In the stillness of the early morning, Oliver started out for the treehouse. Though it was still dark, he knew the way well enough to make it there without the help of light. He wanted to leave early enough to get there at sunrise. He wouldn't be late; oh no. He was much to excited to be late. In truth, he hadn't slept much the night before. Today he would be hunting with Brightshadow. The prospect of getting out and hunting again was enough to get him anxious, but the fact that he was going to see Brish again.. after having not seen her in so long... His heart beat faster and he began to run through the forest now.
The sky was already beginning to lighten though the sun was not yet visible in the sky. He slowed his pace as he, knowing he would soon be at the tree they had built the treehouse in. The memories of that place were in the front of his mind now. He let out a small sigh as the tree came into sight.

Brightshadow had not slept at all, currently she was sitting on top of the treehouse, staring in the direction of the rising sun. She had spent the night sweeping all of the leaves and dust out and organizing her ribbons, going through the treehouse again and again to make sure she hadn't missed anything.

It had been so long she had visited the treehouse, so long since she had seen Oliver. The memories washed over her as the stars began to disappear above. She reached down to grab a peice of string to play with while she waited, her excitment making her grow restless at sitting still any longer.

Her eyes widened in surprise as her fingers closed about not string but some sort of twig. Hadn't she gotten all of them? She lifted it up to throw it from the tree when she glanced at it, gasping in dismay and trying to snatch it back again as her fingers realized their prize into empty air.

Nearly falling off of the treehouse, she just barely managed to snag the end of the twig with a fingertip, quickly hauling it back to cradle it in her hands and look it over to make sure she hadn't broken it. It was the mistletoe she and Oliver had played with last-what was that Twoleg holiday? Chrissymas? She held it up in the predawn light, wondering if Oliver would like it if she hung it up somewhere in the treehouse.

Would he? She paused, unsure what to do with it. They had hugged when they saw again, but was that just a hug or was it something more? Again, it had been so long, the mistletoe, and the treehouse, they were more than memories, weren't they?

She shook her head, letting those memories fill her mind again. A smile touched her lips and she determined to hang the mistletoe up after their hunt. For now, she went back to excitedly awaiting the dawn, and Oliver.

( I hope I'm remembering the right Namrah with mistletoe XD )

Silently, Oliver made his way up to the large tree, looking up at the house like structure they had made in it. He watched intently for signs of movement inside. His plan was to surprise her, possibly sneak up on her, but he doubted he'd be able to manage that. Though he was a master of stealth, he knew Brightshadow's senses were better than any normal Namir's. She'd probably already heard him approaching, but he decided to go on with his plan, just in case she hadn't noticed him yet...

The sun still had not shown itself, and the darkness beneath the tree gave him a nice cover to execute his plan. He moved swiftly to the tree trunk and grabbed onto the nearest branch, quietly he made his way up and finally he leaped into the tree house and landed with a soft thud.

(XD yep. Some other Namir had been holding it up over other namrah owo and these two got pulled into it. I need to go back through and log all their in thread rp)

Lost in her own thoughts, Brish didn't notice Oliver's arrival until she heard the thud of his entrance. She crept back from the edge of what could be called a roof, folding her ears back and peering through a crack to see Oliver down below her, looking as sneaky as she now felt.

With a smile, she eased her way down from the roof behind him. Tiptoes too human for her, she dropped down to all fours to pad over to him, her tail lashing softly. She couldn't tell if he'd noticed her yet since he was facing away from her, so she continued slowly until he either made a move or she reached him.

(Her plan (If he doesn't notice her) is to rub up against his legs all cat-like and meow at him XD )

Staying in a crouch, Oliver looked around the room, his eyes seeking out Brightshadow's form. After scanning the room, he slowly moved to stand up straight and took a few steps forward. "Hmm..." he breathed out softly as he wondered where she was, thinking perhaps he was early and she hadn't arrived yet. He had arrived a little early after all, but it couldn't be helped. He had been far too anxious to wait any longer to come.

He slid his hands into his pockets, ready to wait for her, when a soft sound caught his attention. He again scanned the room in front of him, not expecting anyone to come from behind.

She froze when he scanned the room again, one hand hovering over the floor as she waited for him to turn around and see her. When he didn't she set her hand down and scampered lightly over the floor for the few steps remaining between them.

Taking a deep, though quiet, breath, she slid forward to rub first the side of her face, then her shoulder, then hips, and finally her tail in one fluid motion against the side of his leg. When she'd gotten to her tail she sat and curled the tip of it around his ankle, blinking up at him with wide eyes before offered a purred, "Mrow?" 83

Having still not caught sight of her, he scratched at his chin then shrugged. "Ah well.." he spoke, not hearing the sound of her closing the distance between them.

