It was getting pretty late in the day. Switch had been at the shop all day as per the norm, and as usual, Tek was with her as well. Poor Kale needed a break from the growly little wolf-monster, and usually Switch didn't mind taking him for the day...because usually Kay, her eldest son, was usually with her, and usually insisted on playing with the little brat. But eventually work was over and Switch was on her way home, the young boy sitting on her hip as he couldn't yet walk on his own.
It was cooler today than it had been lately, and while she was passing the park, she stopped. Well...it wouldn't hurt, would it? Besides, it'd been a while where it had just been Tek and herself playing, without anyone else. So...why not?
"How about we go on the slide, hmm?" She asked of the silent one on her hip, receiving an ear twitch in response...but no outright cries to get her to stop. Well, that was a good thing! Humming happily, she wandered to the slide, standing at the base of it and setting Tek as far up as she could, letting him slide back down.
Tek had to admit...despite this being a childish endeavor, it was fun!

Umbra could be seen a short distance away from the playground; making odd sounds as she stared up at a squirrel (and, mysteriously, she had a small dragon-like creature hugging her leg). "Oh, come on!" the catgirl cried in anger, throwing her hands up before beginning to make the chittery sounds again.
Such was the fate of people who could talk with animals.

Switch glanced over her shoulder when she heard someone cry out in frustration, looking around before spotting the long haired one...chittering? Raising her brow, she glanced down at her Baby, then back up at the girl. Should she go over and talk to the crazy little one? Then again, the crazy could be a cry for help...maybe the girl was lost and delusional.
"Um...excuse me, is everything alright?" The blue haired woman inquired, holding Tek tightly to her chest and observing the girl with a curious stare.

Umbra blinked for a second. "Yeah," she nodded, "just telling the squirrel that the world isn't ending because the leaves are being trampled." The squirrel in question made a angry squeak and scurried back into a hole. "Well, no nuts to you ever again either!"
She brushed her hair behind her ears. "Sorry about that, I can talk to animals," Umbra sighed, "and I've been telling those that just because people are destroying the leaves, the acorns are still gonna be growing."
A moment of awkward silence ensued.
"I'm sorta from outer space," she continued, "it's how I justify it."

"Huh. You'd think they'd know that." Switch said, a little amused at the conversation the girl was apparently having with the squirrel. "Because, you know, it's not like people have only now started to pick leaves from the tree. There is even an entire season dedicated to the leaves falling and being trampled." Which, suffice to say, meant that Switch in no way whatsoever believed this girl. It seemed to odd and stupid, even for a squirrel.
"Outer space, huh? I've been meeting a lot of people from space lately." She commented absently, shifting the infant in her arms so the girl could see him, and he her. "Including my little Brat. Say Hello, Tek!" She coo'd out affectionately, hugging him against his chest so she could make him wave at her.
All Tek did was bare his tiny fangs in an unamused and uninterested growl.

"You'd think that, but they only do this towards the beginning of fall," Umbra rolled her eyes. "Why I tend not to come to the park, pretty much; imagine hearing a dozen hyper childs talking as fast as they can in your ears all the time!"
The Ato-for that's what it was-squeaked indignantly from her place on the catgirl's leg. "Okay, Rave, you can sit on my head now," she sighed, lifting the neon-colored bunny dragon up onto her head. The thing promptly climbed onto a tree branch.
"Hi, Tek~" the tween grinned. "He's cute, you know that, lady?"
