Well, I'm sure everyone can agree that the current races are unique and cool in their own ways. But FFXIV is going to be a new game. Wouldn't it be wise to add something new to the world? Im not talking manthras either. A completely new race. I actually found this topic on CORE but too lazy to sign up for that site. I guess I personally wouldn't mind if they didn't add a new race if they added TONS of customization, from the alpha videos they didnt seem to have many features. (then again it was alpha) (Post pictures if you have them of a race you'd like them to add from previous series, or your own creative one. :3 ) My girly side wants bunny girls  but that isn't really unique. It's mithra with different ears. Same problem with Ronso's too. They are familiar to Galkas. gonk The possibility of being an anthro moogle sounds cute too..

I have always liked wings so something like an angle/fairy would seem really cool to me. I also think bunny race like in 12 would be cute 4laugh

I wantz manthras. But as the races are setup now, there is already 1 more playable male character than there are females... the highlanders are male only. So if they add manthras, that will be 2 more male characters than there are females.. so i hope they allow us to play female highlanders and make a galka counterpart that doesn't look anything like galka/roygedyn. I want some alien looking creature lol... idk, I got no ideas. I just think it's gonna be sooooo sexist if there wont be any female highlanders, and yet highlanders get higher STR stats than midlanders.. that would mean no woman could ever be as strong a character as a highlander.. and I want to play melee.. so that bothers me sweatdrop

Read this excerpt from the Sea Wolves description. "The Sea Wolves originally hail from the islands of the far north seas, where they still subsist as fishermen and women. Long ago, no vessel or coastal village was safe from their maritime brand of brutality. Now, it is not uncommon to see them employed as sailors or naval mercenaries on all manner of vessels." Seems like a possibility. I would like to see male mithra as well. I always wanted to be a Mithra in FFXI but for some reason I always want to play as my own gender in MMO's so I went with Hume and this time will most likely go with Midland Hyur if male Miqo'te are not added.

I actually wouldn't mind there being an additional race... though there's nothing I had in mind. I just like to know options are there... maybe a variety of Toneberry's!

I do wish that they'd have a Final Fantasy Online where I can play as a freaking moogle, like the moogles in 12. Also Viera and Miquote have similarities don't they? 3nodding

I would just like to see more character customization in creation then they have in FFXI. 16 choices per gender isn't a lot >.> >.> I'm actually severely surprised in FFXI's several updates they didn't add a salon quest with new hair/face styles... or atleast to change your face. It's not like face styles change stats or anything lol.

Now I want to point out that if they make a new race available it would have to be unique, and actually viable to play. Tonberry, while a famous and kinda cute monster, has always been kinda evil and trying to stabbity stab stab me dead >.> At least Moogles have always been quite helpful and entertaining.

Yea but... I'm sure they could make some friendly Tonberries biggrin
Ones that don't stabbity stab you dead...
Like blue and white ones with white robes... instead of green yellow bug eyed ones with brown robes.
They could live and command an entire civilization in a cave waaaaay deep down away from light...
and when you go to configure your face and hair you'll never be dissapointed... cause chances are you look REALLY similar to the guy/girl next to you!
Tonberries are a sure FIX for an addable race!!
OR EVEN MALBOROS!!! Like tactics style... we all look the same- just different colors and spit and slime... and tentacles... and tongues... eyes... mouths... stench?

It was mentioned that they do have female models of Roegadyn and male models of Miqo'te ready and they may/probably will let these options become available much later after the game has been released. That would at least only leave 1 race specific race/tribe and I'm guessing they would release a female version for that too then.
