Not long after the Forging of the Earthen Alliance, when only the few greatest nations were members, A coalition was formed in the hopes of extending man's influence into Space. The first of their accomplishments was the Lycia space colony in Inner space. The Facility began as a simple community of twenty Researchers, but over the next fifteen years quickly blossomed into a Massive City in Space, thus began the need for a more self sustained Colony. Lycia was extremely expensive to maintain, and the expenses had the EA colonization efforts in a stall.
Over time, the idea came to mine ores from the Moon itself, and use the profits to maintain and propel research from that point forward. Work began quickly afterward on the Colony of Troy. As time passed, and the Earthen Alliance took favor on their newer project, they cut funding to the Lycia Colony and focused entirely on Troy, sending Colonization teams regularly to populate and work the rocky soil. It would only be two years before the Colony would declare independence from The Earthen Alliance as the Lunar war would begin.
Quite the underdogs throughout the six month long war, Troy proved that their defenses were more than enough to thwart any attack dealt by the EA. Finding that they had no experience fighting in the environment of Space and realizing the cost of a war they were getting nowhere fighting, the EA backed away and granted Troy and Lycia both their independence to avoid further conflict with the agreement that trade would continue between the three organizations.
Over the twenty years that followed, the evolution of Technologies on Troy allowed for comfortable living and easier mining, making it much more than a simple roughneck colony, rather a legitimate nation, whats more, it was not a member of the Earthen Alliance.
Ever Cautious, the Trojan Colony's defenses have been said to be extremely formidable. With the looming shadow of the EA ever watchful, Troy has taken no risks and has prepared for the day that a war would rage between the two once again, with tensions rising and the price of Lunar Ores falling.
