The largest of the kingdoms in the North Blue, it consists of an enormous island, surrounded by a group od smaller, scattered ones. The entire kingdom is ruled by a monarchy in the icy palace at the center of the kingdom on the high mountain ranges. It is currently ruled by the corrupt tyrant Eishisho.

Matsu and the doctor appeared in the middle of Imperius Rex's personal quarters. Imp was currently in his human form, six feet tall, sweating, muscled like a classical sculpture, and absolutely stark naked save for a loincloth. "Ah, my friend Matsu. Do come in, yes? Have a seat, I'm sure you've had an interesting time. And..."
He covered himself. He'd just noticed the doctor, Asa. "Oh, dear. This is embarrassing, isn't it? I'll just... go get some clothes on."
He turned around and scuttled behind a curtain.

"Eeeek!"
Asa was splayed on the ground, her cap askew and her coat rumpled from the sudden jolt away from the ship. For a moment, bewilderment. Then-
"Waaah! Where am I? Where am I?!" she wailed running around in panic, not really going anywhere but running on sheer panicked energy. "Where's Lady Herai? Oh I'm lost! Looooost! Never to see the sky again!"
At times of her extreme panic, she fell into complete and total hysterics, wailing and running around for all she was worth, making outrageous assumptions. This was usually remedied by a swift bonk to the head, courtesy of Herai, but of course she was not here. That only left Matsu, who was more likely to set her head on fire, and the enormous, terrifying figure that had appeared before them out of nowhere.

Matsu sighed as he grabbed a hold of the woman's collar, half-choking her and splaying her out on the ground. "You will calm yourself and be less of an annoyance so long as you occupy the same building as myself."
Imp stepped back out from behind the curtain, still the size of a normal human being and clothed in simple, bland pants and a shirt of dull, washed-out red. They didn't look any different from the clothes that peasants wore. They were roughly as comfortable as peasant clothes, meaning they were a good deal softer and less starched than the clothes nobles wore. "Sorry, I just got finished training. What is it you want, my friend? And why are you holding the other human by the neck?"

Simply because asphyxiation wasn't giving her much of a choice, Asa calmed down as she gasped for breath.
As it would be, it was merely a result of shock and panic that had left Asa mis-sizing the stranger. He was very muscled of course, but Asa could see that she was even taller than he was at her abnormal 6'8. But the muscles bulged from his body in a way that made him look bigger, and hence Asa panicked. As normal.
"Where am Iiiiiiiiii..." she whined in a high, squeaky voice as she felt her very soul begin to trail dangerously out from her own mouth at being uncomfortably suffocated.

Matsu glanced down at the doctor and let go, allowing her to hit her head on the floor. "In the personal quarters of the most powerful being alive, located in the most hostile country in the world. Kindly be quiet."
Imp looked at Matsu reproachfully and bent down to help Asa up. "It is rude to talk so to a woman, Matsu. Would you like something to drink, miss?"

"N-no th-thanks," Asa stuttered, sinking her head into her coat like a turtle. "Can't you send me back to the dragur nowww? Lady Herai's got dinner to eat and if I'm not there she might get poisoned and then the countrywillfallapartandtheniI'llhavenowork-" she began to babble, a common side-effect of panic, while whirling her thumbs in circles dizzyingly, teeth chattering with her stutter as she rambled on.

Matsu sat down on a plain chair. "The odds of Herai being poisoned while on a ship operated by men and women who think of her as a living god are slim to none. And in any case, I know for a fact that she has at least two poison tasters with her at all times, in case one merely has an allergic reaction to something instead of truly being poisoned. As for why I am here, friend Imperius, I regret to inform you that this island will soon be a principality of the Skypiean Empire in all but name. Once Lord Gaoling dies his wife will gain the throne, she will welcome her daughter back, and the daughter will bring in the influence of Herai, the current God of Skypiea after the death of the previous, Enel. From here she will expand her influence to the rest of the North Blue, then to the other Blues, then to the Grand Line."
Imp shook his head mournfully as he poured a cup of something dark and hot into a cup. It was thick as molasses. "A true pity, my friend. I suppose I will have to move on soon, then. I rather liked the cold here, but a tropical climate will be a pleasant change. Perhaps Kaikan Island. I hear that the last of the Bz'ugda-H'ir'a have made a home there, along with one of the old Water beings. And, of course, a pharmacological treasure trove. Perhaps your rather attractive young companion would consent to accompany me?"

