Fyulisi wasn't stupid but she was in denial. She was out for a walk, feeling like she needed to try to be productive despite not really feeling up to it. She didn't forget the stupid thing she had done not too long before but part of her figured (or hoped) that if she just ignored it it would go away. So, in the spirit of trying to ignore her problems, a slightly wider Lisi was off to do what she had been spending much of her time doing: hunting. And it only took a couple tries to get tired and frustrated. Then she was just sitting out in the grass looking grumpy.

"Heeeeey!"
Biski was, however, kind of stupid. In the sense that she didn't quite know how the world worked (and hey, the Pridelands wasn't as baby-hoppin' as it once was), and no one had really thought about teaching her yet. Or, well, she hadn't ever thought about asking. Learning to hunt well was enough on Biski's plate at the moment.
But, was Lisi getting fatter? Maybe she was just hunting that well.
"Resting?" Biski asked, catching her breathe from running over to see her sister.

Not expecting company and not having seen her sister coming, Lisi nearly jumped out of her skin. Maybe denial was making her paranoid, too. She shook her head and put on a smile when she realized it was just Biski.
"Yeah, hunting is hard today," she grumbled, "What are you doing out here? You still working on your hunting?" She curled her tail around her and shifted her weight to a more comfortable position, which wasn't as easy as it should have been.

"Huh?" Hunting was hard? For Lisi? "Not really, I'm kind of done with it today." She wondered how much longer she could keep putting it off. Probably not much, since she was getting to the point where results were being expected. Not depended on, but she needed to contribute more than an old hare here or there.
"If hunting is hard, how come you're a little more pudgy?" She poked at her sister's thigh gently. "I think you're eating well lately!"

"Oh," she mumbled, not entirely surprised that Biski wasn't spending too much time hunting. She didn't seem to like it very much, but maybe that wasn't the whole story. She didn't think she was very good at it, that would make it harder to keep trying and get better. She squeaked when she was poked and her weight was commented on.
"I am nooooot!" she whined, getting to her feet and looking down at her legs and then to her belly. Biski wasn't wrong but Lisi didn't have to acknowledge it.

Biski just wasn't good at it. She was, however, better at looking for things. She just hadn't quite realized it yet. Soon enough she would, and maybe she would find her place. Maybe. The young lioness didn't put too much care into everything. Her family, though, sure meant a lot!
"You sure?" she said, tilting her head to the side to look at Lisi's belly. "I think you've been eating the good stuff." Something really rich to keep that much weight on! Biski was almost jealous, since the good stuff was goooood. She just...wouldn't want to get fat like that.

Lisi huffed and followed Biski's eyes down to her belly. She really shouldn't have been getting so upset, her sister was mostly calling her a good huntress.. but she was also calling her fat, she wouldn't have liked that under normal circumstances. But being called fat when she was starting to think she might get stuck with a baby.. that wasn't easy to listen to.
"Nu-uh," she said, shuffling anxiously, "I haven't!"

Biski wanted to listen to her sister. To believe her. And so she did! But she shouldn't really be denying that she was getting fat. Cause she kind of was.
"You are," Biski insisted. She straightened herself up, looking at Lisi carefully. "I think you're going to be bigger than me. A growth spurt?" Man, it would kind of suck to be smaller than her sister.

Her resolve was weakening as her sister continued to insist that she was getting fat. She didn't even know why the idea worried her so much, mom and dad didn't seem like they would care much, they weren't exactly great examples. But grandma and great grandma shared a story that made it a little more worrisome. And rambling about love with Momo before..
Mostly, she was confused and uncertain. That's why it was just easier to pretend it wasn't happening. And, frowning, she stared at her sister, wondering if it would be best to just say it. Biski wouldn't be a bad one to test the news on, her sisters would understand better than any of the other ones.
"I'm not just getting fat, and I don't know about a growth spurt," she said, her voice getting quieter and more grumbly as she continued, "I think I'm going to have a baby."

Biski leaned in a little closer to listen. Whatever it was, Lisi didn't seem too happy about it. She scooted in close, but when it was done, she didn't know what to think. She blinked owlishly at her sister, wondering if she had heard her correctly.
"You're...you've...what?" Biski wasn't mad, her voice hushed at the end. She was more in disbelief, as she didn't think her sister was...well, who was she to judge? Biski kept hiding the fact that she sucked at hunting, even if everyone could probably see it.
"Oh, so I'm going to be an aunt?" she chirped, quickly covering her mouth. She didn't think Lisi had told anyone else, and thus should keep her trap shut.
"Accident?"

Lisi watched Biski react to what she said very carefully. Unfortunately it wasn't very helpful, her reaction seemed a reflection of at least part of what Lisi herself felt. But.. that was a good thing, wasn't it? And when Biski asked if she would be an aunt, she finally smiled. That was a good attitude, it didn't have to be that big of a deal. Not in a bad way. Maybe.
"Yeah," she said, answering both questions and then glancing as best she could towards her middle, "I mean, I am getting fatter. And I know how it happens-" Lisi hadn't been shy about asking.
"Do you think mom or dad will care?"

Biski looked at Lisi's stomache. Well, the little bit lower part that was a bit more round. She looked back up at Lisi, mingled feelings of sorrow and excitement. Biski wouldn't have been able to take it very well. Lisi just seemed stronger.
"Well. I don't know..." Biski had never even thought about what they would think. They weren't the pair of mates some other family's were like, so it was hard to judge. "I don't know, you think Mom might take it better than Dad?" Dad wasn't as much a dad as other dads were.

Lisi glanced up to see Biski looking to her middle, just where Lisi had been looking. It was hard to deny there was a change, and she did know it was possible.. maybe she just wouldn't be having a whole lot of them. Which was good.
"I dunno," she said thoughtfully, trying to imagine their reactions. They could hardly get mad, they had to deal with illegitimate children at one point.. but.. they just couldn't.
"Maybe dad would be excited," she said hopefully. He did always seem to be having fun and never really seemed to get mad at them.

Biski was sad that Lisi was full of so much worry. She understood, but didn't like it. This should be something to be happy about! Lisi wasn't alone in this, and Biski needed to verbalize it.
"Don't worry," Biski said with a determined swish of her tail. "No matter what, I've got your back on this." Biski felt her sister would do the same for her, so why not just throw it out there? "Do you want me to be with you when you tell them? Or are you just going to....wait?" Wait til they come.

"Thanks, Biski," she said, cheering up a bit thinking about how they might be excited and how Biski would be helping her. It was comforting, she was being silly to be so worried about it.
"I dunno, how long do you think I could get away with not saying anything?" Lisi thought about her options, particularly about surprising her parents but they would probably be surprised anyway and a baby probably wasn't something to use as a surprise, "Probably shouldn't wait, should I?"
