The Church of Fede The Church of Fede, one would expect that a structure built for a Prophet would be grand and luxurious, one would expect that it would be built on the top of a lofty hill to show off its grandeur, one would expect that it would have several priests and wise men running to and fro within it, but then one would expect far too much if one thinks this is the only way Church’s are built. Situated in the heart of the Tranquil Forest of Rebirth is a temple made out of stone and wood, supported not by nails or cement, but by the very veins and roots of the forest. It is an ancient wonder to behold in this modern time, the temple itself seems to be detached from the passage of time itself, it is cradled within the very bosom of nature where the earth is its nurse and the elements is the milk that it suckles from the land, nourishing it and giving it power far beyond what any mortal could ever imagine let alone possess and used for selfish purposes. Though, however quiet and devoid of human life it may seem to be, the temple is home to Rosso Sapientis, the High Priest of Fede. Other priests visit the temple and Rosso but only the High Priest himself truly lives there. Rumors say that he has learned to tap into the same powers as the temple does, and is now immortal, but he simply laughs this off saying that to become immortal is a thing no mortal should strive to possess, for if a man is made immortal he would lose sight of life’s beauty and mystery. But still the rumors persist, and still the High Priest laughs it off, his life in the temple may seem solitary and boring, but he says that life is what you believe it to be, if you believe it to be boring, then it shall be, if you believe it to be beautiful, then it shall be. Amidst the rise and fall of leaders, amidst the countless wars that has been waged, amidst lifetimes and generations, the temple has stood as a silent observer, and even Rosso has not yet understood all of its rich history. But as the battles escalate, as the powers of the nations start to grow, and as creatures thought to be mere legend start to suddenly exist, it seems that for the first time since its creation, the Church of Fede will no longer be an observer of the events that happen in front of its eyes, rather, as the storms of war start to envelop all, even the lost temple will become a field of battle in the near future. And whether or not it will remain standing after the tides have swept over it will be based on the actions of Fede's High Priest. Meditation 'Missions'- Simply put, these are tasks you can do to earn items and such for your RPC. The format is as follows: - Number of words in the post, - Description, and - Reward. 'Missions' ListQuote: D - RANK - 300 words - The Church of Fede exists almost outside the realm of time and space; it is in itself a miracle to behold. However, few people see the true Church, what they often see is the image the magic of Fede has used to hide the Church from those who are not worthy to see it. It is an illusion superior to anything that mortals can be produce, it deceives all of the senses and even when one has already searched the entire Church, one will never notice that it is an illusion. However, dispelling it is relatively easy, simple observe the image used to conceal the Church, it is as ludicrously simple as that. Simply see it, feel it, and imagine it, knowledge begins with observation. - The illusion will be lifted from your RPC’s mind and they will gain entrance to the true Church. C - RANK - 200 words - People do not go to Churches simply out of boredom, what is it that made you go to the Church of Fede? What fueled you to search for it, here in the middle of nowhere? Knowledge is the product of honest questions and the desire to answer them. - A single item of your RPC will be elementally imbued, adding power to its abilities. B - RANK - 400 words - After you have found your answer… was it sufficient? Was it enough to quench your thirst for knowledge, for answers? Or perhaps, you desire more? Perhaps, you seek knowledge to answer future questions? Perhaps, you wish to expand your knowledge for the betterment of yourself and those you care for? Or, perhaps you are content with what you know and don’t know? Think about it wisely, for the prophet Fede frowns upon those who lie to themselves. - The item previously imbued, may be upgraded, such that a new ability is added to it, as well as once more increasing its other abilities. Or a new item can be elementally imbued. A - RANK - 600 words - Of course, gratitude must be given to those who deserve it. But, who deserves gratitude in this case? Do thanks belong to Fede for inspiring you with such thoughts? Or do they belong to you, and you alone, for you were the one who came up with the answers, all by yourself. Think carefully about your answer, knowledge is for all, but who deserves the thanks for it? - A pouch containing a dozen feathers and roses. These are of course, no ordinary items, and are in fact manifestations of Rosso’s life and manna force, given to your RPC to use as they please. S - RANK - 1000 words - Upon giving thanks to those who deserve it, the High Priest will ask your RPC a rather personal question. What is missing in your life? Simple and straightforward, he will ask you whether or not there is something missing in your life; take care in answering this, because as stated before the prophet Fede frowns upon those who lie to themselves. - Your RPC will be given a Manna Orb, a small, hollow, glass pellet filled with pure concentrated manna. It is powerful enough to outright kill someone, or save one from near death. Its uses are limited only to one’s imagination, and it can be refilled by allowing it to feed off one’s manna reservoirs.

