Perilous Mist: Main Gates

The main gates to Kirigakure, the path to these gates are constantly shrouded in Mist, making it near-impossible for anyone who hasn't come to the Mist village before to find their way here through visual aids alone. Most of the time, if the shinobi isn't from a hostile village, one of the many patrolling ANBU operatives will find the shinobi and lead him to the village, keeping a close eye on the visitor until he leaves. Anyone who wishes to enter Kirigakure must pass through these gates and fill out the form:

Name: What is your rpc's name?
Class: What type of shinobi is your rpc?
Rank: What rank is your rpc?
Equipment: What does your rpc have on him/her?
Reason: Why is your rpc coming to Kirigakure?

Any visitors who appear to be hostile or who give good reason to be suspected of being hostile can and will be attacked by the jounins, chuunins, and ANBU operatives that protect the gates and patrol the surrounding areas 24/7 (these npcs may only be rped by a Mist shinobi of jounin+ rank). If these guards are defeated, then an alarm will automatically sound throughout the village warning of a breach in the defenses at the gates.

Unless otherwise stated, the gates are kept open.

Mizukage in Title|Special Jounin|Taijutsu Class|Genjuu Kinzoku Bloodline

From a distance, what looks like the gates looked fine if only a little weathered, but up close one could see where high velocity projectiles or some other sire of small but high quantity attacks were made to punch hundreds of small holes through the wood of the gates and surrounding walls. The great arm that locked the gate had been splintered to bits by the attack and what remained lay useless in its grooves. It remained only as a formality now, but offered very little protection since it no longer locked or hid those inside from view. Deil turned to the two genin he had brought along with him to see their expressions and to get their opinions. "So, where should we begin? I guess we could start with the overall design of the gates and its utilities. Any ideas? I don't have any experience with this sort of thing, so I figure some bright minds like yours can help me with this construction project." A general feel of happiness surrounded Deil now that he was out doing something physical that would secure the village and put him one step closer to going home. A small smile appeared on his lips and his eyes didn't seem tired anymore as he awaited responses from the two Mayu.

Kiyoko surveyed the damage with constructive sad eyes. It was sad to see the defense of her home in such a state. She glanced at Deil and was curious about his happy look. He didn't seem o tired now. She wondered why. He asked them what they thought and she pitched in an idea.

First I think we need to clear anyway any loos debris or any structure on the gate that isn't stable. We might have to completely rebuild parts of it" She explained gazing at the gate. She was glad to be working on this. The gate was a good symbol to her. She looked to deil with what he thought about her idea.

Deil Grist
Mizukage in Title|Special Jounin|Taijutsu Class|Genjuu Kinzoku Bloodline

"Well, that's a place to begin at least. I think we can all agree that this set of gates is beyond repair. Time to tear them down." He untied the knots in the ends of his chains and unleashed a little of their length, then wrapped them around his fists like mitts. "I'll take care of the demolition work if you'll burn the debris. He stood before the broken gates and took a moment to ready himself, then brought his leg up to waist level and stomped out at the wood near one of the great hinges. The wood splintered and was crushed by the force, but a chunk was left hanging by its hinge. Deil then leaped into the air and smashed in the same spot up above with his fist, which did the same thing and caused the gate door to fall to the ground outside the village limits with a great boom. After repeating the process with the other door, he went to work with tearing up the doors. Chunks of the timber making the door were ripped from it, and then those chunks were pulverized by punches from Deil's powerful arms. The steel made from the bones of his own body easily protected his flesh from splinters, and his metal bones kept the force of the impacts from breaking his fingers. As he systematically destroyed the doors, he expected the two Mayu to pile the wooden fragments to prepare to burn them outside the limits of the village.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Clan ~ Kirigakure ~

The village gates. Tattered and abandoned by the motherly care of time. No matter how many times Mileena saw the gates, the same feeling of dread would not leave her. It would always tease her silently, letting her know that it was foolish to rely on it for any form of protection, and the way she saw it now, that was all too true. She shuddered at a memory of several years ago, but quickly came back to the present through the guidance of Deil's words. Once he had finished with what he had to say, he smiled. To Mileena's surprise he actually smiled. She had never thought him to be the type of person to smile for anything, much less refurbishing a ruined landmark, yet, what she saw now only served to disprove her speculation.

