They see me rollin'
They hatin'
Patrollin' an tryna catch me ridin dirty

-As the sun sunk behind the buildings and eventually below the horizon Sailor Yed Prior strut down Main street, his boots making rhythmic thuds against the concrete. The street lights flickered to life, lighting the empty street and further cloaking the alleyways in darkness.

Ever since that... 'mass coma thingy' the streets had been fairly empty. Many a pretty ladies lay in hospital beds like Sleepin' Beauty, and most of the ones who weren't remained cooped up in dorms and homes. Protective daddies and teachers had locked all the little fillies away like princesses in a castle, and the poor menshi's style had been seriously cramped. What used to happen ever couple of days now hadn't occured in a whole week, and so Yed Prior found himself actually on the hunt tonight. Surely some naughty little girl had slipped out into the night, and she was sure to run into some trouble on these dark and dangerous streets. One just needed to take the opportunities presented to them.

He seemed less than concerned about attracting the police and forces patrolling the area lately, let alone the 'big bad' Negaverse. A crisp whistle sounded through the streets as he strutted along, one hand lifting to run through his perfectly groomed hair. Gotta love that little transformy magic, it had impecible taste and style. But then, it DID have a lot to work with in the first place.-

Lieutenant Uranophane had never felt quite so lucky that her weapon happened to be a clipboard. While at first she'd never really used it besides to smack people with, she had eventually caught on to its usage drawing out quick battle plans, writing occasional notes on the opposition, and now -- data entry. The first two or three of its pages was an extensive checklist of youma names, with space in between for shorthanded notes on who they were assigned to and where they'd been stationed.

She'd never expected to have to do secretarial work for the Negaverse, but there you have it. The headquarters had become a great deal more familiar after hours stationed there, browsing through the rows of monsters of every design imaginable and fellow officers they were to be assigned to. Giving names, explaining how to use the things, advising where to go with them.

The last two names on the list had been Nanana, and then Gahmut -- and then the carefully organized information broke away into a small series of tic tac toe games. Her pen tapped on the board a few times, thinking, before marking an angle-perfect X on the latest grid and passing it over to Vivianite.

They were waiting in ambush; finally, after getting some assigning work done Uranophane had been allowed to go out onto the battlefield herself. And what better way to have a patrol but with the tried-and-true method of picking a random street and waiting in the darkness until someone showed up?

It never failed. Even now, they could both hear the faint clacking of footsteps on the asphalt.

Vivianite had never thought she'd miss patrolling. But with Uranophane handing out youma to the other Negaverse officers, the senshi had been stuck with assisting. Someone had suggested that she go out on patrol with another team, another Lieutenant; it hadn't ended well.

So when Uranophane had come to collect her to go out on patrol, Vivianite had been eager to do so. To get out of the halls of the Negaverse, to do something other than worry. She'd not seen Spinel since the meeting, and even that had only been a glance to confirm he was there (they'd all been there, four senshi apart from the mass of officers). But she'd been unable to go out on her own since she'd been injured, though she'd long since healed.

She was leaning against a wall while Uranophane made her move in their latest game of tic tac toe; the plum haired girl was winning, of course. Vivianite didn't win often, but it was more impressive when she did so. Being able to trip up her friend in any sort of game was always an accomplisment. She'd just made her slightly oval O on the grid when she heard the footsteps approaching.

"I think you'll be needing this?" Vivianite said, handing it back and pushing herself off the wall. "Let's go see who's out wandering around." And she wasn't able to spring her attack just yet; Uranophane had made that abundantly clear as well. They had to get a feel for everyone now, which made ambushes trickier to pull off.

-The whistling died down as he reached the end of a verse, pausing a moment in an attempt to listen. He searched the mostly silent street for the growls and roars of monsters, the screams of people in trouble, even the clatter of movement. Nothing... far in the distance the wail of a siren could be heard echoing through the night sky.

If they'd had any question as to whether or not he was a senshi, as opposed to perhaps some strange reject from the Village People or a gay bar, he held his hands out and something sparkled before appearing from nowhere. He tapped away at the buttons, grinning as he shipped off some lewd message to a fellow 'teammate' before he finally got down to business, holding the cellphone above his head.-

"Son'ova b***h" -He huffed as the screen remained blank as well. No bip of light clueing him into a friend nearby. It was like the damn thing was broken. He dropped it out of frusteration, but it dissapating back into the subspace of nothingness before it hit the ground and he was walking again, hands behind his head..

Cowboy boots and chaps in motion again, he continued on obliviously past his pair of watchers, calling out after a moment.- "Ollie ollie oxen free"

Upon the clipboard being passed back into her hands, Uranophane marked one final X in it before tucking it at her side to give full attention to the senshi who had shown up -- not that there was any point to that, the game ended up being a tie, it was just for the sake of completion. She gave a nod to Vivianite and they crept further towards where the alleyway emptied into the street, sticking close to the shadows and peering out at the figure rendered visible by the flooding streetlamps.

