"This has to be it....I can't think of anything more perfect!" Kay grinned like a mad woman, one paw on her book and the other holding some spices which she discovered had been misplaced from her rack some time back. This was it....goodbye noodle shop, and hello the rest of her life! Oh how she was excited to go home and see her family, and friends....a part of her knew she was going to miss it here. "I'm sorry, Snake....I know I will not find my place as you have yours here..." Yet who said she couldn't visit him! She would come back; as much as she wasn't exstatic to encounter Shadow again (which at least they established she wasn't an Autobot) she would enjoy seeing Bryyo once again, Banes too; such nice individuals.

"....I should have met more girls..." She chuckled, realizing all of her friends were guys.

Holding her breath she dropped the contents into the noodle bowl filled with steaming noodles spiced to perfection as the kitchen exploded in a cloud of magenta smoke. It wasn't for a few more moments that she burst out the side foor from the kitchen coughing and trying to gasp for air, stumbling onto the lawn. "Holy crap....." She didn't remember that much smoke last time....but it worked right?

Taking a breath, her eyes fell down to....her paws. Quickly raising them she could feel the big fox ears, her snout, and of course the twitching of her tail. ".....No....No I had it!!!!" She cried out, gritting her teeth as she stood with the book she had grabbed before she ran out. "Its never going to work, ever! Damnit!" Kay yelled bitterly, using all her might to toss the book into one of the backyard fountians; slumping down to sit on the grass and held her face in her paws. She wasn't going anywhere, and there was just no point in trying to keep her hopes up in order to fool herself any longer. "Banes was right..."

For once in a long time since he had arrive, Banes had a day off. Something he didn't take lightly, and usually cherished every moment. On this fine day he decided to lounge out near the fountains in the back yard on the grass. As much as he was against sunbathing, he thought it would be a good idea to just lay in the grass while the cool water from the fountain occasionally splashed against his bare chest. Using his shirt as a pillow, he was in a happy and peaceful state of mind, until something extremely heavy fell on his stomach.

"OOOOOFFF" he grunted as the book winded him momentarily. He rolled over onto his knees and caught is breath as he looked up from where he had to guess where the book came from. "HEY!! Watch where you throw s**t!!" he yelled with a hint of anger in his voice. He couldn't see who he was yelling at, but judging from the sounds that came from the back door, it was a very angry woman. He quickly withdrew his frown and replaced it with a "Oh s**t, what have I just pissed off" look.

Perking her ears at the sound of the rather irritable voice coming from the fountians, her head rose from her paws with the sinking realization that she indeed didn't hear any splash of the book hitting water. "Oh...crap." She sighed heavily, now who decided to linger where she wanted to drown the book? Knowing she better go over and apologize least she end up with some kind lawsuit and then really have problems when she would be fired....

Getting up from the grass she hesitantly headed towards the fountians where oddly enough sat Banes with the most concerning tense look she'd seen on a man to date; looking behind her just incase whatever made it was close. "....Was that you I hit..?" She asked, but answered her own question as he noticed the book on the ground beside him; an embarassed look crossing her face. "I....I am so, so sorry...I was, ah...aiming for the fountian...."

Perplexed at by who he saw come down the way, he thought he had gone mad."Kay? You threw that book?" he asked in shock as he looked from the book to her, then to the book, and back. He wasn't aware she had it in her to throw it that far with such force, but he kept his mouth shut knowing it would cause him more trouble to say anything along those lines

He raised a paw and gave her the concerned police look he was so good at. "Why did you throw the book?" he inquired. Did she not like the ending of it? or was there some sort of character that pissed her off to no end. He looked at it and wasn't even sure if it was a story book at all. "What's going on" he asked as he finally realized that's not a book a normal person would carry for a light read

".....Yes....Please don't toss me or whatever you did last time, my back still bloody hurts..." The vixen's ears slid against her hair, her tail fidgeting till she noticed his perplexed look. "I didn't really think anyone was honestly here....and I threw it because I don't need it anymore." She spoke with an odd tone of voice, walking over and leaning to take the book from the ground. "Its my journal...my life has been in here. Appointments, contacts, hundres of notes and things im supposed to remember. I've had it for a few years now."