Kiyoko's idea came first, and Mileena saw no room for objections. They should start with removing all the unnecessarily unstable wreckage, and only then would they be able to safely consider newer, more advanced methods of rebuilding and adding to the village's defense. Mileena watched as Deil went about tearing down several old pieces of wood from the remnants of the gates, and couldn't help but feel slightly jealous. She lacked the physical strength most others possessed, and it always bothered her ever so slightly that she would never be able to achieve those traits. Once he had finished laying the woods out, Mileena proceeded to pick up what her dainty little hands could manage, and brought them over to a nice, clear spot to the right of the village gates devoid of trees. She went back for more and continued the process for several minutes until most of the debris was in a single pile.

Kiyoko watched silent for a moment as Deil started working on destroying parts of the gate that hand no hope in the first place. She was glad he agreed with her, and that Mileena had no objections. It seemed as if she was doing well so far. But the leader role was not one she wanted. She preferred to be back up, but then again she always had an issue with following certain forms of authority. She watched the kage with a smile as he worked. He was strong and seemed dedicated to his work, which was good for a kage.

She began her own work. Picking up and moving things that she could do alone. There wasn't a lot she had to help her "sister" with, but she did help her on occasion. Kiyoko worked hard, not stopping and not giving herself time to think as she moved things into their steadily growing pile. She glanced at Mileena.

I find it curious he would group two kinsmen together don't you? She asked wanting to talk to this girl more. After all she had been here the whole time and Kiyoko never knew She wondered if Mileena knew about kiyoko's parents.

Hyouton Nero | Genin | Kirigakure

"If it can be done...

User Image
Nero walked down to gate, which he could see was being obliterated by the same person he had seen the clones of in the Mizukage's office. This must be the Mizukage. Wonder who those two girls are... He thought to himself, his hands in his pockets. He yawned, turning to face the Mizukage. He was a bit nervous, though it didn't show. Of all people...it had to be the one with the most authority of anybody. It had to be the Kage...why couldn't it have been just a regular person....what if he says not to help? What if he thinks I'm just joking? There's not much else to do.... Nero thought to himself.

He took a step closer to the group of people, grinning. "Hey, I came from the Mizukage's office...where the Miz-...I mean, where somebody told me to come help. It might have been the Mizukage, or it might not have, I don't know exactly I was...umm...distracted." He lied. He knew it wasn't true, and he knew it wasn't the Mizukage. The only truth was that he didn't know who told him. He could see who it was, and who the voice came from, but didn't have a name for them, so he decided to just roll with it, though he had a feeling they knew he was lying somehow.

He decided to use some of his deduction skills for a quick second to figure out what clan they were from. They weren't very strong looking, and they were small. One of them was quite short, and the other wasn't too tall either. Unlike most people, their lips were quite small, apparently from lack of use. They weren't being used to form words, or to speak. In fact...from the silence of the situation, he gathered the possibility they couldn't speak at all. Hah...somebody who can't even talk. Whoever heard of that? Though given their traits, I have absolutely no idea what clan they could be from....it's weird...I'm usually able to figure this stuff out. He thought to himself, unsure of why this was such a mystery to him.

He yawned, unsure of what to say or do next. He decided to play it safe, and do nothing, and say nothing. He decided he would simply wait to see what one of them did, or wait until they said something for him to respond to. He sighed, hoping it would be over somewhat soon. He had a lot of jutsu to practice, and his bloodline abilities..they were hardly even started. He felt buried in the amount of work he had to do, but shook it off and decided to focus on the matter at hand. He stood silently, waiting for something to happen.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Clan ~ Kirigakure ~

Mileena heard Kiyoko's question resonate in her mind, and she thought about it for a moment. Could it be that maybe he just didn't want to separate two kinsmen who had finally found each other after so long? No. That couldn't have been the reason. That deduction would have given the Mizukage even more of a reason to keep them apart, simply because having both their skills on the same team would be fruitless. Maybe he had something he wanted to talk to them about personally. No. He only just met them, Mileena especially, a few minutes ago. Mileena's head veered to the right slightly as the wind picked up speed and sent her hair, though held up with the feathers and beads, flailing gently to her side.
"His reason escapes me. I do not see the point of redemption of having us on the same team, well, except of course for the fact that I get to be close to you. That being besides the point however, maybe he has something he wants to say to us. There is no way to be sure until he explains, and his thought s are hidden from me". Mileena looked at Deil as he worked, trying to figure out the meaning behind his actions.

