Hmph. Skan knew that the time was coming for another festival. He knew that he was going to have to host it to, being wanidatsi and all. Though his father was never officially, he had been a leader, and one that Skan knew he could never live up to.
There were other ways that he didn't want to follow exactly like his father, and part of that tied in with the festival. He was grumpy, still not sure what to do, and decided to wander aimlessly. Though he was still within the Bird Clan, he did have more freedon to wander wherever, being the "leader" or the Ela'wadiyi and all. Wrapped up in his thoughts, he wasn't really paying any attention to anything around him.

Terema on the other hand was happy as a clam. She had never stopped being carefree. Her playful side had never escaped her and she clung to it every day. Her cubs were growing up and they no longer tustled in the dirt as they used to but she still liked to pull them aside and prod them in to a game, which, after a bit of grumbling, they usually agreed to and then enjoyed once the games began. It was then that her perfect blue eyes fell on her brother.
"Skan!" She calls making a beeline for him, her tail held like a flag in the air, oh he was in one of those moods. She could tell by the look on his face, that he was letting the weight of the world drag him down again. He really needed to take a chill.
Headbutting her brother without a moments hesitation, to stop him in his grumpy tracks, she sits, virtually between his front paws, her face very close to his. "You know you're starting to get wrinkly Skan." She laughs happily licking the tip of his nose.

!!
He felt himself run into something soft, and before he could figure out what it was, his nose was wet. Gross! His nose wrinkles as his eyes focused, realizing it was his sister. Um, well, that was great and all, but did she really have to do all of that at once?
Shaking his mane a bit, he took two steps back and planted his rump on the ground, still not looking too thrilled. What if he had been thinking about something important? He sighed, letting that irritation drift away. He hadn't been, so why make it seem like he had? He wasn't the most bouncy of lions, but he was not one to lie, either.
"Hello, dear sister who loves kissing too much," he said, a small grin growing on his face. "Hopefully I won't get as wrinkly as Dad had been!"

The silvery lioness chuckles "well you're getting there and you're much younger than dad was, you know it takes a lot less muscles to smile than it does to look overly grumpy." She smiles softly, she knew her brother had a lot on his mind but she wasn't about to let that keep her away from being his cheer up parade and reminding him of some things.
"You know you can talk to me right? All of this wrinkly butt face stuff is doing your complexion no good, your tattoos might fall off or anything!" She exclaims looking perfectly serious though there was a look of playful love in those perfect blue eyes, she wished she could help Skan, help him and maybe just chase away his worries for a while.
IDEA!
"Don't make me come over there and lick you all over like when we were kids." She grins a very wide grin, oh he may have had a fluffy mane and he may have been a boy, but she was still a lioness and knew her way around a hunt. She wriggles her butt in the dirt casting up a small flurry of sand around her rear end, a small mischievous grin on her maw.

"I doubt my tattoos would fall off," he chuckled. "I don't think they're going much of anywhere, silly." His tail twitched behind him, some of his worries melting away. They wouldn't stay gone forever, but they could be gone for a little while.
"No licking, either!" He didn't want that at all! He was grown up and an adult now, no time for all that silly romping around like a cub.
"There's just a lot to do and I'm not sure that I'm doing it all right," he grumped. The issue of a lack of nvwati didn't help, either. Sigh. At least Father was around to help, they just needed some trainees. And then there was the issue of rogues. He just...he needed a break, and he was...kind of getting it right now.

The silvery lioness sighs softly looking at her brother. "You know you're doing just fine? You get stressed too easily brother." She smiles a sweetly loving smile, he really was a worry wort.
"Awes, but you look like you need a sloppy kiss and a roll in the dirt. You remember being a kid Skan? It's okay to be a fool sometimes, you know, just unwind and play." She laughs at her grumpy faced brother, leaning forwards to touch his nose with her own. "You should come and spend some time with cubs, they'd soon loosen you up, or make you bald.." she muses and giggles happily.
"The good thing about other peoples cubs you get to give them back when you're done playing with them." She snickers quietly. "But seriously though, you should come and play with them, see what you're missing, see what you're protecting, what you're helping. It'll probably make your job a lot easier and you know if you need help, I can help. I have two paws and a brain inside my scatty little head." she chuckles, she was perfectly happy to help her brother, even if it was just to give him a good lick and a roll in the dirt to help him relax.

"Yeah, I remember being a cub. Tawa and I found a crocodile, and we had no idea what to do with it when we caught it." It had been little, but still. That had been dumb. Especially thinking about it now, when he was older, and realized how dangerous they could be.
"Ugh, well, maybe I'll come visit, but I'm sure not ready for 'em myself," he said with a grunt. No, he needed to get things a little more fixed before he delved into that. Especially the Sky Festival again....! At least Dad was still around to wrestle him into helping, cause Skan had no idea how to run something that big.
His tail flopped on the ground behind him. "I'm just making sure we're safe, Terema. Sometimes I worry..."

The silvery lioness sighs heavily putting a paw on her brothers shoulder she gives him a caring hug. "About what? You know the pride is booming, and the festival is soon, that'll be fun right?" She smiles, though she realised mid sentence that maybe he was worried about the festival.
"Is that why you're worried? Or is it something else?" She crumples her brow looking at her brother, she wondered if he just worried in general or if he worried about something specific.
"I think you need a day to just not think. Come on, lets go on an old fashioned adventure hmm? You need to unwind before your mane turns grey." She giggles flicking his fluffy mane playfully.

"Wha-wait!" This wasn't going right at all. Sure, he was worried, but he had reasons to be! The festival needed prepping, he still had to deal with outsiders now and then, and all of those outsider-members having kids, and needing names...ugh. Skan sighed, shaking his head. "Fine, fine, I'll follow you around today." It felt weird saying that, reminding him of when they were young. And adventures were all they did! Growing up meant responsibilities, and a lot of that just...wasn't fun at all.
"Is there somewhere you want to go?" he wondered out loud, since Terema probably had a lot of things up her paw. She always did, didn't she? "As long as it's not going to take too long..."

Terema rolls her eyes dramatically. "Oh big brother, if you get any more wrinkly you'll start looking like father." She giggles and plods off in front of him flicking him in the nose with her tail. "Come follow me I have just the thing to make you unwind." She grins a mischievous grin. She hoped he would at least calm down a little. Sh knew he had a lot on his plate but she knew he would burn out if he didn't calm down at least a little bit.
Making a beeline through the long grass she heads towards the watering hole with her tail high in the air using it as a flag to lead her brother towards the water.

Hmmm. He didn't quite trust her, but then, she was his sister. He should trust her, but he also knew that she had a little mischevious streak in her. He paused before following her, thinking of his options. With a sigh, he let his paws carry him after her, knowing that he probably wouldn't hear the end of it if he didn't follow her. She did have a little army of kids to swarm him, and he didn't want to risk that!
"Fine, fine," he grumbled as he walked behind her.

The silver lioness grinned a wide grin as she padded ahead of her older brother. She felt he needed a good old fashioned lesson in the form of fun and what was more fun than water? Well there was nothing, in her opinion.
As thy entered the long grass she quickly slipped away circling around quickly behind her brother she pounces him...STRAIGHT in to the water. The blue tattooed lioness giggles and leaps away, "Come on grumpy gutts you can't catch me!" She grins and leaps off in to the water splashing great watery waves behind her.

Skan had no idea what his sister was planning. He was grumbling to himself, and didn't realize that she had snuck behind him. He had a split second moment of realization...and then he landed with a splash! into the water below.
Coughing out the water that rushed in his mouth, he growled. "Terema!" he snarled, knowing that he was going to have to get her back for this trick! Hmph!
