He called the little desert Oasis he had found, home right now. He hadnt had a home in so long, that he had taken to this place rather quickly. He lived alone, no one around but him.. Though he knew of a pride that was not very far off in the distance. He knew he could make it before nightfall if he wanted.
But.. did he want to?
He was rather hoping to meet others of the pride, before deciding after all.. He was not the type to expell all his energy, without a good reason..
Purple eyes gleamed, and he let his tail fall back in forth as he leapt down from the tree he had been rather stuck in for a little while.
Walking onwards, he knew he was bound to run into something interesting.
Though Shani was in the Dawnwalkers and loved her home. She couldn’t help but wander the borders. For something- anything to amuse her. The pride was nice but her mother and father were considerably older and were content with settling down. They had been rouges for quite some time and well she figured by now they were tired of it. Shani on the other hand was young and full of energy. She wanted to roam and wander. Finding adventures…and Snorks. Even if by now she figured out they were imaginary.
He blinked when he saw the ivory female in the sunlight. She stood out beautifully, and he was forced to jawdrop. Though he was never the type to voice it, he zipped his lips but offered a friendly smile.
"Hello!" He called. He wasnt sure if it was friendliness on his part, or his charm. He was never an intensely friendly guy.. Though he did have a good heart once you got to see it.
"What are you doing out here on your own?" He asked, a very serious question. He hadnt known females wandered alone often.. he thought that seemed too brutal for a gentle thing such as a female.
Shani stopped and turned her head in question as she heard the male call out to her. She immediately dashed over to him with a bounce in her step. Ever friendly to wandering strangers. “Well- my pride is a little over that way…” She dabbled a paw in the direction of a dune. “But ya know I like wandering by myself without all the ‘supervision’.” As she liked to call her mother and fathers eyes. They were loving, but strict. She couldn’t get her paws dirty if they were around. She quickly looked down to her white toes and noted they were more sandy colored then white. She’d have to clean them before heading back.
“I’m Shani by the way. It’s nice too meet you!” She blinked once or twice then parted her maw in a warm welcome smile.
"A pride you say? You belong to that pride that I heard about Id imagine, if its so close to this location in where we stand." He gave a smile, and looked in the direction she seemed to have come from. Maybe she was what he was looking for in regards to asking about the pride.. She was pretty enough to hold a conversation with. He was content where he was at the time being.
"The name is Marut'Tiki. Though I rarely ever go by that, and most just call me Tiki," he smiled, and nodded.
”Well…I go by um Shani…” She couldn’t shorten her name any further like him. She was just Shani. “It’s nice too meet you Tiki.” She gave him a once over and thought that he was quite handsome. But she was still quite immature for her age and didn’t connect two and two together about males and females.
“Yea my entire family lives there- and the new cubs…” She paused on that; thinking about the new cubs. Maybe that was why she needed to get away. They were NICE. But they were STILL cubs. And she dredded the chewing and clawing she got every time she went near her parents. “Yea. I have a lot of siblings.”
He had first taken her words to mean she had cubs, and it made her instantly unattainable. Though when she said the word siblings, he sighed a breath of relief and gave a lighthearted smile.
"Siblings can be great. I never had any of my own. Come to think of it, I dont remember my family at all."
He smiled once more.
"Pleasure to meet you Shani. And I look forward to hearing of your pride!"
“They can be great sometimes…I have…” She thought about it. “I have about ten siblings.” She rolled her eyes at the thought. “But you know- you can have some of my siblings if you want. I’m sure Ma wouldn’t mind another nanny hanging about.” She chortled at the thought of the new male being a nanny. It was bad enough her father who was one of the biggest strongest lions she knew was a nanny. That sure threw the family life into some kind of disorder. “Me. I’m trying to be a priest…but I’m more apt to wander then stay in a temple and pray all day. One day maybe I’ll want to stay put like my parents…”
He smiled at her, giving her a nudge with his nose in kindness.
"You sound like you have high goals, priestess. I think you can achieve it easily, you seem quite intelligent."
He responded, which that was a plus.. He liked intelligence, though he was a laid back sort of guy, so he guessed if you werent intelligent.. he wouldnt really hold it against you.
"I dont know that I want the siblings, though thanks for the offer. I think I like my wandering ways. But im looking for a pride, and settled close to my favorite pride.. Though I know of it only from stories."
“You should join the dawnwalkers. They really are a great pride. Really great for bringing up family. They aren’t like some other prides that are against certain species…everyone is equal. Except maybe the gods- but then again they are GODS so they deserve the extra praise. At least I think so.” She nodded at the thought.
“I could uh…take you there sometime and show you about.” She then thought about her father some. “But dad’ll think I’m marrying you if I bring you in to meet him- not that it’s necessarily a bad thing.” Your quite a strapping male; she blushed. “Any girl would be lucky to have you.”
He blushed a little and chuckled.
"And you are definitely a looker yourself. Caught my eye the second I spotted you."
He responded, and looked at her with a gleam in his eyes. He was a trickster after all.. He liked when she gave him little ideas of how to prank her own father.. Yet for now he would keep at bay.
"Let me know when you need a male on your arm, to give your ol' man a scare."
He responded.
She thought about that seriously for a moment. “I think you’d give my mom a scare more then my dad.” She paused. “Though I’m up for it if you’re game.” She smile curled deviously- but was still cute and harmless at the same time. “I’d like to see what they think when I brought a MAN to the den.” She couldn’t help but giggle girlishly at the idea. But she’d kinda feel bad for Tiki. She knew that Feleji would dote on him to the point of insanity that his daughter got a handsome mate – and he’d be a granddad soon. And mom…well she’d give him the examination of his life to make sure he was perfect for her little girl. Though it would still be something she’d like to see unfold. Mom would probably whoop her for pulling such a prank.
"Sounds like a plan. Just lead the way." He said, motioning her forward with his paw.
"Need to get started, before all the fun wears out of the idea." He chuckled, flicking his tail, and looking at her with mischevious violet eyes.
“I’m up for that idea 100%!” She pranced her paws in the sand then realized she was full of it from the knees down. “Excuse me a second if your wouldn’t mind.” And she turned and took her tongue and cleaned off all the sand. She turned about with her white toes showing once more. “Mom likes a clean house. Sorry about that. She’s not keen if I’m dragging sand into her den- ya know even if we live in a desert.” She shook her head and raised her shoulders confused. “I really don’t get it either.”