"Wha-No wait!"
While panicked at the sudden change of location and company, Asa was quick to defend her queen. "Lady Herai only wants to unite the four seas! Lamia would be allied to Skypiea...allied!" she said defensively, "Lady Herai knows that the White Seas are just as a part of the world as the other seas...you're misunderstanding everything!"

Matsu and Imperius looked at each other, blinking rapidly. Then they both burst out laughing. Imperius's laugh was big and booming, like a drum, and Matsu's was the opposite, a cracked wheeze like a buzzard. "I misunderstand nothing, Doctor. I am very good at reading people, and your 'God' would rule over such an alliance or union as surely as she rules over Skypiea, even if such a rule were to be indirect. You may be in the employ of the 'God' of your nation, but you understand her very little if you take her words at face value."
Imperius shook his head and patted Matsu on the shoulder. "Do not belittle her too much, friend Matsu. It is the nature of followers to be deceived. Miss, perhaps a bit of time on vacation will help to... loosen your nerves. You are obviously over-stressed. Would not a vacation seem in order? I hardly think that your mistress will miss you if you were to vanish for a week or so."

Asa felt hot with humiliation, fists clenching in undisputable anger, knowing that an attempt to punch Matsu...or this "Imp" person was totally fruitless. It prickled and burned under her skin...until it reached the normal outcome.
She was completely covered head to toe in thorns.
She was sure she could control such a thing if she'd practiced, but it was something that happened often as a child. Under shame and distress, moved to the point of tears, she would become absolutely covered in spines, like a cactus. She pulled out a small dial and looked around for a call snail.
"I'm going to call Lady Herai to see if she can't pick me up at the border," she sulked, "I don't want your help."

Imp sighed and shook his head as he, without any apparent effort or discomfort, picked Asa up and sat her down on his shoulder. He grew suddenly, topping out at ten feet. "There are no transponder snails in Gaoling, unfortunately. Not for the past five years, at any rate. Lord Gaoling has been rather too paranoid to allow outside communication. I could always take you with me, and you could meet up with your mistress later, possibly when she comes to pick up the recently-cured snake woman on the island I'm planning on vacationing on. What do you say? It could be fun, and I'm sure you could find some way to cure your own nervous affliction."
Or not, Imp added to himself. But then again, a year on Kaikan can cure anything. Nervousness, cowardice, or breathing, if caution isn't used.
"I have finished my business here. My hitch-hiker will have to leave with you, Imperius."
He tapped himself and vanished, leaving Imp and Asa alone.

"I-I'll be f-fine on my own," she stuttered, eager to jump off Imp's shoulder. "I'll just go through the woods...I'll be fine."
She was surprised that her thorny self didn't so much as puncture the sudden giant's skin...but she could be as resourceful as Herai in a serious situation. "Lady Herai needs me...and not just for medicine and doctoring," she said, defensively holding up her hands. "I'm sure its very n-nice on Kaikan...but I have to go."

Imp smiled as he picked the doctor up again. "If you try to leave the guards will kill you. Lord Gaoling accepts me, and you would be accepted as my guest because he daren't do otherwise, but the moment you are seen without me you will be killed or jailed. If you want to leave the island in one piece you'll have to come with me, miss. If you've no particular attachment to your attachments, as it were, go ahead and hop off my shoulder again."

"Y-you don't have to carry me! I can walk!" she squeaked, feeling like a mouse being carted around by an elephant. "And I can run real fast if I have to! Eeekkks I wanna go home..." she whined again, wriggling about in the giant's hands.
