((OOC note: This battle takes place right after people go into coma's and the city is quarantined, but before either the senshi meeting or the negaverse meeting.))
Heels clicked angrily across the pavement of the park. Eventually she would learn to stop coming to a park frequented by negaversers, but tonight Sailor Perseus had not yet learned her lesson. The same brown heels clicked their way in the same path back to the starting point, and turned again to follow the same path. Over, and over, and over again. She was frustrated.
People were in coma's, crowding the hospitals with their lifeless sleeping forms. There was no way it was what the news said it was, this particular instance seemed more like evil than anything else. Like the coma's people were put in after their starseed's were removed. And she was angry about it too. While her own family hadn't been affected, they were now bugging her to leave Destiny City mercilessly. She was glad that her real phone was with her clothes, safe in subspace storage.
She'd called Sailor Rosalind what seemed like hundreds of times, with absolutely no answer. It just rang, and rang, and rang. Which meant that her new patrolling partner was probably under whatever magic this was too. From what she'd gathered, Seth, Fallon, and Jada had made it into the hospital too. She idly kicked a rock with her foot. She had so much pent up energy at this point, the sailor felt like she could take down a youma solo.
Most of all, above anything else, Sailor Perseus wanted answers and she wanted them now. SO much had been hidden or left out when the senshi had been described to her. ********* gave the basics, Chloe had filled her in more. She knew enough to know that this smelled of evil and corruption. And if you wanted evil and corruption in Destiny City, you went to the Negaverse. The problem was, Perseus didn't know how to find the negaverse. So for now she paced in the park, frustrated and alone.

Demy, in the hospital again, monitors beeping out their dull rythm and flashing green lines and blips that seemed to scan the room and its patient and visitors like hungry eyes of digital vultures. The terrible hiss of air, the saline and other 'drips' that helped ensure the health of all those people who had fallen into a sudden and unexplained coma. Bad enough that Demy was there... that his partner SCHEELITE was there. But also his cousin, Beth...after everything that had happened to her lately. It was the final straw. Seeing them both there looking so... small, so diminished in the bleached blankets with their vaguely medicinal smell that only just attempted to cover up other odors that were far less pleasant. Things that put his imagination into over drive as to how the might die a slow and lingering death fading away till they almost would seem to be transparent, skin clinging over bones the way his Grandfather had... creepy. Terrifying.
He hurled the flat rock over the surface of the pond, this time at least it bounced and skipped across the surface of the pond rather than adding to his frustrations by sinking like a determined submarine yellow or not. "Bastards"... he cursed no one in particular. Maybe some yet unnamed spirits, there had to be something to blame, something to take his frustrations out on in the end hadn't there?

The repetitive 'plunk' 'plunk' 'plunk' had only just begun to register in the senshi's senses when the sound changed. Before, it had been something heavy dropping into water, but now it was lighter, like something skipping across the surface. As quietly as she could, Perseus walked on her toes over to the pond area, avoiding having her heels click on the surface of the concrete. When she crossed over into the grass, the sailor began to walk normal, trying to keep low and out of sight. When she got closer, she noticed a familiar uniform. It was Lieutenant Zinkenite, the boy she had talked to just a few weeks before. Under normal circumstances, Perseus would have greeted the boy in front of her amicably, but tonight was different. Tonight she was frustrated with extra energy. She stepped out from behind the tree she had crouched by, striding over to the boy proudly. She stopped a ways away still, giving some space between her and the boy in front of her. "Who exactly are you calling a b*****d?" There was nothing nice in her tone. Her voice was bitter and angry, and her white gloved hands were clenched in fists.

He glanced at her, a spark of vexation rising like a hot ember in his chest at her demeanor, at her demanding. His eyes -raked- her as though demanding an explanation for this brisk manner and curt tone.
"Not you... clearly." He said his tone as clipped and short as her own before he turned to cast another stone into the pond. It struck and drowned without so much as bubbling fair well before it vanished under the rippling black and broken reflections of the moon.
"Unless you are, in which case it could be inferred that I was. That being said, regardless of your parentage it was NOT you to whom I referred." The words were a razor blade of sarcasm at points as he stooped for another rock of questionable skipping quality eyes never leaving her or her clenched fists and angry eyes.
"Why..." He demanded, as blunt as a hammer in the slight chill of the evening air.