Aiko walked slowly towards Church of Fede. The church of Fede. The church of my faith... Aiko marveled at the splendior of it all. It itself did not seem to be old even though it was old, more like it held history from the beginning of time behind its doors. The epitome of what the fayth stood for. It beautified life in nature, simplistic in its role there.
Aiko stood stunned in front of the base of the structure. Vines and branches were artfully and naturally embedded in stone and wood walls. Flowers bloomed and brushed against it if the wind blew in the right direction. I can't believe this place isn't full of people right now! There cannot be a more beautiful sight as this!
Aiko placed her hands on the doors of the church. Already she felt the strength of her fayth growing, as well as herself. But she didn't open the doors. She just stood there, eyes closed and palms warm on the door. She was too scared to enter. Her fear was irrational, yes, but it was her fear all the same. Aiko slowly backed up until she was only a few footsteps away from the doors.
She sat, right where she stood, legs crossed and senses alert. Her shadow returned to its rightful place underneath her, merely as a shadow should be. Magic does not belong in such a place. Aiko thought of all she had been through; swimming with Katya, coming to the empire, and meeting her new teacher. She thought long and hard, then blanked her mind. What do you have in store for me now, Fede. Aiko closed her eyes, dropped her guard, and began to meditate.

Aiko opened her eyes, a smile on her face. She didn't even have to be in the church to feel such joy and love for life. She noticed every beautiful thing around her without having to use her eyes or heightened senses. She felt the blue jays in the tree to her left making a nest ready for a new arrival. She felt the foxes burrowing in their den behind her. Never before had she been so keen to her surroundings.
Aiko stood up and dusted herself off. With newfound confidence, she walked right up to the doors of her fayth and opened them. What was inside had her dumfounded. If she thought the outer walls were beautiful, she should've opened the doors sooner.
The walls were all made of weathered woods, all different shades and types. Flowers blooms and buds clung along the walls. The ceiling was merely a canopy made of the surrounding trees. The floor was covered in strange, tiny flower buds that lit up when stepped upon and gave off a soothing scent of different flowers. Lavender... Thyme... Honeysuckle... Aiko tried to label every scent she could smell after a few steps inside.
There was not a single alter, nor cross, nor any type of statue of the fayth. Aiko understood that there was no need nor reason for such a thing, for the symbol of Fede was all around her. In the middle of it all stood the tallest, broadest, oldest tree she had ever seen. Probably as old as the structure, if not older. It might even be the oldest tree in the entire forest. Aiko marveled at its sheer beauty, for its branches did not hold leaves, but flowers. In even the slightest breeze, a number of pedals would float around her, caressing her where she was bare.
Aiko dropped to her knees. "THIS is true beauty." Her whispers in this empty place didn't echo, but seemed to be absorbed by the building. Smiling even more brightly than before, Aiko crossed her legs, straightened her back, blanked her mind and meditated once more.
[[I’m sorry. There was no description of the inside of the church, so I made one. If I wasn't supposed to, I'll erase it...... Just tell me so.]]

[Just an announcement. I'm working on what you can sort of call 'Fede Meditation Missions'. I'll be adding them to the first post once I'm done.]
[That's alright, the temple is pretty big, so you can simply say that you entered through one of the temple's hallways.]

