Character Name: S'kagi
Age: 21
Sexual Orientation:Straight (may consider experimenting but atm only thoroughly boozed up, or otherwise coaxed. Being hold born, he's a bit more uptight, but especially now he wants to fit in.)
Craft/Rank:Weaver Apprentice ((And lousy at it.))
History: There are a number of untoward rumors involving Saekagai's father, who equally conveniently happens to be missing. None of them ever affected Saekagi himself directly, since the man disappeared early in his memories, but if the grumbles and whispers bandied about hastily over cups of Klah by drudges and other women of the hold are true, the man turned nasty as soon as alcohol entered the picture, and he -liked- alcohol. Exactly how he came to no longer be in his son and wife's life is an matter of equally closed lips, and Sae himself doesn't actually know if the man was simply 'encouraged' to leave the hold or even outright the victim of silenced mob justice and buried somewhere around the grounds of the craft hall where he and his mother served and trained.
Unfortunately these rumors didn't make a particularly deep impression on Saekagi, who originally was searched at Ista Weyr. He immediately fell into the worst crowd possible, escaping the up tight lifestyle his mother had reared him in, and at every chance, getting into trouble... and alcohol, wherever he and his companions ((Many weyr born and with an unfortunate sense of entitlement)) could beg borrow or filtch it.
His behavior turned bad, fast, and there was debate of just packing him on home... which became even hotter after 'the incident'.
He wasn't unaware even of his father's bad reputation, but like many youths, he assumed that such things just didn't apply to him. After all, wasn't he special? Hadn't he been searched? Clearly he was nothing like his father. Or so he thought until, while drunk, he tried to steal a kiss from a disinterested drudge, and when she resisted, made a grab for her. In the resultant short, panicked scuffle... ((She was admittedly a nervous thing to begin with...)) She slashed open the side of his face repeatedly with a broken cup. Truth be told, a good slap might have done just as well, but it was an highly sobering moment for Saekagi on almost every level.
The girl was large in part alright, though her escape left her with a cracked wrist when she was abruptly let go and slammed into one of the tables, but Saekagi was in need of notable attention from the healers, and had come within a hairsbreadth of loosing an eye. He also plunged into a black depression, ashamed of his own behavior, and no longer blind to the resemblance to a man he grew up hating from vague stories told by his mother.
This deep shame and depression may have been a notable contributor to why he wasn't simply sent home as he expected to be, though he was quietly sent to Trine instead when his injuries healed enough for travel, especially after the girl came after him a second time, apparently a little unhinged by the experience.

Saekagai, having very little clear memory of the event, assumes only the worst about his behavior, and doesn't blame her, and has entirely sworn off ever drinking alcohol again if he can possibly avoid it.

His impression came as an overwhelming surprise, and S'kagi was one of those who broke down into tears on the sands, holding his beautiful dragon.

Description: Saekagai spends a lot of time trying to hide half of his face behind his somewhat long, thick black hair, trying and largely failing to hide the still red, mostly healed scars on his face. If he smiles, ((currently rarely)) it's lopsided, since a deep slash on the side of his mouth still aches, and twists his smile on that side anyway. His brown eyes are sincere, and are an open book to his emotions, which these days, are largely deeply depressed, cautious of hurting others, though occasionally he can be coaxed into warming up briefly, giving a small glimmer of the much more vibrant man he's capable of being. He shows signs in spite of the scars that he'll be handsome enough when he's fully an adult, though not as much as he could have been.

Personality: Saekagi occasionally shows glimpses of who he is, or was, capable of being. Warm, friendly, and occasionally politely flirty, he's a much different person sober than drunk, and at the moment, usually almost cripplingly depressed and deeply guilty. He loves a good cup of Klah, which is his current guilty pleasure.

He still loves the dragons, and is a bit jealous of the bonded and their unconditional affection and completeness, especially feeling so keenly aware of his own shortcomings, though he's admittedly not at all fond of the craze for flits as pets, since he figures they mostly get into trouble, and he can do that well enough on his own.

He's not embarrassed to have come from a hold, though he is sheepish about lacking his mothers almost magical skills in the craft, feeling as though he somehow failed in this also by not picking it up on it with her legendary ease, but he does have a need to excel, and now more than ever, to both follow the rules himself and make sure others follow them also. Isn't he a good enough example?