Walking over to the fountian, she looked down at the water's surface; not meaning to be so vauge with the officer. "I threw it because I was mad, and more importantly..." She trailed off, before she dropped it into the fountian to observe the pages swell and sink to the bottom. "because i've given up. I've tried everything, and....its pointless to carry around such a heavy reminder of what i'll never have again."

Taking a deep breath and letting it out as it was a hard thing to do for something she nearly had everywhere; the vixen turned and sat down on the edge, eyes focused on the grass for a moment. "Just....don't go into the kitchen...its a bit, er...smokey in there."

He watched her actions without a word as she dropped her journal into the fountain. He watched it sink and then watched her as she walked over to a grassy knoll and sat, obviously glum about this turn of events. His icy eyes returned to where the journal had sank and he walked over. "I know things are tough for you..." he paused as he knelt down and reached his arm into the frigid cold water and grabbing the journal. "...but despite the constant negativity of things gone wrong, you have to shrug them off and press onward. He stood and walked back over to her, plopping next to her forgetting that he's shirtless for a moment.

"Just because you think you can't have your old life back doesn't mean you can try to start a new one" he placed the journal in front of her feet and sat with his knees up and his arms resting on them. "And when you think you've forgotten everything, you can look back and remember the Fun you had" he decided to let his motivational speech end there as all he could do now was just hope she'd consider his words. Not as a police officer, but more so as a concerned by stander

Lifting her gaze in a sense of surprise, she observed as he fetched her journal from the fountain; something he didn't need to do. Not caring how stupid she probably looked as she followed his form till he sat beside her, expression blank as she listened....and listened well. It wasn't like she died, which would have been a bigger catastrophy then being turned into a fox for sure. It was just hard, it really was for an ordinary vixen like her to be faced with such drastic change and events.

Tearing her gaze away from Banes, she looked down at the burn scar on her paw; a reminder of just how different it had been here. "I'm trying, Banes....it might not seem like it.." True, her obsession with the page after page of formulas was quite obvious....but she had gone out there and lived. "I'm just...scared. Heh, the biggest change I had was coming here in the first place; its just all so....sudden."

Leanding forward as her legs crossed, she picked up the soaked journal tenderly; flipping the pages and looking at the smeared ink making most of what had been written inelligible. Oddly, it didn't bother her as much as she thought; the important things she knew she wouldn't forget. Gently sighing, she closed the book back up on her lap and offered a small smile; "I suppose...you are right, Banes. There is only up once you're sure there's nothing left, right?" She glanced over to him, at least glad she didn't go overboard and do something really stupid like throw her ipod in.

He shrugged. "Change is always drastic. It always comes at a surprise and often it's something no one is accepting of, but there's somethings you just can't fight. Being turned into a fox is one of them" he commented wisely. For some odd reason he felt like one of those movie characters that supported the protagonist and picked him up after the devastating plot twist. Then he thought that he was a nerd for thinking that, but soon shook it off

"When you hit rock bottom, only way to go is up. Yup...It's pretty true" he nodded feeling as if he said anything more he'd look like an idiot. He looked over and patted he shoulder gently before standing up "You'll be fine. You've got more guts than some of these other foxes" he mentioned quickly, as though his motivational speech wasn't enough.

"I would be curious of how one wouldn't be able to accept it....well, at least in the sense of not trying to remedy it." Tilting her head to shoot him a sideways glance as he patted her shoulder and stood; staying seated for a few more moments before standing herself. Kay felt herself thankful that it was him that she'd ended up hitting accidentally with her book, if it had been someone really angry her day would have been completely ruined.

"Thanks...Banes. Not so sure about the guts part but i'll trust your word; im sure you'd know better than most." It took guts to be an officer in the first place....but even more when faced with the kinds of things that lived here. Flipping open the book, she pulled out the bookmark from between the pages and slid it onto her pocket as a reminder. Holding up her paw to indicate one moment, she jogged up the hill and put the book into the trashcan; before making her way back to the off duty officer. "...Maybe i'll get a new journal." She offered, stretching her arms behind her head and finally took notice of his lack of shirt.