As they watched, he paused his strolling for a moment, held out his hands -- an object sparkle-popped into them, like a flashier answer to a Negaverser's summoning of their weapon. He hadn't noticed them yet, though, and he hadn't done the normal theatric shouting that came with invoking senshi magic, so there was no telling what it was besides not his attack. Uranophane had no idea sailor senshi could summon anything like that, but whatever it was it was being frustratingly concealed by his hands. She ground her teeth audibly.

The senshi seemed to be having some sort of trouble with it, he was holding it over his head: what they could make out of it had a familiar smooth and slightly tapered rectangular shape. She furrowed her brow when it was desummoned in a similar show of glitter. They hadn't seen quite enough to tell what it was, and now she was in that frustrating state where she knew she should know what it was, but the pieces just weren't clicking together properly.

"Did you see that?" she lowly passed to Vivianite, regarding her for a moment to see if she would have any clues. But before they could talk about it further, his shadow slipped past them as he continued down the street and passed by the mouth of their alley.

It seemed like they'd gone unnoticed. But then: Ollie ollie oxen free!

Damn.

"No point in hiding if he knows we're here," Uranophane decided, drawing up to her full height and gesturing for Vivianite to do the same. "But stay on guard."

Following after Uranophane was practically a habit for Vivianite; she fell into place behind and slightly to the left of the Lieutenant, something made slightly more difficult by the fact they were sneaking around in an alleyway. The senshi managed, however. She usually found a way to wind up standing there, like some sort of bodyguard.

Crouched in the shadows, she watched as the strangely dressed senshi summoned something in a much more noticeable manner than she'd ever seen a Negaverse agent summon their weapons. Her purple eyes narrowed as she stared at the object, wondering what he had in hand. It was small, whatever it was; Vivianite couldn't get a clear look at it, half-hidden behind Uranophane as she was. She shifted slightly, in time to see him hold it above his head.

"Ye-es," she replied, drawing the word out thoughtfully. "It lookd kind of like a -" Whatever she'd been about to say was interrupted by the senshi's cry. After straightening up and brushing herself off reflexively, Vivianite looked thoughtfully at her partner.

"What if he's expecting another senshi?" A black gloved hand waved towards the boy, then gestured at herself. "He might be willing to talk to me." More likely now than previously; Queen Beryl had taught the corrupted senshi how to tone down the incredibly dark and powerful energy signature. Vivianite hadn't had a lot of cause to use her new found ability recently, but she'd taken the trouble to do so before going out on patrol. Why make it easier for the senshi to find her?

-Sailor Yed Prior was fairly new to the game, and even more unexperienced then he was new. His very few trips into battle had tended to be along the side of another senshi. More often then not it wasn't even a youma he faced, usually it was more like a purse snatcher. He even saved a kitty from a tree once, dashing white knight that he was.

He'd seen a Negaverse agent once, had heard a whisper or two about others. But he'd never even heard of corrupted senshi. Probably should have spent more time listening at the last mass meeting, instead of swapping phone numbers and 'oh so sexy' gazes and facial expressions with a few of the gals that had far outnumbered the men at the meeting.

It had been sheer luck that his frusterated cry to the sky had actually occurred close enough to other human ears. Complete and utter coincidence and luck that he paused so near the others. Maybe it was even something subconcious, something he hadn't been experienced enough to recognize or realize, but he paused a moment as if hoping for a cry to call back over the night sky. It may have appeared as if he was waiting for them, but it was not the case, his hand rustling the back of his hair thoughtfully as he debated where he wanted to head next. Main street maybe? He risked cops then but... perhaps he'd have more luck.-

Looked kind of like a what, the lieutenant's expression had appeared to ask, her always-intense gaze trying to draw out the part of Vivianite's sentence that had been dropped and unspoken. If her charge had any idea of what it was that senshi had summoned, Uranophane wanted to know. It could be important.

"That's possible," she answered -- Yed Prior's back might have been starting to itch, given the scrutiny of the eyes on him -- "or he just has no idea what he's doing like half the people on his side." Hmph.

He was alone, though, and seemed off-guard, he was standing in a slack pose and running his hand through his hair, of all things. After a moment of thought, Uranophane decided, "He might. Just keep him on the edge of your attack radius and don't let your guard down.

"If we can't get anything else out of this one, we will get his star seed."

Vivianite returned Uranophane's stare with one she'd perfected; it was calm and blank and had a tendency to infuriate her friend in these kinds of situations. Eventually, they stopped, looking away at exactly the same time as the problem of the senshi reasserted itself. Besides, she'd be certain to mention it later.

"They are rather disorganized," the senshi mused, narrowing her eyes slightly as she continued to stare at Yed Prior. "But certainly that's to our advantage." The Negaverse had a leader, a highly competent leader, and for once Vivianite was grateful that she'd been recruited to that particular side of this battle. To be facing Beryl and her officers was not something she enjoyed contemplating. Not all of them were as brilliant as the Queen of the Negaverse (who could be?), but there were other agents, dangerous enough in their own right.