Although his scars will also follow him until his dying day, he's equally determined not to ever allow a similar incident to happen on his watch, and has no patience with the inebriated, who can count themselves to be reported to authority at the first sign of trouble, and even less patience for signs of abuse, an already unlikely affair in close knit Holds and Weyrs.

As he heals mentally and physically, these traits will show more and more, though he'll likely never fully get past random rounds of depression and guilt, his sense of duty and the driving need to apologize by his actions, (an desire he'll never feel is completely fulfilled) will be the force that allow him to keep going, even in the darkest of moods, and he'll lean on others to temper him from going to extremes on the other end of the spectrum as the mistake he made during his candidacy.

--------------
Coming from the craft halls, Saekagi is actually surprisingly bad at what he was apprenticed in, and can make one hell of a mess with the loom, though he grew up watching his skilled mother weave incredible patterned cloth, the art seems to be just beyond him.

Although straight, and hold born, Saekagi might actually be coaxed into 'experimenting'. He's distressed, lonely, and wants to fit in. Someone offering comfort may be able to play on this, deliberately or otherwise, to get him to go further than he previously might have. How this would play out in the long run would depend on the RP.

Luvith is
Size: Average
Build: Below Average

Name: Luvith
Color: Crimson
Animal: Promethia Moth
Personality:
From the time she first sensed wounded Saekagi, Crimson Luvith knew who was meant to be Hers with unfailing clarity. She sensed in him the potential for so much and the desire for support, two things this feisty, loyal crimson wished to provide. You see, that deep guilt pains this dragon and when Saekagi falls into his depressions she is first to respond, curling about him in a protective wall of love and care. She’ll rebuff his self depreciating comments and strive to encourage that he forgive himself and remind him that the very fact she’s here means she sees so very much in him. However, her support does have its limits and when he’s being particularly stubborn about something personal she has no qualms about harassing him until he comes out of his funk, even going so far as to bodily pick him up and dump him in a cold bath if she thinks that will help.

That said, she’s well aware that Saekagi is far from perfect but that doesn’t stop her at all. She’s unfailingly loyal and intensely protective of her S’kagi and can be quite forceful if someone seeks to insult or injure Hers. Luvith is agile of mind and quick of tongue, both witty and cutting when she wants to be and it is this intelligence that allows her to so swiftly handle imbeciles and to say the right things to Hers. She also loves a good joke, reveling in the bonding that laughter so often creates and she’ll push S’kagi to participate, sometimes even forcing him into situations he might not otherwise engage in without her influence. She also loves to fly, and to flash the bold patterns of her wings that she’s so proud of.

S’kagi’s desire to succeed is matched in her, and she shows little to no intention of breeding – the fighting wing is where she belongs. Her ambition and drive will echo, and perhaps even come to stoke the fires of her rider’s own sense of drive. His tendency to apologize will grate on her nerves, however, as she believes he’s paid enough and should accept the past, use it to grow, and move on as a better person – it’s an image she can see with absolute clarity and it confuses her as to why he seems so hung up. After all, the only opinion that should count in his life is hers, right? And she’ll always be there for him.

All in all, Luvith brings soft-yet-hard love to the dynamic that could eventually heal S’kagi and right now, that’s her goal. She also brings a more feminine outlook to the relationship that could help S’kagi grow. Beyond that, Luvith strives to bring them both honour and prestige in a world that is ruled by Traditional Colours and old fashioned ideas.

Relationships:

G'brel: The first fellow candidate I've really spoken to at Trine. A very energetic girl and... unexpectedly very forgiving. ...maybe it's a good sign about the transfer? Maybe there's some hope after all.
...it's not like -that-. She's way younger than me!
((This last bit seems to have been an after thought sort of scrawl in case of snoops.))
--She impressed a really handsome blue when I impressed Luvith!

Kelvari (of Silver Sakath):
...Oh Shards. My bunk mate is a girl. The one that impressed the silver that mauled several people. I think I'm doomed.

Clutch:

User Image
Thanks to the staff and Jet for setting up this visual chart!