Teishoku hadn't been wandering around very long. Only about 20 minutes when he came across the most amazing thing he'd ever seen. It was as though the forest itself had created the structure. His nature rune started to tingle as he gazed in wonder at the impossible building before him. This is what I've been looking for. This place is..... well, its beautiful He thought, completely astounded by the look and energy that the temple was giving off.
Teishoku saw that the intricately carved door was open, so he walked inside. With each step closer to the door, he was hit with wave after wave of emotion, feeling, and thought. Nature....Beauty....Peace....Preservation. What in the world is this place? He wondered to himself as he walked in. The temple felt almost as alive as the trees and earth that made it. It responded within his head. Teishoku, Beggar Sage of the Naturia. You have entered Fede. You have entered Life. At the last word, Teishoku's hand transformed of its own accord.
Fueled by the power of the temple, his nature rune glowed a dazzling green. His fingers felt tight as they turned dark brown and became coated with the bark a bark like substance that seemed to be as hard as stone. He felt power pulse within as the transformation not only encompassed his fingers, as he was used to, but his whole hand, then his arm. The transformations continued up to the shoulder, then grew across his right pectoral and stopped. It looked as though his hand was in fact a large tree branch made of the darkest bark. He stared in wonder at the power he knew was not his own. He flexed his fingers and turned his hand around.
This is the power you could possess if you stay true to me. All of your skills boosted beyond anything you could imagine. The temple said, its gentle but booming voice echoing in his head. It took him a full 30 minutes of him standing there, right in the entrance, to realize that his eyes had never opened...

Aiko was blissed. The church was warm and well scented. Nature had its own wonderful melody, so there was no need to hum. She was confortable in her almost dream-like state. She felt the shifting in the stars and the moon's different faces. She felt the clouds holding water pass right over the dessert and empty themselves in the mountian valleys. Aiko felt connected to every aspect of nature, and now knew her active hand in it all. Heaven...
She inhaled deeply, and her guard shot straight up. Oh hell. She smelled human, and whoever it was was somewhere nearby. She rose out of her sitting position, careful of any stiff limbs. Then, with the speed that no human could keep up with, she climed to the top of the tree in the middle of the room. She sat there, in perfect stillness, and waited for whoever to show. I won't kill or harm, I won't kill or harm...
Aiko felt a shift in power, then smelled a new odd scent mix with the smell of the human. Oh, am I ******** or what.... Aiko prepared herself to pounce, hoping that she could at least defend herself against this new force.

Teishoku opened his eyes finally and strode in. He continued into the structure, going from hallway to hallway looking for a spring or pond. He felt unclean, which made sense, because he was unclean. His bathing habits had been gleaned from his beggar upbringing, and old habits die hard.
In a small room to the side of the structure, he found what he was looking for. A spring of the clearest waters. He removed his League of Beggar's sash and laid it carefully to the side. Then he took off his shirt and shoes and strode into the water. When the water hit his body, he cringed, first because he had just realized that his filth would make the water unclean. Second because the water was so unbelievable cold. He continued to walk in, because he'd rather be frozen, than unclean in a place such as this.
Once again, he closed his eyes and began to wash himself, letting the water glide over his body and soothe the pains of his travels. He slowed in his cleaning when he made an unbelievable discovery. The water was healing his wounds. Scars from his childhood were disappearing on contact. The pain from his fight with the tribal warrior was completely eradicated. He opened his eyes to find another discovery. The water was still just as crystal clear as when he'd stepped in. Only now he was clean. Fede...Fede is life...He thought, almost mechanically. His next stop was to find the priest, for he knew that the only way to be closer to this...closer to "life" would be to do the will of Fede.
He stepped out of the water and sat down to air dry. I could really use that Wind rune... he thought slightly annoyed. His runes only seemed to awaken during intense strain or in the face of death. He hadn't been training in a while and his last near death experience only lasted a few seconds. He looked up to Fede, wondering if a diety could quicken the evolution of his magic.
All this he thought while he meditated. His heart rate was slowed. He was taking in everyth-Wait a minute what the hell! He stood up quickly. He sniffed the air with his beggar's nose. He began to look around. It could've been the priest, he wasn't sure, but he was no longer calmed. Someone was in his midsts. Someone was invading his sanctuary....and he did not like being spied on...My soul is with Fede now he said with a calm that was not his style. Show yourself, and I promise you will not be attacked. Teishoku paused in his searching. woah....that doesn't sound like me at all....what have I gotten myself into? He inhaled another breath of....not air...but life. Its Fede....am I being manipulated? he wondered to himself. I have to find that priest He started to walk off....all but forgetting about the intruder, when the smell pervaded his nostrils again. Someone was definitely here..