She felt another consciousness approaching, and heard a male's thoughts dancing through his mind clearly. He was thinking of the Mizukage, and who herself and Kiyoko were. The boy came closer, and Mileena turned around so that she could better assess him. He looked about her age if not older, he was wearing a lot of blue as far as she could tell, and he seemed to have that lazy look in his eyes as he walked with both hands in his pocket. She listened to him address the trio in general, stating his reason for having come to the gates. Mileena picked up on the lie immediately, but said nothing of it, even though she couldn't even if she had wanted to. Mileena seethed on the inside when she 'heard' the boy make fun of her and Kiyoko about their inability to speak, though she was for the most part impressed that he could deduce so much from just seeing them for the first time.

Mileena realized his train of thought come to an abrupt end, and rolled her eyes when he yawned. She produced her notebook from her pouch and began to right on a sheet of its paper. "Hello. My name is Mileena, this is Kiyoko, and that man there is the Mizukage. As you can see, we're currently in the middle of rebuilding the gates with some improvements to be made. It's nice to meet you. Forgive me for using this book as a means of communication, but I prefer not to 'speak' if it can be avoided. Do you have a name?" She walked over to him and handed him the notebook with the words she wrote. She looked up into his face, scrutinizing his features, and looked away quickly when he realized that she was looking at him. Mileena could tell that the boy didn't want to be here, that he wanted to be elsewhere. His trepidation was all too obvious to her.

Writing? That's so inefficient...why not just talk? They couldn't have been using the book for so long while talking to eachother. There's something she's neglecting to tell me...because they've been communicating with eachother without the book....but how? I mean...if they can't talk then.....no. That's ridiculous, and completely, by all means, impossible. Psychosis? Please....that's not even the slightest bit realistic. He thought to himself. He was enjoying being around them, mainly Mileena, as he very much liked being faced with such intensive deductive projects.

It was trying. It was hard to decipher by such small details, but he knew something weird was going on. It had been 14 years, and he didn't know of any clan that had the properties these two girls had, so he figured there was a reason. However, that just made him want to know more, but there was nothing else as of now to deduce from what they were doing. If he was going to figure it out, he would have.

He took his own notepad out from his own pocket. It was smaller than Mileena's, as his was used to write down observations on abnormal things. For instance, before responding to her, he jotted down the notes about the mysterious clan. It took only a few seconds. Can't talk, mysterious way of communication, not muscular, small in size, probably intelligence based, as they don't seem to have abnormal speed or strength. Members of the "____" Clan. He said, writing a line, which was the only audible sound of the entire writing process. He then tore it off and stuck it into his other pocket.

He began to write on a new leaf of his notebook. "Hi, it's nice to meet you too. As for your method of 'speaking', please, use any method you prefer. Whatever is easier. My name is Nero, by the way. From the Hyouton Clan." He said, not neglecting to tell her what clan he was from. All in good time....all in good time.... He thought to himself. After all, they had just met, it wasn't really a formal introduction either, as it was during a mission.

Kiyoko kept working for a while. She listened to her "sisters" thoughts as she worked and left the girl to think to herself. Her thoughts were very wise ones, and Kiyoko completely agreed with them. It was going to be hard to ask what his motives were without actually asking him. That was something Kiyoko didn't want to do though. She didn't want him to think that she was against him. She glanced at him to see he was working just as hard as they were. She was happy he was willing to look over their country despite the issues going on. There was obvious reasons to distrust him, but Kiyoko couldn't bring it to herself to be completely against him as everyone else seemed to be.

A young man walked up and his thoughts were racing a mile a minute. She listened to his thoughts with great amusement but she had learned the first time. There was no way she was going to speak to him mentally. She stopped for a moment to bow to him. He was smart, and very observative but she preferred to keep working. If he wanted to speak more to her he was welcome too, but they were busy and preferred to get this done.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Clan ~ Kirigakure ~

'He is so strange. Though I suppose it isn't very much different from me. Is he trying to be nice by copying me and writing his words down, or is he making fun of me?' Mileena watched the boy for any signs of laughter or even the slightest distortion of his facial features, and sighed and looked away when she found none. 'So...Another Hyouton clan member. Why does my past have to haunt me so'. Her mind wandered into the past yet again without her consent. She remembered that boy who had saved her from that prison in Sunagakure, but upon closer inspection of Nero, she would notice that he looked nothing like that boy. Realizing that she was being ruse by simply gawking at Nero, Mileena held up her notebook and began writing.

