It was late morning when Midra woke up. She was usually not that lazy but last night dream was too sweet to wake up from. She noticed her brother already left they're little burrow for breakfast. Looking around lazily Midra was waging should she go back to sleep or go in search for Nkosana. She closed her eyes for few more minutes planing to go back to sleep but than got up and stretched her legs. She just couldn't ignore her hunger anymore.
Outside the sun was warm and bright forcing Midra to blink till her eyes got used to the light. This is what she gets for sleeping in. She looked to the sky. Not one cloud was there and she knew it will be a hot day.
Walking slowly she found her brother peacefully munching on grass. It was they're favorite place to eat. The plane was wast and grass was sweetest. We shouldn't forget a small stream that was near by.
'' Morning brother. ''

Nkosana was munching a particularly sweet mouthful of grass. He was gazing dreamily out across the plains, his mind somewhere else entirely. A smile curled at the edge of his muzzle and he sighed, lowering his head to n** up some more sweet grasses and to continue the process.
He was so lost in thought that his keen hearing did not pick up Midra’s approach or greeting. It took Nkosana a minute or so to realize he was no longer alone in his breaking of the fast. He turned his head to see his lovely lil sis Midra eyeing him.
“Oh! Good morning Midra. You slept in rather late this morn….are you feeling alright?” He seemed the caring older brother and he was. But today his mind was so focused elsewhere that he over did it slightly. He was hoping that Midra didn’t catch his lack of attention to his surrounding. He gave her a bright smile.
“Good pickings today…”

Midra giggled. Her older brother could be over protective from time to time but she loved him for that. Surprised she managed to come so close to him without him notice it Midra tilted her head.
'' Sure I am brother. But what about you? You seem bit distant this morning. ''
Midra wondered what was on Nkosana's mind. Or maybe he was still sleepy. In that case he should have done the same thing as she and slept in.
All this thinking made her hungry and she looked at the grass beneath her feet. The grass was still young. Midra's favorite. With her mouth watered she took her first nom of the day. Yea the day will be perfect for lazying around. Of course if her brother didn't have any better idea's.

He tilted his head at her for a moment in thought. Should he tell her of the possible new member...or should he say members to their small family? Looking at his sister and knowing her...sooner was better.
"Its a mare...I should have told you sooner. But I have found a mare who will join us as one of mine. She's expecting my offspring soon." It was a lot to throw at his little sister so soon after waking, but it needed to be said.
Letting the news hang in the air, he lowed his head and nipped up more sweet grass to chew.

Midra almost choke on her breakfast from the news she just got from her brother. A new mare... offspring... she an aunt?! Who was she and where she came from and how long has her brother been seeing her when she is already expecting offspring with him. She looked at her brother while all those questions rushed through her head.
'' How?! What?! When?! Where?! ''
Were the only words she could say at the moment.

Nkosana smiled to himself and finished what was in his mouth before turning to look at his precious sister.
"I found her wandering in the woods. She stayed in a little grove I found by a stream and pond. I've been visiting her there every time I check our territory boundaries. In a way I've been courting her. She is my first mare of many I hope."
He smiled at Midra.

Midra wasn't sure what shocked her more her brother smiling or his calm talk.
'' Now really brother how could you have kept something like that hidden from me! From you little sister. How cruel! ''
But Midra couldn't stay angry on her brother to long. After all this meant she would become an aunt. And she loved foals. She hopped closer to her brother interested to learn more usable information. From the way this conversation was going she will have to ask many questions because her dear brother was giving her too little info.
'' So what is she like? How does she look? When are the eggs coming? When will I meet her?! ''

"Oh my dear sister. I'm am terribly sorry that I did not inform you sooner. I should have made sure that you two would get along! Well I will need to make arrangements to bring her here."
He smiled with affection at his sister. He loved her dearly and was so besotted with his first mare that he completely overlooked the fact that his mare(s) will need to meet and hopefull get along with Midra. But her next set of eager questions got him to right out grin and let off a harty laugh.
"Well well Midra....slow down. I shall tell you about my dear Shoshana. She is quite a beauty. White with some stripes and a long and soft tail. There is a blue flame at the end! Cool to the touch even. It is the weirest thing. And her horn....as clear as ice and when the sun hits it...oh the colors that it shines!"
His eyes sparkled as he told her about Shoshana. She was indeed a beauty.
"The eggs will arrive soon...So I must bring her right away. She can lay them in the safety of our home."
