Ironforge had found not many other's enjoyed hanging out on rocky mountain ledges and while he wasn't adverse to company - once in a while he liked to have some time alone or at least escape the giggling types that seemed to find his shaggy coat 'cute'. It wasn't cute..it was hot. Things were far cooler in the mountain heights, which was just another excuse for him to indulge Prospector.
Like he really needed any more. The horned rabbit critter had been his friend for quite some time now and the beast had a penchant for shiny things - so when Ironforge got annoyed, hot or cranky they escaped to the heights and the Wopletinger had a blast rummaging about in the caves.
So it was that today found Ironforge partially dozing on a stone ledge while his fury friend scurried about in a cave nearby, once in a while a chunk of rock would be discarded and tossed out onto the ledge, when one of these happened to land a tad to close for comfort Ironforge snorted. "Hey!" He fussed at the Wopletinger, lowering his shaggy head to peer into the cave "Watch what your doing!"

(lalala trying to get into a new character, always kinda shaky 8B <3)
The shaggy Mountain stallion, however, was far from being the only one venturing the rockier mountain sides. Moutains and their caves were rich with treasure, and the most valuable of it of all to the cobalt mare trudging up the rocky sides was adventure.
Sha'tar was far from one to let her lack of wings bring her searches to a limited scale, and she was taking a breather on a ledge below Ironforges. Huffing slightly, she shook her scruffy fur and lifted her head to peer up at the other soquili, and she laughed slightly, "How's the view up there?"
Taking a deep breath, she started panting again, shaking herself a bit, "What... Are the chances finding someone else up on these rocks?"
She observed the rocky path leading up to the area, trying to find the way of least resistance further up as she took her breather, her own wolpertinger riding on her saddle lightly.

You'd think Ironforge would have noticed the arrival of another just a bit below him - but it was hard to concentrate with your companion randomly chucking rocks out at you and his head jerked up as the mares sudden voice reached him producing a sharp crack on the caves low rock roof. Shaking his head slightly and thanking whatever force had given them to him for his horns which had taken the impact he peered sheepishly down at the mare below
"Normally?" He responded to the mare in a gruff tone "Pretty small, not many find anything appealing in scaling the mountain" He told her with a hint of curiosity in his voice, as though he were wondering why she had chosen to do so and almost forgetting to answer her first question all together. "But it's cooler up here and the view....is pretty nice" He stated with a bit of surprise, he'd never really noticed it before now.

(FFF -- Apparently the post I thought I had sent was lost o_< Blurg) "It is nice.." She turned her head so she could see Cahiracammi, her wolpertinger, and tossed her head slightly as she gave a silent command. Hopping up in response, the tinger spread her wings and fluttered over her head onto the path ahead of her, testing the rocks and footing as she looked for the path, "Likely nicer up there where one can actually settle in to enjoy it.."
Shatar watched as Cahira arrived next to Ironforge, looking around to check for anything of interest, chattering slightly -- there was something up there that could prove interesting during a bit of a rest. Sha'tar nodded and quickly lept the little ways to the first rock in the path, trotting quickly up the sheer rock side till she got to a point she could turn around at to the ram stallions far left, and quickly trotted up the towards him, reaching the ledge and looking around, "Definitely more room up here..." One of the pebbles smacked her on the ear and she turned towards the cave, moving to poke her nose inside, "Excuse me, am I unwelcome? If so, you don't need to throw rocks at me to show it."

Watching the mare scale the sheer rock was somewhat of an interesting experience - she seemed pretty damn fearless, none of that prissy nervous rock tapping to make sure her footholds wouldn't start careening down the mountain rather then hold her weight. She just took the wolpertingers word on it and forgot about it - either she was just at home in the mountains as he was or just fearless as his thoughts had considered before.
Either way Ironforge wasn't going to complain, while he never minded helping those that needed it it was nice to once in a while - run across someone who seemed capable of taking care of herself a little bit. He shifted sideways a bit to give the mare more room - because that was just the polite thing to do for a lady and then sighed when one of Prospectors wayward missiles struck her. Frowning he twisted his head to glare in the general direction of the cave. "Prospector!" He scolded the beast who peeked his head out in surprise having been so obsessive about his hunt for shinnies that he hadn't even noticed the new arrival. "Very sorry Miss" Ironforge apologized for his companion who had a sheepish expression on his face now. "Prospector doesn't always pay attention to what's going on about him, bit of an obsessive rodent" He explained.

Laughing, the mare poked her nose against the sheepish wolpertinger affectionately as she chuckled, "Well then, a little enthusiasm is understandable." Smiling, she peered into the shallow cave, noting it dwindled down in size too much for her to go spelunking even with some torches fairly close to the entrance -- It seemed just barely tall enough for a wolpertinger to creep in despite their antlers, but they'd still risk getting them snagged and getting trapped. Better built for smaller creatures on an adventure.
Snorting slightly, she moved over to stand by Ironforge, looking over the land, "Good view from up here indeed -- much easier to see what this land has to offer from up here." there was a long pause, and she turned her attention to the shaggy stallion beside her, "... I'm Sha'tar by the way.."