Aiko was shocked to see her teacher step through the church doors. What did they tell him? Did he follow me here? Is he upset now? She was just about to crawl down and make herself known when he took his shirt off. What the.... Ahh, he does look good.
Aiko couldn't help herself as she continued to stare at her teacher as he proceeded to wash himself in the church spring. She marveled at the muscles in his back, and how any scars the water touched instantly began to clear. I wonder if it does the same for emotional scars. She continued to stare as he got out, water dripping lushishly off of his body. Ahh.... No, no no. You are in a church. No such thoughts. She mentally shook herself, but couldn't help but think about the nature of his body.
Aiko continued to stare when started calling for her to show herself. Ahh. I guess now it starts. She tried to fall out of tree to land on her feet, but ended up getting her clothes caught on a branch and landed on her hands and knees. She stood up to dust herself off and to examine her shirt. It was ripped directly in the middle from the edge of her bra to her belly button. Awww I liked this shirt. She turned her leg as she inspected her shorts. Well. Seems I've lost the use of a pocket. She shook her head then looked back up at her teacher and waved. Oh. Well, hiya! You, uh. You kinda startled me while I was meditating here earlier, so I hid. I didn't know if you were friend or foe so it seemed pretty smart.... Why didn't you tell my you were of the same fayth as me? Aiko kept fidgeting and avoiding looking at his face, afraid that he would somehow know that she was only thinking about his naked chest.

Teishoku once again found himself gaping at the vampire girl that had dropped from above and landed directly in his life. He tried to be mad at her, because when she showed up, all hell had broken loose in his forest. She was also a vampire, a fact that she failed to mention on their meeting. He tried to hold that anger to him, but all he found was beauty. It was as if Fede had put a veil over his eyes preventing him from seeing anything but the beauty of the things around him.
Teishoku smelled the air around her. He didn't want to ever get her scent confused with someone else's. If she ever tried to kill him, she wouldn't be able to sneak. His eyes closed once again, drinking in everything that was Fede. He'd found something very sacred and he didn't want to lose focus just yet. He was scared that he might not get it back again. He inhaled deeply, letting his chest rise and fill with the life that pervaded the church. He breathed out. I am with you Sage. You need not worry The voice said in his head.
Teishoku opened his eyes again, fairly sure that his connection with Fede wouldn't be severed by his own thoughts. His eyes flicked around, quickly resting on the form that was Aiko. He tried to make them leave her chest, but he failed so miserably that he stopped trying altogether and just hoped she didn't notice. I wasn't the same faith. I've never heard of this place. I just walked in and.....He paused to think about it. Well, now i'm of this faith. He continued Now, my question to you is... he paused again. She was staring at him. At his chest. Oh hell...So much for a student teacher relationship. How's that supposed to work if all we do is check each other out. He cocked his head and looked at her in a way to tell her he noticed. Then he took out one of the needles on the bracer he kept on his right wrist.
He stabbed his arm, jabbing the needle in and out with a agile flick. He wiped the blood on his fire rune. The rune drank in the drop of blood quickly and the red of it began to spread along his fingers. It painted his fingers a deep red stopping at the end of each knuckle. He was about to activate it when the rune started to glow and change. For the love of Fede. I don't need this right now. Can't it wait? He thought, agitated that the Ent's magic as screwing with his abilities. But at his thoughts, the rune stopped moving and dimmed to its normal red.
Teishoku silently thanked Fede for the help. Guess deities can affect powers. he thought decisively. He heated his hand up to the point where very small flames flickered off his fingertips. He then ran his hand over his chest and back, then pants and legs. They dried instantly. He doused the flames, but since he couldn't find any living things to glean blood from, and he wouldn't have taken any from such a place even if he could, his hand stayed red.
He walked over and put on his sash, then his shirt and shoes. He looked at her while he dressed. Hoping she got the idea. No, relations with students...not even the hot ones... He thought...regretting the thought despite knowing it was right. I'm gonna go look for the priest now. You can continue what you're doing if you like. He began to walk through the halls again. Hoping that Fede would somehow guide him to the right spot.