A brief shiver skated down Vivianite's spine at the thought of Tanzanite, which was preferable to thinking about having to fight against Uranophane. Not that Uranophane and Tanzanite were comprable, but one of them was her friend, and the other was not. "Alright," she replied simply, knowing that whatever happened, she'd be able to count on backup if things went badly.

"Were you looking for another senshi?" she called out brightly, stepping more into the light and obscuring where she and Uranophane had been observing. "Patrolling alone is dangerous," Vivianite said solemnly, trying to make herself look worried for the safety of this senshi in front of her.

-And there it was, a feminine voice broke through the otherwise quiet air. He could have hooted and hollered his delight, but Yed Prior was a cool cat, and instead he swung around to face her a smirk plastered to his face.

She'd said senshi, but it still didn't quite hit him until he had a moment to look her over. There was something a little different then the usual fuku.. something a little strange... but it wasn't the sort of detail he picked up on. Oh no. His checklist was quite small. Did it have a v****a. Check. Good to go.-

"Well hello there darlin'" -He nearly cooed the words as he took her in head to toe, staring at her the way one stared at an art piece they might be critiquing. Glamour or not she wasn't unpleasant to look at. And she was a sweet little thing too. To be worried about him and all that. Too cute.

He took a couple strolling steps forward rubbing his left fingers against the muscles he flexed in his left arm.- "Was looking for some baddies to bruise up actually" -Senshi girls liked that right? The serious ones atleast. Sometimes the squealy ones too.-

"But I wouldn't turn down a little help from a sweet little filly like you." -He winked, grin growing wider. If he was lucky they might not even run into any 'monsters' tonight and then they could worry about more important things. Like romantic rooftop make out fests. Chicks ate that romantic s**t up.-

That posture. That look. That tone.

That wink.

Anyone who'd known Janice Fitzpatrick or Lieutenant Uranophane for long enough would be able to tell you that things she hated miraculously granted her some kind of bizarre rage-filtered telescopic vision: she could snobblishly nitpick at things with all the ferocity of a culturally sophisticated velociraptor. And right now, the mystery senshi she and Vivianite were probing was beginning to sail very high on her hate list. It was a stroke of luck that he wasn't picking up on their power signatures, and moreso that his instincts weren't alerting him to the rising levels of murderous rage projected in his direction... alas, it seemed this one was a meathead. An extremely dense, insufferable meathead.

As much as Uranophane wanted to chew him out right then and there, she took the insurmountable effort it required for her to remain silent, and waited to see how Vivianite would handle herself before stepping in.

He was flexing. And looking at Vivianite like she was a pinup.

Uranophane really, really wanted to kill him.

Vivianite's cheerfully worried facade never flickered while the other senshi made his rather crude advances, though in truth she was worried.

Worried about how long it would take until Uranophane's control snapped, mostly. Everything Yed Prior did was essentially another nail in his coffin, one that Vivianite's friend and superior would probably be putting him in. "Oh!" she said nervously, looking around. "Do you really think the Negaverse is here?" she asked, trying to look innocent and scared all at the same time. It was a painfully stupid question for her to be asking, but he wasn't quite in range yet.

Although if he got any closer, he might touch her, and that really didn't bear thinking about for several reasons. "I'm glad I found you, then!" she continued, beaming a very earnest smile in his direction while moving one hand out in preparation to launch her attack.

Even if it wasn't really an attack...

"Oh yeahhh.. you never knew when those guys will show up." -He nodded sagely. It was bullshit really.. as he'd only seen one in like... thirty or more various eventful and uneventful patrols. But she didn't have to know that. A scared girl was a clingy girl. He stepped even closer still, within range of grasping her hand if he'd tried.- "If you're scared I'd be happy ta put my arm around ya." -His arm lifted and began to move as if he meant to do just that.-

"Or a rope" -He teased, giving her another playful wink as he eluded to his powers.-

It was really hard to describe how it made Uranophane feel to see Vivianite subjecting herself to the act she was putting on for their meatheaded target. There was definitely a sickened component to it, as if she were drinking down some sort of cocktail made of bad meatloaf and cough syrup, but that was topped off by a very thick and rich layer of embarrassment for her partner. If Yed Prior looked back, he might have seen the lieutenant grimacing in sympathy for the poor girl... as it were, all eyes were probably on Vivianite's exposed skin.

The thought of which did wonders for Uranophane's motivation.

The senshi's response sealed the deal. First the bondage joke, then the getting-close-enough-to-touch-Vivi, and Yed Prior would hear a noise that was like the snarl of a very peculiar animal, followed by a distinctive clang.

Uranophane rushing at him constituted the snarling. The clang was her kicking him in the face.

Oh god, this was worse than she thought it would be. Vivianite had been about to spring her attack when Uranophane snapped - unsurprising - and the senshi let out a sigh. "You couldn't have waited?" she asked, a hint of impatience creeping into her voice as the other Negaverse agent rushed past her.

Facing Yed Prior again, the corrupted senshi drew herself up and flicked away her bangs from her forehead, clearly revealing the black star shaped marking...which was rather similar to the one he'd failed to notice on her chest. "I think you've found the Negaverse," she commented dryly, staying out of her partner's way for the moment.
