It seemed like a good day to just get away from things. Parvati knew that her mother had her paws full leading the pack and raising nine pups, so she didn't think she'd mind the break from at least one. Parvati had spent so much time always tagging along with her mother everywhere she went that she started to develop a rebellious streak, always running out of the pack lands or getting into trouble, making her father rather worried. He didn't seem to tell her mother, though; she seemed sad enough a lot of the time. The only times Parvati saw her smile was with her father or one of her siblings. And her, of course.
This day was no different from her other devious days. She just wanted to go check out a really big log that she had seen on her last venture out of the pack lands, and it's not like she was going too far. Just far enough. And then she'd be right back. They wouldn't even miss her, and she grinned as she complimented her sneaking capabilities.
Yellow paws beating against the dirt, she kept a hard pace until she saw where she was going. To her, there was nothing more important than her destination, so she didn't stop for a second, not even when she saw a toad out of the corner of her eye. She leaped on top of the log and stood triumphantly, her brown coat blending rather well into the wood.

It was the thud of paws on the log above his head that woke the pale wild dog, a long, wide yawn stretched his youthful maw and wide, bleary silver eyes looked up to contemplate the noise and ultimately the arrival in to this little sanctuary.
The pale dog had lain down under the shade of this very large log just a few hours ago, deciding a nap was a good idea before he tried to hunt for anything. He was young, barely in to his juvenile stage but he was out alone in the world, protecting himself, caring for himself, hunting for himself. It was a hard life but one he was ultimately enjoying.
"Hey, you woke me." He yawns again, his voice simple, calm, he wasn't angry that he had been woken, more curious as to whom had done the waking.

Perking her ears up at the sound of a voice, Parvati was rather alarmed at first. Pressing her head against the log, she was convinced the the log was talking to her, which was a scary thought in and of itself.
Scratching lightly at the surface of the log, Parvati wanted to make sure she wasn't going crazy. "Heeeeeeello?" Sniffing the log, there was a distinct scent of someone else there, inside the wood.
"Who's there? And why were you sleeping on such a happy day?" Slamming her rear down against the log, she was determined now to make the other come up and talk to her, now that they were awake.