Oops. He noticed. But his obvious unconfortability was not her main concern. Aiko followed behind him. How could you not know Fede? Fede is beauty and life and all things good! She looked down at his hand. And the fire thing... How'd you do it? Was that the rune thingy you told me about before? Were you the unknown power I sensed before? She stopped trying to keep up and stood in the middle of the hall. Well, there is no priest here. At least... Not yet there isn't. If you need me for anything, I'll be by the tree. Aiko turned back to the main hall where she was first meditating.
Wow. He was kinda rude. But she knew better than to complain. Aiko was in his territory for no reason and probrably just messed up his whole entire day. It was reasonable for him to be upset with her. She pouted a little. The least he could do was say so...
Aiko climbed back up into the large old tree. Heights have always been her thing. She streched out on a branch, soaking in the sun's final rays. It's getting dark. How long have I been meditating. She shrugged, glad that she had spent the time knowing life. She smiled. Never before had she been so happy. She looked up at the sky. Fede. Know that if you need anything, you can call on me. Aiko closed her eyes, seeking her connection with the world once again.

Teishoku was still struggling to stretch out with his senses and find the priest. He wanted to counsel badly. He needed to understand this place and he feared that if he did this by himself, he would fail. He tried to identify the reasons for his lack of calm and focus. It was in that vampire girl. Although she was technically his, he still felt uneasy about her. He couldn't shake the feeling and it was ruining his perception of the things around him. He decided to confront her so he could meditate without distraction.
Teishoku walked back into the main room and sniffed around. straight up he thought, his senses guiding him into the air above him. Sure enough, she was just where she said she'd be...in a tree. A very large one. Teishoku's eyes roved the tree for the small frame of the vampire girl.
Aiko! He called, making sure she could hear him loud and clear. Here is the deal. As it is now, you're weak and liable to get me killed. I don't plan on staying here long, but I need you to do so. Its important that I have Fede on my side, and I can tell from your love of nature that you're better equipped for the task than I am. He paused. Trying to figure out how to word this properly. I want you to be the one Fede counts on whenever the God needs something. I want Fede to grant you the greatest powers it can bestow. You are to be Fede's chosen one, and no matter what the priest of Fede says, you must persist until you have been granted that title.
Teishoku took a breath. He was vaguely annoyed by the whole ordeal and although Fede had been in his life only these last few hours, already he was feeling drained. He decided to sit and rest. He leaned against a tree and slid down till he was sitting. He jumped however when he realized that his still red hand was about to set the tree on fire. He knelt down and blew on the tree, putting his hand against it to feel whether it was still hot. Thats when it happened...
The tree wasn't hot. It wasn't even warm. It was ice cold to the touch. Teishoku stared at the tree for about 30 seconds, his mouth contorted into a confused expression. He smelled the tree...nothing. In fact, now that he noticed the first abnormality, others were started to become clear. His sense of smell was distorted. He could smell plants that couldn't even survive in this environment. The only definite smell was his student, up on the cold tree. How could she not notice? He thought, starting to shift around and turn quickly looking for other things wrong. I knew it! I was being manipulated! His mind roared. He was raised in the Genkaku clan. A clan of illusion beggars. Even with his limited skill he shouldn't have let this happened. He broke off a piece of the bark of the tree. It turned into a whiff of smoke. His anger at being tricked clashed with the peace he thought he'd obtained. He cried out. Damn You Fede! Who are you!Teishoku instantly blacked out.
((ek, i've no idea what the 'real' Fede looks like, you're gonna have to describe it when you wake me up 'priest'))