"You don't have to write in your notebook as well just to make me feel less uncomfortable. And if that's not the reason, and you think I'm deaf, then let me be the first to tell you that I have no such failing. Forgive me also if I stare. It's just that you..." Mileena never wrote the rest and looked down at the ground as she shifted her feet in place. 'What am I doing? There's no time for this. We have a mission that we need to complete as soon as possible. Mileena looked into Nero's eyes with an intense stare, urging him to understand what she was trying to say. She looked at him, then to the gates, looked at him once more, then back to the gates. If he couldn't figure out her meaning, then she would have reason to question his skills of argumentation.

"I haven't told the Mizukage of this as yet, but I have a plan that could serve to strengthen the gates defences so it can't be breached so easily in the late future should a time of strife bare face". Mileena pointed to the sections of the gate that Deil had already taken down with his bare fists and kicks, then she pointed to the edges around the entire gate that once was whole. "When Deil finishes with his task of destruction, we could reuse the more stable pieces of lumber that we've already stacked into the pile, and retrieve more that are just as strong. With the right tools and enough capable construction workers, we could build the gate in a different structure than it was before. The lower section of the gate could be around six to twelve inches perfectly away from the ground for easy opening and closing so as to prevent sounds of any sorts to alert a would be spy of an arrival or departure to or from the village".

Before she said anything else, she brought this ides over to Deil and showed it to him, wanting to get his thoughts on the matter before anything else was to be decided.

XXXXX
XXXXXAxel made his way through the village without any hindrance in his path. He knew all of Kirigakure like the back of his hand having spent so much time exploring it. As a matter of fact, Axel knew how to make his way around several villages including the former Sound Village and the Leaf Village, even though he hadn't been to both in quite some time. Flipping his body in order to land gingerly on the ground with his feet, Axel brushed any dust from his robes and ensured that his weapons were hidden safely within them. From the looks of things the Mizukage was helping rebuild the gates of Kirigakure along with several other genin ranked shinobis. Approaching the group, his flaming red hair wavered slightly in the wind as he placed his hands in the pockets of his robe and sighed. "Hey Deil...you said you wanted to see me again? Sorry to bother you here but you weren't at the Tower and I didn't want to disobey an order from the Mizukage," he said, a sense of coldness emanating from his voice as he said so. Now all that was left for Axel to figure out was: what is his role as a shinobi under Deil's rule?

Mizukage in Title|Special Jounin|Taijutsu Class|Genjuu Kinzoku Bloodline

Though the gates were quite sizable, Deil's work ethic soon made quick work of the damaged gates. His skin glistened with sweat that had not evaporated due to the humidity of the air, but he was no worse for wear. He turned to the two new arrivals and wiped the sweat on his forehead away to keep it out of his eyes. He responded after shaking the beads of perspiration from his hand. He responded to Nero and Axel jointly, with a tone much closer to complacent and off edge than it had been previously that morning. "Ah, more helpers! Thanks for coming, Hajime-san and Hyouton-Kun. As you can see, I've decided it would be best to start fixing up the village, and defense is always top priority. We're going to need supplies and more workers, so please go into town and ask some carpenters to bring supplies for the gate. Make sure they know that we'll need more materials than what was used on the previous gate, and that I will compensate them for material and labor. Don't get more than a few though, since that should be sufficient for our needs." To Nero, he made a direct statement by making eye contact. "Since you're distracted this morning, follow Hajime-san's orders while you two are out on this errand, and do whatever it is you need to in order to not be distracted when you return.

Then he addressed the two Mayu while he moved some of the bigger timber they couldn't lift into the appropriate piles. "I brought you both here because I know both of you are pretty smart, and therefore should make a good team for brainstorming how best to make a gate that serves our needs. Think about the terrain, the climate, and our ability to observe the outside while staying safe inside while brainstorming. He then sat on one of the larger timber in the reusable pile and wiped more of the light perspiration from his forehead. Thankfully his outfit was able to allow much of the heat to escape, but the humidity wasn't helping his cause much.

Nero groaned, he didn't want to go into town right now, as that's more or less where he had just came from. He raised an eyebrow, as he also wasn't incredibly fond of the Kage's sarcastic response. He opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it it, realizing how unwise a decision it would be to argue with the Mizukage. Especially after he had just watched him completely raze an enormous city gate.

He yawned and turned towards the town. "Whatever you say, Kage." Nero said, without looking at him. He somewhat objected to being sent to town on a recruitment mission. He decided he might as well listen, since the other two would probably not be able to have any objections. We'll talk later...I guess. He thought to himself, taking a last look at Mileena before turning back towards the city.

He took a few steps, then stopped. "Coming?" He asked the Axel, raising an eyebrow.