Ray of Sunshine Egg - Sitting in the corner of the clutch, this egg seems to be observing all of those sitting around it with either a watchful eye of delight or one of scorn. It's hard to tell as the feeling one gets from touching this shell changes quickly, though the overall sense of dedication and pride that comes with being a gold can certainly be understood. This egg is very clearly going to hatch a Gold. Gold Serlaith to Moira

Fresh Dirt Egg - Directly across from the Ray of Sunshine egg rests a massively large egg, one that would be hard pressed to be mistaken for anything other than a bronze. The overall feeling from this egg is one of pure gentleness with a hint of...well, hunger. All hands as welcomed, if not encouraged, to touch this shell over and over for a feeling of reassurance and a rumble in their stomachs. Bronze Scarath to Silbakor

Bared Fangs Egg - The egg seems oddly appropriate with this one. There's a sense of stubborness to the point of irritation here... and a definite MINE mentality, though over what is uncertain. Throughout the weeks, this egg has sat stubbornly upright and refused to move despite being nudged. Size indicates a blue or a green. Green Viridith to Kyros

Grassy Plain Egg - The first thing you notice about this egg when you touch it is a sense of surprise. Not fear, but genuine surprise, as if the egg didn't expect you find it. There's a sense of transparency and selflessness in this one, and a quiet strength. A very intriguing little egg, its size indicates a blue or a green. Green Dynith to Optheli

Loud Echo Egg - Loud and insistent sums up this one. Whomever touches it is greeted with the impression of singing and calls, perhaps the dragon is particularly sociable? Size indicates a large blue or brown. Brown Linnaeth to Salin

Shirking Violet Egg - This egg sets nestled amongst its companion eggs as though it were trying to make those around it look larger and more vibrant. When touched the egg gives off a pleasantness that can certainly put a person at ease, though there is a touch of hesitation if a hand stays on the shell a bit too long. Second touches yield the same result as the first, though perhaps not as stressed. A rather small egg, this is certainly a green. Green Toulonth to Falleren

Battered Wing Egg - The little dragonet within gives the impression of being mild and contemplative. There's a pleasant feeling about this one, so much so it seems to shy away from the more forceful personalities that greet it. Brown Tytoth to Auren

Mellow Daisy Egg - This one... almost feels as if it hasn't quite made up its mind yet. There's no strong emotion one way or another and it's surprisingly neutral, perhaps even appraising, in its reaction to those who touch it. Could it just be a more reserved individual? Went Between

Withering Leaf Egg - Touching this egg before you've touched the one to it's left or right in order will result in the feeling of complete and utter disappointment. It seems like whatever is inside absolutely abhors things that deviate from a routine and a pattern and is likely to be generally grumpy to all hands during the touching. The size of this egg indicates it could either be a large brown or a bronze. Bronze Plexith to Devlin

Watching Eyes Egg - This egg is set off from the rest of its clutch, likely either rolled there by the Queen or somehow moved by its own violation. It stands upright and gives off a feeling of aloofness when touched, one that suggests the dragon inside either doesn't want company or simply doesn't need it at all. All hands are welcome, provided they aren't streaked with dirt or sand - in which case this egg is not pleased. Likely a blue or brown. Blue Lifth to Gabriel

Tree Bark Egg - WHAT'S THAT!? There's a decided sense of insatiable curiosity about this one, almost as if it's greeting each and every person who touches it. Those who touch it more then once will likely realize the egg seems familiar with them. Maybe the dragonet has a good memory? Size indicates a green or a blue. Brown Violith to Sheridan

Gentle Breeze Egg - A feeling of straightforwardness can be felt from this egg, along with a mixture of impatience. Each touch renders a feeling that whatever is inside would probably rather be doing something else than sitting on the sands, though there never is any cruelty behind each sensation, instead a general feeling of being bored and wanting adventure takes over. A fairly small egg in size indicates this to be a green. Crimson Luvith to Saekagi

Distorted Reflection Egg - Well hello there ladies~ This egg seems to give a feeling that it likes the touch of women and women alone; in fact the more the merrier! Everyone is given a welcoming feeling though when touching this egg, as if they were being carefully guided into something. Likely a green or a blue. Blue Daroth to Nasuymi

Animal Tracks Egg - This egg seems to give off an air of determination, one that doesn't exactly seem so quiet. It's a drive that pretty much encompasses the rest of the feelings that this egg may offer which is slightly troublesome. While not exactly hostile towards any it is more accepting of younger hands than older, and seems to prefer the touch of men over women. This egg is likely a large blue or a small brown. Blue Suvith to Nithan
