This is a topic to discuss all your favorite brands and products in makeup, skin care, and hair care! heart

So here's a quick rundown of my all time favs. wink

MAKEUP

#5 - Maybelline New York
MNY is my drugstore brand. It's the best you can get at a reasonable price. They're lipstick isn't really all that, but I love pretty much everything else. Especially their Dream line. (I'll do a product review of that line, for you ladies, a little later. ^_^ )
Favorite MNY Products: Dream Mousse Blush, Dream Mousse Concealer, & Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

#4 - MAKE UP FOR EVER
MUFE is an amazing quality brand, with a huge selection! There's no such thing as 'cheap' makeup with this brand. Unfortunately, that also means that it doesn't come cheap. sweatdrop But it's totally worth the price, if you can afford it! You'll look like a million bucks, in any style you choose. And there are a million to choose from!
Favorite MUFE Products: HD Invisible Cover Foundation, HD Microfinish Blush, Aqua Cream, & Eyeshadow

#3 - Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit is a great brand for my makeup essentials. I especially love their collection of highlighters and blushes. Girly, fun, and very good quality. I'd definitely recommend this brand to any woman, young or old.
Favorite Benefit Products: Dandelion, CORALista, Dallas, Georgia, Highbeam, Moonbeam, Highbrow, Bathina, & One Hot Minute

#2 - Amphigory
Amphigory isn't high-end, high priced cosmetics. It's a little known gothic/alt beauty cosmetics line run buy a couple in Indiana. They make all the makeup themselves. It's all natural and totally unique. You can get products from Amph that you would never find anywhere else! It's also great for those of us who are pale and proud. Since it's generally aimed at goths, I was finally able to find powders, foundations, and concealers that actually match my skin tone! Not to mention products that accentuate my porcelain white complexion. They're good quality products that won't leave you broke. And the owners are very charitable people, always donating cosmetics and profits to good causes, so you can feel good about treating yourself! wink (In fact, every time you buy one of their gorgeous lipglosses, part of the profit goes to protecting the large wild cats of India. And I think we can all get behind saving Tigers. heart )
Favorite Amphigory Products: Foundation Toner, Lipstick, Nail Tips, Paper White Loose Powder, & Illusion White Foundation

#1 - Urban Decay
UD is a funky mix of high-end products that can be enjoyed by anyone and unique alt beauty styles. You'd be hard pressed to find a UD product that isn't high quality, but they definitely have some fun and unique shades and original product ideas. It's a fantastic brand for young people with a good sense of individuality and style.
Favorite Urban Decay Products: Alice in Wonderland ~ Book of Shadows, 24/7 Eye Pencil, Flavored Body Powder, Primer Potions, Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder, De-Slick Mattifying Powder, & XXX Shine Lip Gloss

SKINCARE/BATH & BODY

#3 - Fresh
Fresh is a great quality brand, in which every product draws on mothers natures powers of beauty and healing. None of their products are just a bunch of chemicals that you can't pronounce. When you use Fresh products, you know what's going on your face. And fresh's style is exactly what the name implies... fresh. Fresh ideas, fresh scents, and you always walk away feeling fresh. Using Fresh products just leaves you feeling so clean and renewed. And I absolutely love their Sake, Soy, and Brown Sugar collections. I'm also looking forward to exploring their Cannabis Rose collection. ^.^
(I'll do product line reviews for all of those later.)
Favorite Fresh Products: Sugar Lip Treatment, Soy Face Cleanser, Umbrian Clay Treatment Bar, Brown Sugar Body Polish, Lotus Eye Gel, Rose Marigold Tonic Water, & Rice Sake Bath Oil

#2 - Philosophy
Philosophy is a one-stop shop, beauty experience in and of itself. Their selection is HUGE. They have everything a girl could ever need for beautiful skin. And they have selections of similar products, so that every girl can get a product that's just right for her. Not to mention their super cute style, with bits of wisdom written on every product package, and their massive collection of shower gels named after yummy foods and drinks. And every one smells delicious and comes with a recipe for the food/drink right there on the bottle! With a matching collection of equally delectable lip glosses. Not to mention their incredible cult-hit moisturizer, Hope in a Jar. This stuff really is the best!
Favorite Philosophy Products: Turbo Booster C Powder, Hope in a Jar, Edible Scented Bath Gels, Save Me, & When Hope is Not Enough

#1 - Shiseido
Shiseido is basically the end-all, be-all of skincare brands. Tremendous selection, super high quality, innovative products. Like Philosophy, they have pretty much anything you might need. For any age woman with any skin type. Only, in my opinion, their products are even better. (If not a tad pricier. ninja But it's definitely worth the cost.) Shiseido has been around since 1872. (They even still carry their original product, which happens to be a favorite of mine.) And it's easy to see why. Seriously effective stuff. If I could only have one skincare brand for the rest of my life, I wouldn't even have to think twice. It's Shiseido. Not only because of their great products, but also because I know they'll have me covered for the rest of my life. From my combination, sun sensitive, and acne prone, 20-year-old skin, to whatever skin concerns I'll have when I'm 90. They've got it all and it all works! heart
Favorite Shiseido Products: Eudermine Revitalizing Essence, Benefiance Collection, White Lucent Brightening Collection, & Ultimate Sun Protection Collection

