I haven't been on much lately, I've actually started taking a Japanese language class and been studying =P I just started learning Hiragana today and mostly getting used to the basic vowels - あいうえお and learned a little bit more Romaji.
Probably next week I'll be on more.

Ganbatte kudasai! xd Japanese is fun... but so so hard... I'm almost done with my second year sweatdrop A word of advice, don't try ot learn too much out of what your class teaches... you'll screw yourself in the tests razz (in college, that is. If you are in high school, i dunno)

Tsukasa Hiiragii Raven Dragon Suigintou Ganbatte kudasai! xd Japanese is fun... but so so hard... I'm almost done with my second year sweatdrop A word of advice, don't try ot learn too much out of what your class teaches... you'll screw yourself in the tests razz (in college, that is. If you are in high school, i dunno) I am doing my best smile I just started learning Hiragana at the moment and starting with the vowels and Dakuten. I have learned most of the days of the week and months. For less than a weeks work I am doing okay I guess, I guess that is because I've been watching anime for years and I picked up a few things. I'd really like to travel to Japan and stay there for a while, but its difficult to study abroad, maybe once I have a similar amount of College time as you do. Currently studying S and T Hiragana and learning about Dakuten such as か (Ka) turning into が (Ga). Hmm I thinking it might be easier to forget learning Romaji and stick with Hiragana, then maybe I might be able to eventually move onto Kanji. I know its kinder stupid since to a proper Japanese Kudasai these would be literally almost like kindergarten lessons lol but learning a totally brand new language isn't that easy especially if English is your first. あ I い Uう E え O お Ka か Ga が Ki き Gi ぎ Ku くGu ぐ Ke け Ge げ Ko こ Go ご - I think that is correct..if not I have to restudy them again =P The cool thing is I was given a program that allows me to write in Hiragana and Katakana without forcing me to get a new keyboard lol. At least, I think ツカサ means Tsukasa in Katakana but I haven't started to learn that yet, I think Hiragana is enough for now =P

At least, I think ツカサ means Tsukasa in Katakana but I haven't started to learn that yet, I think Hiragana is enough for now =P Since Tsukasa is a japanese word, you write it in Hiragana (i know this, since I accidently wrote my teacher's name in katakana, and she laughed at me... sweatdrop ) ^^ unless it's special and you like writing it in kanji. Haha, I almost got confused there with your a-go list, since you forgot the A at the very beginning, but I got it! :Xd I'm not feeling as slow as usual. Romaji is important. I wish I could learn from classes but my high school doesn't have Japanese >.> Oh well, I might just have to learn on my own. Until than, Spanish can treat me well. xD

Yeah, I forgot the A, I was tired when I was writing that out lol. I am not even going to bother with Kanji at the moment since that will take an extremely long time to learn. Best for me to stick with Kana. I haven't learned enough yet to actually have a basic conversation but I'm getting there lol rofl
I'm learning the basics then going back and relearning them to master them and to remember them before moving on, almost like the age old ABCs and 123s, practice - practice - practice to make perfect.
Anyway, I learned a little more bit Hiragana and, yeah Tsukasa is つかさ smile I think..lol I keep second guessing myself with Hiragana, not to mention I have a reference sheet I keep having to look at, only a few symbols I can truely say I have 100% memorised =P

Yeah, katakana is mostly for foreign words. Sometimes I see it used in onomatopoeia. A strange case is (connecting with slice-of-life) in the Azumanga Daioh manga where Sakaki imagines that the cat-thing she thinks is Chiyo's father is also Santa Claus. Ignoring the translation, the characters written in the panel are "me" and "ri". But one is hiragana, and the other is katakana. I don't know if that's normal, but it's strange to me.

I will be back more in the coming weeks, I have now fully learned Hiragana and I am in the progress of mastering it, learning to read it faster and faster of course, translating the actual words into meaningful English is obviously another challenge, so I am continuing to word build, I'm also about halfway though learning Katakana and I just started learning some basic Kanji, I'm up to about 10 symbols so far. I have been making a couple of new videos in my spare time. I made a K-ON one recently, but I can't put it up on youtube because of WMG issues...>.> however, I have it posted elsewhere. http://s759.photobucket.com/albums/xx236/tsukasachan/?action=view¤t=k2.mp4I need to fix a few issues with it, and I would like to find a creditless K-on!! go go maniac opening, but overall its not too bad.

I passed a major milestone today, I passed my katakana tests biggrin
I can now fully read ひらがな and カタカナ now! biggrin And I started learning Kanji, I'm up to about 15 symbols so far. My greatest triumph so far is actually identifying a few Kanji symbols, I correctly noticed 雨 earlier (means rain/stormy weather)
