Hi,

I got me a computer recently, it's a Windows computer, and uh, how do I access the "Control Panel?"

You have to delete the folder "system32" before you can access the Control Panel.

And then you need to reformat and repartition your hard drive.

Noticed the arena floors are "hard," but hard what? Wood?
PostPosted: Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:22 pm

packed earth, i'd wager... were this a martial art tourney, wood might be acceptable. but when people can.. burn and explode things, the floor catching fire isn't appealing or cost-effective.

this isn't word-of-god, but it's what i'd go with. let's see what he says.

Much appreciated- yeah, you can probably tell why I want this clarified. But this right here:

"..the floor of the arena is a glossy hard floor with the logo of GTB painted in purple and pink upon the white sheen."

..makes me kinda doubt it's packed earth/soil, but if it is, no biggie.

I'm disputing the vague description of my arena.

I need some cloud cover or some s**t. I mean, it's supposed to be 11am... so I need to get a sun orientation here. Are the entrances on the East, West, South, North sides? ( tops bottoms ) Is the sun up, are there clouds, can I somehow close the roof of the Stadium? How tall is the Stadium? What kind of angles of shade do I have available?

Just butting in for clarification: KB's character if exposed to direct sunlight, gets damn near insta-melted. IC, the staff noting this probably wouldn't have him fighting in a setting that would take advantage of this unless they're badasses jerks, and so I'm sure there's an easy way to cover this that won't have any impact on the fight itself.

Tarp over the arena, clouds, arena shield GoGo Gadget, something. I like the tarp idea, because then the enemy could try and get holes in it if they have a way to really bone him, but in a reasonable fashion.

That way, we don't get a:

"KB's character walks in. His opponent walks in. [KB'S CHARACTER'S MORALE HAS FALLEN]"

Well, I think most modern sports stadiums have some sort of rain-dome that can extend over the area in cases of bad weather.

Do you think it's safe to assume that something like that is the case?

Looks like some sort of Poke-E-Man Stadium, cap'm.

Hard, glossy floor painted in purple and pink on white. Not really descriptive, but it's definitely not dirt. It's also not tile since they wouldn't paint over tile. Concrete is a possibility, as is wood... but I doubt wood. Basketball courts aren't really known for the durability of their floors.

Linoleum over concrete would be my choice if I wanted to make a hard, smooth surface with no noticeable seams.

Alright; really didn't want to do this, but I've got a few issues with Vincent vs Maleficent.

Basically, the drama started when a kick was thrown at my opponent, he shrugged it off and grabbed the leg, then throwing himself into a shoulder check, aiming to throw my character down, but at the same time blasting himself into my character's spiked armor. Then, however, his character instantly spawned hundreds of spikes all over his body at once, and defined no size at all. When I asked him via vent, he claimed simply, "They are 2-3 feet long" which would have meant instant death. Well, despite a bit of drama between us, we worked it out, and he gave me the benefit of the doubt to change the spikes to the same length as my character's armor spikes, which were a little over an inch, which seemed appropriate.

Well, from there, my character, after being taken down, had an exposed side of his character's neck, which he grabbed for to choke. Ignoring an armored thumb crushing his wind-pipe, he transitioned into an arm-bar, completely blowing it off. I ignored that, and went to slam his character, a good counter for an arm-bar when your character weighs 280 lbs and his weighs 160, which was confirmed via MSN. However, instantly, his character is able to transition from arm-bar to triangle choke mid-slam, grab the back of my character's skull, and instantaneously shoot spikes into his brain, basically.

I could be confused, but shouldn't an ability like that have a limit? Isn't impaling someone's skull lethal, which is prohibited in these tournaments, and among all else, how can someone transition from one choke to another in a span of a second.

I'd just like to have a judge read the fight and make a ruling, hopefully so we can start on a clean-slate without all of the drama which has already been caused.

I would like to add he actually transitioned to a triangle choke as you turned onto your knees.

Therefore he had time to do this. As you lifted he then lifted himself and spiked you.

Is it lethal? Yeah.

Is it possible to do what is know as submission transition very quickly?

You ******** betcha. Jacare could show you that pretty well.

Edit:

Also like to add a thumb to the wind pipe isn't going to slow anyone down unless you have control over there head. Since you just 'grabbed' at him he can move around and basically makes that useless.

Technically, his head was pinned against Vince's side as he came to the ground. Vince's hand wrapped around his neck; a hand of a seven-foot tall man weighing in at three hundred pounds is massive. The long fingers wrapped around the neck while the thumb crushed in the wind-pipe.

Granted, it would hurt.

Would it stop from throwing out an armbar? I doubt it.

Either way, he did kill you. Which is illegal.

But yeah, that is his problem.