Perseus returned the lieutenants stare with one that could freeze blood in a lesser human. She wasn't sure what affect it would have on him, but it was the best she had. Unbeknownst to anyone she practiced her facial expressions in a mirror; she was a pro at them. "My parentage is impeccable." The girl sighed, trying to relieve some of her built up tension. It didn't help much, but the chill breeze helped her think a little. "I'm a little frustrated." She took another step forward towards Zink, keeping out of arms reach. "If you haven't noticed by now, there seems to be a lot of people in coma's all of a sudden." She eyed him suspiciously. Perseus didn't know what was going on, but it sounded like the MO of the Negaverse. "I don't suppose you would know anything about it." It was a statement. She tried to say it neutrally, but her adrenaline interfered, making it sound a bit harsher than she intended.

His gaze was suddenly more hostile. "And you think, it's us..." He said matter of fact-ly. of course she did, why would she think otherwise. Had he not known that his Cousin had collapsed in the middle of the street, or that Demy had done so in the mall... what would he have thought. He was still unsure to be honest, part of him anticipated another 'wave'.
"Well." He said in clipped tones. "I am -so- sorry to break it to you. But the blame doesn't lie with US." maybe that was it. Maybe that's why Beth and Demy... he knew them both, what if this was a calculated move to hurt the Negaverse the same way they operated. Of course...why hadn't he thought of that... they had all kinds of strange powers, why not!
"Or was that a brag." He added, the words chasing the tail of that thought in a bitter round about in his stormy mind.

"Oh my, how classy." She turned to face him, staring. "I think you are forgetting who is tainted and who is not." Perseus wasn't the one who had been corrupted into having extra powers. She was born with them, she deserved them. "Besides, they seem to be in a coma much like those living without star seeds, don't they?" She'd heard whispers on the street. Other senshi had been sending out messages, everyone had been affected by the coma's, senshi included. The whole thing just seemed to reek of negative energy. Negative energy which the lieutenant in front of her supplied. "Isn't that what the Negaverse does to people? Kill them, put them into coma's and cause victims pain and anguish?" She scoffed, her stance rigid. The more Perseus talked, the more she felt like punching Zink in the face. Which, admittedly, she'd just learned how to do properly this week in self defense.

"It would be the perfect cover for an attack then wouldn't it. A most excellent example of psychological warfare, it might have been -flawless- had it only been a touch more convincing in its execution."
He shifted his footing, girl or not he was about ready to become violent. He was so damned tired of being pushed around and jerked around and utterly disrespected.
"Are you -proud- of the work then? Because it's certainly shaken things up."

"You know what, I've had enough of this bull." Her booted heel wiggled once in the soft ground before it decided on more decisive action. The sailor crossed the distance between the two of them in a few strides. And she did something that she'd never done before. Her fist reeled back, and she shut her eyes before propelling the white gloved fist forward. It was just like class had been, with the exception of she was aiming for a face rather than a punching bag. Never in her life had Adira resorted to solving a problem with physical aggression, at least not that she had instigated anyways. She had always been the one to retaliate, and usually it was the diplomatic approach. Perseus didn't know what would happen, but she knew that she had been the start of it. And the girl was strangely at peace with that fact.

He saw it coming, he just couldn't quite believe it. Something about the person whom he had danced with, sat on a park bench with, whom had otherwise behaved as a proper lady, who's side was almost DEFIANTLY responsible for the attacks because certainly HIS side for once wasn't...
And her white gloved hand was accelerating towards his face at a rather surprisingly well executed pose and with what he judged just a fraction of a second too late... to be an unfortunate degree of accuracy. He staggered, his jaw exploding in a white burst of fire and pain as sparks danced across his vision in a tiny wave. He could have imagine tiny scheelites holding a rave with them. That was probably not a good sign but he spent no time considering the odd notion. He looked back at her rubbing carefully at the bruised jaw a look of utter, shocked indignation on his face. He was not perhaps an excellent fighter, but he wasn't a piss poor one either. He had at least some strategy on his side, and while he did not have time to prepare a proper plan he took the first option that seemed tactically sound.
He risked his own balance, praying that his own closer proximity to the ground would assist him, and lifted one black booted foot to try and stomp hard onto her own.

