Unlike regular citizens or members of the military, those Summoners who fall in the line of battle are not laid to rest alongside one another into the dirt. They are sealed forever in the catacombs beneath the Hidden Shrines, their bodies locking away all the secrets of the Yatagarasu that they carry with them, and their names and existence forgotten to all but the select few who knew them directly. If to live as a summoner is to fight alone, then it is also their fate to die this way.
May their spirits find their way to the halls of their ancestors, that they may spend eternity in the company of those who came before...