((Sorry for the slow response, long weekend ate my online time lol ))
Ironforge could have rolled his eyes slightly as Prospector shuffled his feet and cheeped what could only be considered an 'aw shucks' sort of apology, the little creature was quite the attention hog when given the chance to be. Silly beast the stallion thought to himself - though he inwardly had to admit he'd never consider going on without him - Prospector was practically family.
What the land has to offer? Was she looking for something in particular? Or just commenting on the view to make idle conversation? You over think things to much he told himself, she looks far to calm to be running away from someone or looking for someone missing he chided himself - but that was often the way his thoughts went. Hi mother used to tell him he had a 'knight' complex, aways trying to help or save others.
"Ironforge" He introduced himself with a polite bob of his head as the mare introduced herself. "What brings you up to the mountains today Sha'tar?" He just couldn't help himself from asking it seemed - just in case.

"Adventure."
Sha'tar chuckled slightly, looking over the landscape with a near dreamy expression, able to see the rolling planes, the distant ocean. The forests and rivers, floodplains and lakes. Villages and so much yet left unexplored by her, "I'm new to the land here, and Its hard to tell what sort of adventures there are until one has a good grasp of the terrain. Certain sorts of environments attract different types of adventure, and often times one can judge where the most danger is -- and thus where to never go alone -- by how the landscape is crafted." looking to the west, she motioned towards an area of more distant mountains, around a river ravine, "The swatches of brown speckled with grey and fresh growth show's the terrain there is unsteady, and prone to landslides. Likely has lots of unusual treasures and wildlife in order to survive there, but is not a place for beginners... Thankfully, something I am not."
She motioned further down, closer to the ocean down the same river, "There are mangrove forests and floodplains down closer to the mouth of the river, the area is likely partially underwater at times and speckled with damp islands, and in other times of the year would be dry as the rest of the forest. The plantlife there needs to be strong and hearty, and likely can hide predators in all dimensions.. Above, Below, and right beside you."
She mused on it for a little while, looking over the vast land, drifting off to the sea. She'd never see it if she was on land, and even then it was hazy enough to be uncertain. She tried to judge the distances, noting that everything looked a bit tired -- there was likely a high amount of foot traffic, "However, its closer to the villages so likely a little more domesticated then some terrain I've seen like that. Dangers that come there likely dont stay long, so its a bit of a guess whether you'd be safe from predation.. Just as a few examples."
The Talbuk mare chuckled, stretching a bit. "Though..." Simply climbing the mountain because its there and you want to see the world from its peaks is an adventure in itself. You never know what sort of treasure you may discover."

Adventure hmm? Well Ironforge didn't see any problems with wanting to know the land you lived in, on the contrary it was often a wise decision, being familiar with the land gave you options when things went sour. Ah but there he went again taking the Lady's comments and considering them in the manner of a guard. It was a habit he really ought to stop but such things were like breathing to the stallion. Second nature. It irritated him that many of the stallions he'd met since arriving in this land seemed far more interested in helping their own skins then lending a hand to others.
He needed to get out more or he was going to turn into a sour old goat, he wasn't even that old yet and he was already thinking in terms of 'the good ole day' and harping on the loss of morals in todays youth. Jeez...inwardly cringing at those thoughts he pulled his mind back to the mares speech, pricking his ears to listen '...swatches of brown speckled...' well at least she sounded smart. Ironforge had found himself in the company of more then his fair share of gibbering young mares...and nice intelligent one was a good change of pace. Shifting his head to peer at the different area's she pointed out he made small motions and sounds of agreement to her words concluding with the hazy looking sea in the far distance, and while she didn't specify thather comments were on it he could only assume the last bit had been as thats what she was looking at. "I have heard there are great storms on the waters, that you can watch them long before they come upon you...and also that the sunrising on it is ever so pretty" Though he had never actually been there to prove this...it sounded reasonable and the mare whom had told him had seemed truthful enough.
"But that is a good outlook to have, to many nowadays just seem to plod along without really seeing anything" Seeing danger, seeing those who needed help. If only they would learn to look about some - so many terrible things could be avoided. There he went again...thinking old thoughts when he really had no right to be doing so. He supposed he was just an old soul.

"Pfft" Sha'tar huffed slightly, "What shallow, meaningless lives do they live, if they go through the world without seeing..."
The mare drifted off into silence, peering over the sweeping land to their south. To the north there was more rocks, then desert in the rain-shadow of the mountains, but for now what interested her was to their south.

Ironforge couldn't help but agree with the mare - in truth it was a bit of a pet peeve of his, why bother living in the world if you didn't make at least attempts to explore it? Make it better. Granted - hiding up here in the mountains wasn't exactly following either of those mandates but t least he'd been driven here by annoyance rather then simple lack of caring in the first place. Or at least that was his way of excusing it, excuses or not however Ironforge knew it was something he would need to change, even if the majority of society today did annoy him for its lack of morals - he couldn't jut ignore it forever.
"Some are satisfied by such a life I imagine - but it is a sad decay for those of us who notice. I expect I should stop letting such observations keep me from experiences of my own" He mused out loud as the mare drifted off to silence, her gaze seemingly held by the south. "Do you intend to go South?" He asked her suddenly, as though struck suddenly by the chance this could offer. Not that he would force himself on the mare - Ironforge was far to much of a gentlemen to pressure her into agreeing to his company, but it couldn't help but consider the option yes?
