This is one of my favorite holidays of all of them. It is a very important one for the Celts, because it was a time when everything was dying, it was a time of harvest, and it is when the veil between the planes are the thinnest. It's a very interesting holiday all in all.
The history alone on why children dress up, is really interesting, and the fact that it became All Hallows Eve(Halloween) by the Catholic church to help those considered heathens convert to Christianity, it just fascinates me. It's the one night of the year when I feel completely secure and free, and alive. It's hard to explain what it feels like to be standing outside at midnight during Samhain, it really is.

Samhain is one of my favorite holidays. I am not on the Celtic path but I am a descendant of the Celts on my father's side. I completely know what you mean when you say how alive and free you feel. During this time of year I feel like I am the most like myself and free of all the bonds of certain aspects of this world. I also find certain aspects of this holiday interesting.

Well it's nice to know that I'm not the only one that gets this feeling during that time of the year. Definitely.