At feeling something against his leg, his instinct was to attack, but he stopped himself luckily. His gaze shot down and he froze at what he saw. Adorable... that was what came to mind. She was absolutely adorable. As her tail wrapped around his ankle, he could feel his face starting to warm. He was never one for blushing, and he didn't now, but the thought that came to mind next was almost enough to make his cheeks turn red. He wanted to grab her up and hold her close at that moment, but he somehow refrained.

"Brish..." he managed to breathe out as he reach out to gently stroke her face. Taking another breath, he managed to shake whatever he was feeling, and retract his hand, but not before touching his thumb to the corner of her mouth. His jaw muscles contracted as he fought any urge he had and finally he managed a small smile, though with his muscles still contracting, it likely looked pained.

"Ah..there you are. I thought at first I might have beat you here. You surprised me," he laughed, the feelings that had made him tense finally subsiding.

Brish stayed still, looking down at his hand when it touched her face, feeling a strange sensation shiver down her spine when it did. Resisting the urge to bury her face in his hand and slide closer to him still, she slid her gaze back up to his when he let go. Her jaw almost followed after the retreating hand as she finally replied softly, "Yes?"

Her brows furrowed in confusion when he gave her the strained smile, and she opened her mouth to inquire about it when he continued to speak. She wondered if she had done something wrong in sneaking up on him.

It took her a moment to hear what he had said next, forcing her worries to the back of her thoughts as he seemed to return to normal. "I did, I'm sorry," she replied, sounding truly apologetic as she continued trying to get his pained look out of her mind. She hadn't meant to hurt him, she thought, the corners of her mouth turning up in her own sad smile, she just wanted to show him how happy she was in seeing him after such a long while.

He watched her face carefully, noticing her expressions. "Don't be sorry." His expression relaxed and he was finally able to smile softly. "I don't mind being surprised by you at all," he laughed a little and reached his hand down to help her up to her feet. The smile she gave him almost hurt him, she was so genuine in her actions. Not like so many others who were fake. He hoped she hadn't thought he was upset with her, as that had never come to mind. How could he ever be upset with her...he cared far too much for her, though he had made sure not to make that quite so obvious. He didn't want to scare her off after all.

He lowered his eyelids as he looked at her for a moment longer, the expression on his face now revealing some deep affection. He quickly shifted his gaze to the light that was now growing brighter, not wanting her to see exactly how he felt. "You ready for our hunt?" He looked sideways at her, a more playful smile taking over his expression.

She accepted his hand and deftly swung herself up to a standing position, taking a moment after she was up to let the hand go again. "If you're sure..." she said, twitching one ear lower than the other and lightening her own smile to match his.

Her eyes blinked slowly as she thought she saw a change in his expression, but he turned away too quickly for her to really see what it was, making her blink again more quickly as she wondered still what was wrong.

His playful smile reassured her somewhat, and she returned it with a sly grin, "More than ready, how about you?"

He was glad when she grinned at him, glad she didn't seem worried for any reason any longer. He gave a nod and stretched his arms out in front of him. "Quite ready. I hardly slept at all last night, I was so anxious about today," he confided. He removed his quiver from his back and set it down with his bow. "I thought we might try without this stuff first. See if I'm as capable as you without all my gear."

He folded his arms across his chest. "I also had an idea, for a game of sorts we can play later.. after I get used to hunting without a bow, and you with one." A small smirk spread across his face.

( Wonders if this will turn out like the game of Tag from 10th Kingdom >3> )

"I didn't sleep at all," her grin widen, since that wasn't any different from normal. She was naturally nocturnal after all. But even if she wasn't she probably wouldn't have slept at all, she'd been so excited that she'd spent the entire night sprucing up the treehouse.

Her golden eyes followed his bow to the ground, her excitement building even more when the image of them racing through the woods on all fours just like they would have back with her clan flashed into her vision. She immediately shoved that thought from her mind; she knew she wouldn't be going back, it wasn't fair to pretend as if she was.

"A game?" she mused slyly, flicking her tail as his smirk quickly drown out her previous thoughts, "What kind of game? Or is it a surprise?" A mischeivous smile spread itself across her face and she rubbed her hands together eagerly trying to think of what the game could be.

(what happens in that? owo)

"Is that so?," he laughed lightly, thinking she didn't seem tired at all for having been up all night. Though he understood, no way would he allow himself to be tired for this. He wondered if she preferred staying up at night anyways.

Oliver could read some of the excitement she felt from her face, though he didn't know the exact reasoning for it. He was still glad she was excited, for whatever reason.

He nodded in reply. "Yep, a game. I think you'll enjoy it. I'm not going to tell you exactly what it is right now, but it obviously has something to do with hunting." He laughed. "Don't try to figure it out or you'll ruin it! ..and you need to re-teach me to hunt." He placed his hands on his hips. He hoped he still had some skill for her kind of hunting. He had gotten so used to walking on two legs, he thought he might have forgotten how. He wondered if maybe he should take his pants off for their hunt, but then pushed that thought from his mind. Taking his pants off in front of her seemed a little scandalous, even is she was always without clothes. The simple act of undressing made it seem worse.