Aiko felt wonderfully connected with the world around her. She knew when the sun had gone down and the nocturnal ones had stretched and went out hunting. Only once was her peace disturbed, when her teacher had made the decision that she would become closer to Fede. A chosen one of Fede? Gain godly powers by them? HA! Like that could even happen. She shook her head in order to clear her thoughts. She was perfectly content with being nothing more than a devote believer.
Aiko climbed higher up into the tree and stretched out on to a sturdy branch. She was very glad that she had found this church and its beautiful surroundings. Be weary, my child, for not everything is not as it seems. Aiko was instantly on high alert. How could someone come in here without her not smelling them? The voice was neither masculine nor feminine, so it was hard to determine friend from foe. Aiko jumped out of the tree and landed perfectly on her feet. Oh, so now I can land properly. She took a quick survey of her surroundings. There was no scent outside of hers, her teacher's, and a faint one of a man.
Aiko scratched her head and leaned against the tree, thoroughly confused. There is no sign of anyone else here. Where did that voice come from? She closed her eyes, hoping to clear some of her confusion. Be wise, my child, for even your senses can lie to you. Aiko opened her eyes from shock. The same voice has startled her, just as distant and clear as before. A thought came to mind. Fede? Would you like something from me? Be wise, my child, for even your senses can lie to you.
My child! Aiko almost jumped from the sheer thought of it all. My child! She almost instantly understood that Fede was trying to warn her of something. Not all is not what it seems.... Even senses can lie.... Is there an illusion somewhere? She took a deep breath and caught the scent of her teacher. The strength of it told her that he was nearby. But a quick survey of the area told her otherwise. Even my senses could lie to me... Aiko sat down, her back against the tree. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the scent of her teacher. If I can at least smell him, then I’ll be able to find him soon. She quickly cleared her mind of any and all thoughts of the beauty and comfort of the apparent church illusion. She felt the surrounding area shift and distort itself. The room was no longer comfortably warm, but oddly cold. The tree she was against didn’t have its bark-ish texture, but was smooth and cold. Finally, the scent of her teacher was clear. Aiko opened her eyes, too tired to focus on any one shape around her. She glanced beside her and saw her teacher passed out on his side. Hey… I found you… Finally exhausted, Aiko fell right to sleep.

”That certainly took you long enough.” came the sudden voice of a man, accompanied by some light clapping, most likely directed towards Teishoku and Aiko. As the illusion was dispelled by the two, Rosso Sapientis, the High Priest of Fede, was now slowly being shown to the two. The young man, around his mid-twenties, stood just a few feet from the pair, his face looking at them with a fatherly smile, though they would not yet be able to see his face at the early stages of the dispersal. After a while he stopped clapping and pocketed his hands, his image gradually becoming clearer and clearer, going from a simple gray silhouette to a clearer image. His short blonde hair, his eerily young appearance, and his rather un-priestly clothing, started to become more and more defined until the entire illusion was completely dispelled. ”I trust congratulations are in order, as well as introductions. But, this is hardly the place to perform them, agreed?” with a playful smirk, he snapped his fingers and hastened the dispelling of the illusion covering the landscape.
From behind him, the scenery and the landscape seemed to slowly shatter like glass, creating cracks in mid-air, creating several shards that slowly fell off, one by one. This phenomenon then repeated itself around Teishoku and Aiko as well, indicating that everything they had seen, touched and sensed was a mere illusion, crafted by the mysterious powers of Fede. As the second and last part of the illusion slowly disappeared, a bright flash was emitted from beneath the ‘wall’, disintegrating it entirely into dust that flew out into all directions, sparkling in the air. With that gone, the true structure of the Church was now visible to Teishoku and Aiko’s eyes.
The grand structure is made entirely out of stone, spherical in shape when seen from above. The roof is supported by pillars, beautifully crafted with carvings of ancient text from all across the land, from different Empires and from different time periods. The pillars were placed equally around the circular base; a total of nine of these supported the Church of Fede. Behind them was the Church itself, the outer wall visible from between the gaps of the pillars. The wall bore varied paintings, seemingly unrelated to one another, however, they were in fact arranged to form a cycle, starting from one’s ignorance, rising into one’s thirst for knowledge, climaxing at one’s acquisition of knowledge, falling out to one’s arrogance, before ending back at the start. But what is depicted is merely the outside of the Church; one can only imagine what is inside of it.
”Ah, there we go. Now, allow me to lead the way.” Rosso spoke as he slowly turned and walked towards the Church. He stopped in front of one of the four massive gates of the Church, one for every direction. Compared to the other parts of the Chruch, the gate was blank, and void of design or beauty, with the exception of a single line of text on top of it, that read ‘From nothing, came something.’ ”So, are you ready to enter then? Or perhaps you’d prefer the comfort of the outside? It’s a beautiful place I’ll give you that, though.” Rosso jested as he waited to the two to follow him.