HAIRCARE

#4 - TRESemme
TRESemme is my drugstore brand. Nothing to write home about, but it's a step up from the others. And let's face it. We can't always afford to keep up with the top brands. Having some TRES products around, for when your 'designer' brands run out is always a plus. 3nodding
Favorite TRESemme Products: Vitamin E & Aloe Color Revitalize Shampoo and Conditioner, Flawless Curls Extra Hold Mousse, Anti Frizz Secret Smoothing Cream, Thermal Creations Volumizing Mousse, Thermal Creation Heat Taming Spray, 24 Hour Body Root Boost, 24 Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner, 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse

#3 - Oscar Blandi
Not my all time favorite, but it's a good selection of quality products. The shampoos, conditioners, and styling products, I could take or leave. (Though I've heard that they're dry shampoo is amazing, but I just don't use dry shampoos.) But the hair treatments and color maintenance products, I absolutely love.
Favorite Oscar Blandi Products: Trattamento Al Fango, Luce, Capri, & Ancora Colore Set

#2 - Frederic Fekkai
Frederic Fekkai is an amazing brand. Great products, great selection. My only bone to pick is that it's bank-breaking expensive. But the products are brilliant. I especially like the Luscious Curls Line and their color-protecting products. Honestly, they'd be my favorite if they weren't so expensive and had more natural ingredients.
Favorite Fekkai Products: Technician Color Care Mask, Salon Glaze Clear Shine Rinse, Luscious Curls Cream, & Coiff Ironless Straightening Balm

#1 - Ojon
Ojon is the best hair brand EVER! I definitely believe in keeping it natural and using mother natures gifts over chemical products. All their products are made with South American Ojon Oil and they all do wonders! I think every girl (or guy) should try this stuff! 4laugh
Favorite Ojon Products: Restorative Hair Treatment, Shine & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, Shine & Protect Glossing Mist, Hydtrating Volumizing Foam, & Leave-In Glossing Cream

Heyyo!

Just wanted to add a comment here about the wonderful products we all love! A comment on skin products being that I love Shiseido~ It yield from the country I live in now, so it's pretty fantastically easy to find... EVERYWHERE! But yes, it's a fantastic product. There are also some other brands that are really good over here in Japan such as the makes of one called "Scalp D". They have the most intensely brain-washing commercials though.

Also for other products, I recommend professional brands as a licensed Cosmetologist. Biolage, Matrix, and All Nutrient are some of my favorites, All Nutrient probably taking the cake in terms of really safe natural products that are super healthy for you hair. I can't remember the name of the skin care products I used to use at my old salon, but I remember it was really painfully expensive. I will consult my catalog later.

My Best Make-Up Brands:
Foundation: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
Concealer: LA Looks Concealer (From the dolla-sto'!)
Powder: Revlon Translucent Powder Compact (It doubles as an amazing eye shadow base.)
Eyeliner: Wet N' Wild Pencil (Smears well, and is super cheap -- so I don't feel bad when I lose it. You can find it in the dollar store.)
Liquid Eyeliner: LA Looks Liquid Eyeliner (Take a bit longer to dry but as it wears, it transforms into a semi-smokey look. Great for day to night. Dollar store find.)
Eyeshadow: A! Eyeshadow (Only available in the ghetto -- yes, I'm serious. It's intended for dark skin colors, and is super strong because of it.)
Mascara: CoverGirl Lash Blast Waterproof

My Favorite Skin Care Brands:
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion - SPF 15. (Necessary for a nice, smooth base on which to apply foundation.)
Dove Beauty Bar (I have no issues with acne.)
Jergan's Cocoa Butter Lotion

My Favorite Hair Products:
Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Solutions Dry to Moisturized Shampoo
Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Solutions Fragile to Strong Conditioner (This product line has made such a huge difference in my hair.)
CHI Silk Infusion straightening balm (I hardly ever straighten or blow-dry my hair, but it does double duty so it's always nice to have a small bottle of this around.)
Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Smoothing Milk (great on days I don't wash my hair. Makes it smell and look clean.)

As you can tell, you don't have to spend a whole lot of money to have a full beauty repertoire. My best advice is to step away from the department store counter... Go explore makeup options at alternative venues: dollar stores, flea markets, even corner stores. You'd be surprised what you'll find.
Another tidbit, CVS is a great place to try out make-up. Even though they're a bit more expensive than other retailers, they have a 100% no questions asked return policy on make up and hair products.