Her eyes went wide open with shock when she felt her hand make contact with something, and make contact with it hard. She was even more surprised when she realized that her hand had made contact with his face, silver blue eyes going wide with regret. This was about the same time she realized that her hand hurt, and it hurt like nobodies business. "Augh. God, I never realized how much that hurts." She shook her hand and held it up to her mouth, biting down on the side, trying to relieve the pain. So focused on her own pain, she didn't realize the lieutenants attempt at retaliation, with his large boot landing squarely on her own booted foot. Unfortunately for Perseus, however, her boots didn't offer the protection that she wished it had. The girl gave out a cry, tears coming to the corner of her eyes. Trying to keep her head in the game, Perseus did the only thing she could think of. It was a tripping move, learned early on in her self defense class. Stepping closer, the girl attempted to get as close as physically possible, and moved to both wrap a leg around one of his and an arm around his waist. Perseus turned one caped shoulder into his chest and shoved, hoping to bring him down.

It was not his most articulate moment, nor was it his most graceful. His feet shuffle ground into the grass and dirt as he tried to keep his balance, arms pinwheeled, he shoved and reached and grabbed nothing but air at first till finally they clutched, something, cloth and metal under his fingers were the focal point of everything for a moment as he tipped, and tottered like a top almost out of momentum. The sound he made was only as profound as "Gerrk!!" which he would deny later if confronted and profess it not to have been uttered at all, after all proper masterminds did not make silly sound effects.
Ultimately, he wondered why it took so long for people do discover gravity. It was the oldest nemesis to anyone who wanted to keep their balance in a precarious situation let alone anyone who wanted to stay aloft. Either option would have been preferable to the short trip he found himself on towards the grass where he landed in a profoundly undignified heap without ever having released the strap he'd somehow in his flailing managed to clutch at.

Perseus gave out a triumphant "Hah!" before being promptly pulled down with him. A pair of hands reached out and blindly grabbed at her, managing at the last minute to wrap around the bronze cuffs that held in her collar cape. What particularly registered in her mind was the fact that she was falling. Because of her leg position, and the force pulling down on her, Perseus ended up somewhere between laying on top of and straddling the shorter lieutenant she was fighting. Which was also, incredibly awkward. A deep red blush filtered onto her cheeks, which felt like they were on fire. This was ridiculous! As soon as she tried to move, however, she realized one more very important point. Zinkenite's hands were still wrapped around her sailor collar. And in the pulling and moving...they'd managed to move a bit further south than was comfortable. She felt revolted at the whole thing. Trying to get up, however, was another story entirely. Her leg was trapped underneath his body. Perseus was crushed up against him in an intimate and uncomfortable way. Not wanting to take a low blow just yet, she did what any lady would. That being letting out an disgusted noise and moving to slap him across the face (thankfully or unthankfully for him, it was opposite of where she had punched him). "Get your hands off of me!" She didn't bother to hide the tear or two that managed to leak out of her eyes. But she was strong, she was a Sailor Soldier, and she would not cry.

"WHAT!? No!!" He protested, his eyes wide with shock and alarm at the slap. The whole nature of the fight changed with one open handed hit. He'd gone from adversary to 'cad' in one badly placed grab, then again what did she expect?! It wasn't as though they had a profound amount of uniform to latch onto. "YOUR the one who pushed me over! I am not trying to... I don't even... I AM NOT A PERVERT!" He flustered at last bright red in the face and trying to defend himself by blocking his face from further strikes. It was defiantly not one of his finger moments in the negaverse, had he his wits about him he might have continued trying to ward her off or even GET her off.
Of course that was about when he thought he caught voices approaching.
"Waitiwaitwait... did you hear something?" he demanded in a 'whisper' that closer to normal speech.

"Well then your kind've EVIL and I don't know which is worse!" Perseus, even bewildered and not thinking straight out of pure adrenaline rush had to add the 'kind've'. She couldn't call Zink outright evil, considering he wasn't. He was kind and smart and....wait, why were they fighting again?
Regret came flooding back into her mind and she stopped trying to hit him. "I..." She was cut off by the lieutenant whispering at her. The sailor stilled, leg still trapped underneath the boy who was trapped underneath her. It was a dumb situation at best. The sound of heavy boot falls and people talking reached her ears.
Perseus dropped her voice to a whisper. "Oh s**t. By the sound of it, its guards." Her mind raced, trying to think up a plan while the boots made their way closer. They must have heard the pair fighting and went to investigate. What to do, what to do!
"My leg is trapped underneath you, I think it would be best if we tried to disentangle ourselves before they get here, but were going to have to roll to the right first." Also, her leg was starting to hurt. It was crushed at an awkward angle, still trapped in much the same place it had been when she'd tripped him. Bright silver-blue eyes bored into Zink's, only inches away from where they had been whispering. Situation had gone from bad to worse.