"So....day off, I presume?" She motioned to his chest with a playful smile.

He nodded. "That's the spirit" he remarked, but soon saw she took off up the hill ,journal in hand. Shortly after she returned and seemed relaxed, but the journal was missing. He didn't argue too much about her throwing it away. It wasn't like he gave it to her and it had sentimental value.

Then she questioned something he wish hadn't come up. "Well....Unlike the human world...I'm not needed here" he said with a blank expression. He did enjoy the sudden amount of days off with the occasional working day that was usually nothing more than a walk around to see if things were in order, but for the most part it was bothersome that he wasn't needed for much more than that.

He shrugged. It wasn't the end of the world for him, it was just a concern that he too would be stuck here forever with no real outlet that he could enjoy. "Oh well...at least I still have a job...even if it's not paid...and..not really a job"

"Pffft." The vixen waved a paw in a dismissive manner. "You might not be needed like the human world needs police....but you're still doing a job. Hell, you saved my a**..." She smiled sincerely, motioning to the path that they had went down a while back. "It may not be much but im sure you're still needed; official or not. So long you enjoy it!"

Well, considering that he wasn't really working and she did have the day off from her duties she was curious what he was up to. "So what was your plans for the day, before I ended it with my book."

She knew she probably should go back and check on the state of the kitchen she left in a smokey mess, but with the back door open she wasn't too concerned since sooner or later it would be ventilated out. She just hoped no one else was coming in to work, or she wasn't sure just how she would explain herself then. Man, now im going to have to ask if I can have a permanent job....I wonder how that will go. She thought absently in the silence as she waited for him to indulge her.

"True" he admitted as he sat back down next to his dark green shirt that was wadded up. He was often finding himself guilty of being a man of few words. He didn't mean to, but it was hard sometimes to try and give a good opinion, but it was getting him by, so he wasn't too worried about it...yet

"What I'm doing?" he looked up at her with raised eyebrows. Then back at the small patch of grass he had been formally laying in. "Uh...this is...pretty much it" he grinned sheepishly scratching his head in disarray. He hadn't ever made any plans..they just...show up

"I see....I don't suppose you'd like to do something then huh?" Placing a paw on her hip she tilted her head and watched him, although laying in the sun did sound lovely she neither had the drive nor ability to suntan anymore...or the attention span for it. "I was thinking....well, the plan was to start packing since I thought i'd be human; but I still don't want to waste a day. It was either go swimming or watch some chick flicks."

Grinning with a gentle chuckle she ran a paw through her hair and readjusted her headphones around her neck. "Since I doubt you'd be up for the latter; i'd welcome the company to the lake?" She knew of a few who would rather walk on coals than swim, yet even often a lakeside lounging spot was more peaceful than out here behind a busy shop.

It took him no time at all to answer to that question. Being very fond of water, and already being in swim trunks, he hopped up eagerly at the sound of swimming in the lake. "Swimming sounds fun!" he grinned.

He reached down and grabbed his shirt, putting the emerald and gold marking colored t-shirt on and waiting for her lead. "You'll need a bathing suit right? Unless you plan to swim in that or.......dare I say it?" he winked and prepared to jump away and run like hell if necessary

Immediately smiling she clapped her paws together before exclaiming, "Excellent!" She knew of a nice place not too far off, having noticed its location one night when she'd gone to an outdoor rave. She figured she would need to grab her bag, which would have everything she needed but she had kept more clothes than usual here at the shop since her final push to change her back had her staying long hours.

"Well yes....ah...." She blinked, before blushing furiously and wished she had a shoe to throw. Instead she leaned over to try and swat at him only to have him preparedly jump to the side. "I don't know, should I have one since obviously having a thick pelt doesn't count still....better yet, might as well....Maybe its a pervy fox thing.." She mused and winked, before making her way back towards the shop "Drinks would probably be a good idea, im sure it wouldn't be wise to drink the lake water."
