Yuki made her way through brush careful to not make a sound as she went. Her mother had sent a bird to her father but Yuki had intercepted it before it had reached the brown male. Yuki knew that her mother, Eun Mi, was expecting Mauja instead of her.
What was it that her mother wanted and why was she contacting after all this time. The small cheetah was about to find out that was for sure. What was it that her mother was up to and why had she given her up.
Yuki had always wanted to know why her mother gave her and her sister up over her other siblings. Part of her resented her mother for that. She just had to know.
Now the female neared what looked like a cheetah and .. a cub? The female lifted a brow as she entered the small clearing of a make shift nest her mother had made. She said nothing, Yuki didnt have to. Her face showed what she was thinking.
---------------------------------------
Eun Mi had another cub. The little thing had come as an unexpected surprise and something the female could not bring back to the pride. Eun Mi hated her self for it but she was going to see if the father of her first litter would take the little bundle of black off her paws. So she'd sent a bird and waited , nursing the little one best she could.
Yuki appeared instead though. Eun Mi would recognize that blue white fur anywhere. She'd birthed her after all.
"Yuki....?" She lifted her head. "What are you doing here... where is your father..?"
-------------------------------------
Yuki frowned as her mother didn't seem the least bit happy to see her. Disappointed even.
"I intercepted the bird. What is it you want mother," Her tone was stiff and cold. Her mother had no warmth in her words after all.
---------------------------------------
Eun Mi's mouth hung open in shock.
"Im sorry if I offend you but .. you are not who I sent for." The little bundle of black stirred in her paws. "This is a matter for adults you see."
-----------------------------------------
Yuki rolled her eyes, "You find that some where or something... Trying to pawn it off on another to take care of. Honestly mother... "
She could feel rage tingle up her spine.
---------------------------------
"Yuki! Its not like that! " Eun Mi lowered her head in shame. She'd not expected to have a cub out on her pilgrimage to the different places of water. But here she'd had one. Another to add to her family.
Only this one .. it was strange she didn't remember mating. Eun Mi was sure she must have though, how else would this have happened.
"Yuki this child is from the spirits. I can not take her back with me you have to understand."
--------------------------------
Yuki snarled at her mother.
"Understand that your dumping yet another responsibility on some one else. How dare you!" She growled. Her mother had no love for her. It was hollow all these words.
------------------------------------
"You have to listen to me Yu-"
---------------------------------
Yuki had risen an unsheathed paw and smacked her mother. Yukis breathing was heavy now.
"NO YOU LISTEN!" She growled, "I had to grow up with out you. You gave me up and now that I come and finally get to really meet you.. you're not even happy to see me. HOW DARE YOU ! Would you treat this cub the same if you ever ran into her years after? MOTHER?! HUH! "
Her mane was sticking straight up now. She was pissed.
-------------------------------------
Eun Mi laid there tears streaming down her face now. She'd not thought about that. She was being so selfish now wasn't she. The female looked down at her new cub and buried her face in the dark cubs fur letting her tears stream down.
How could she ask now. How could she....
------------------------------------------
Mei stirred a bit as her mother buried her face in her fur only to coo softly and smile.
------------------------------------------
Yuki stood there feeling the anger wear down. She was starting to feel empty now that the anger was leaving.
"You do want to dump this cub on some one else," She said her tone in a smaller voice.
------------------------------------------
Eun Mi lifted her head, tears still streaming down her cheek.
"When you put it like that... it sounds heartless."
-------------------------------------------
Yuki laughed and gave Eun Mi a look.
------------------------------------------
Eun Mi looked away. She nodded her head.
"I cant.. I cant take her back with me."
------------------------------------------
Yuki sighed.
"I'll take her then." She regretted the words once they left her maw. She'd never gotten to know her mother but here she was denying this little cub the chance to get to know their mother. Both of them would grow up not knowing their mother... The idea popped in Yukis head.
"I'll be her mother. The mother I never had," Her voice slashed at her mother with a spiteful tone.
-------------------------------------------
Eun Mi still looked away sniffling. She said nothing.
--------------------------------------------
Yuki growled, "What are you sniffling for. Dont be so pathetic . I said I'd take her!"
--------------------------------------------
Eun Mi still looked away. She was broken now. It hurt , the idea of giving this cub up hurt more then words could ever express and now a daughter she'd given up to the litters father was calling her out on it. All the hurt returned like swift knives.
"Im sorry.." Eun Mi's voice was choked and small.
---------------------------------------------
Yuki felt her self tremble some. She didnt feel right. This didnt feel right.
"Are you.."
-----------------------------------------------
Eun Mi choked some. She was but the words wouldn't form. Only more tears.
---------------------------------------------
That had been enough for Yuki. Eun Mi was sorry. She knew it. But Yuki had all this anger now. DAMN IT!
"Whats her name.."
----------------------------------------------
Eun Mi looked up at Yuki. Her eyes now swollen from the tears she'd shed. Was she.. serious now. Where had the anger gone? Was it still behind her soft blue eyes.
"Mei."
----------------------------------------------
Yuki smirked. "Mei, cute." She lowered her head to the cubs level. "Mei.." She repeated eying the blue eyed black furred cub. "Mei."
------------------------------------------------
Mei batted a paw at Yuki and giggled.
-----------------------------------------------
Eun Mi forced a smile at that. The two sisters. The two given up by such a selfish mother. She choked again on her tears. It really hurt. She had to give her up though.
"Mei and Yuki.."
--------------------------------------------------
Yuki didn't look at her mother as she grabbed the cubs scruff around her neck. She turned her back on the blue cheetah and started off with out anything more. Eun Mi didn't protest and neither did Mei for that matter.
Yuki would take care of this cub. Mei was hers now. Her mother had no place for them but Yuki would make sure this cub grew up with as much of a mother as she could be.
-----------------------------------------------------
Eun Mi just watched the two disappear. She knew it was unlikely she'd ever see either of them again. She knew she was watching two of her daughters walk off for possibly the last time ever.
It hurt. It really did.
