself, that are picking it up this year and normally play woodwinds), 2 returning trombones, and 3 returning baritones (I don't know their freshmen yet).
