So I'm on the pit leadership this year and I have the job of telling the upcoming freshmen that got kicked from to drumline to pit that they're in the pit. What can I tell them to convince them that pit is better than drumline? (Not saying we are, I just need them to think that so they'll stay)

ok, the best part about the pit is that you bloody play more stuff!!!! its a place to really show off, i mean seriously, who would want to play one instrument all the time? can we say boring? i was a pit captain in hs and it was fine. just grab you a cowbell and stick for time, they will thank you later. as for tellin them they aint on drumline just say they too good for the line. in all honesty, the pit section is the show off part. ya stand still so everyone can get a good look at ya and you jump from instrument to instrument. plus when you march you cant show emotion or have fun. you gotta be in sync with others. not all that fun. when your in the pit you can jump up and down if you want, smile if you want, roll the marimba into the stands and play on their bloody faces (not recommended). point is, the pit is not meant to be a percussion dump. it is THE best part of the percussion section and should be bowed down to by everyone else. rofl pirate
