This seems like a huge point of debate in the GCD, so I figured I'd ask everybody here what they think! redface
What are your thoughts on the new AIs? What do you like or like about them?

I enjoy the items, it's unfortunate they are only animated for a limited time.

I don't like them quite honestly. If a person has more than one animated item equipped, I feel like it would become a distraction. Plus, what is the point if they are only animated for a short amount of time? sweatdrop

Plus, what is the point if they are only animated for a short amount of time? sweatdrop I actually believe that you can only equip one at a time, thankfully. I too dislike the items. I was glad to find out that I could disable the animations because it lagged my computer pretty badly in the forums. Loading a thread felt like I was back on dial-up again. XD; The concept itself, though is interesting and it is one that many people have asked for. However, their approach to it wasn't very good. I believe they used a flash based program to animate them on the site which causes the layers for the animated objects to be completely different than those for the normal items. The animated objects appear on top of every other item for that spot. I wish they took some time to play with the concept a little more. It isn't like the users were told "You will have animated items on so-and-so date" and they just HAD to push the items out onto the market.

I like the idea of animated items, but I think they should be kept simple. The blush provides a perfect example of the way AIs should be - it adds some movement and character to the avatar, but it is not obnoxious. The other two would be fine if it weren't for the flying and sparkle explosions.
I am also not pleased with the prices. Why spend $10 on a sparkly halo if the animation is only temporary?

i am in 2 minds. on the one hand, they are hideously expensive and have a limited time to work. on the other, there's a decent halo, and being the first ever animated item (with their own new tab) means the prices will go into the stratosphere.
i'll see what people say over the next week both here and the GCD before i decide to buy one.

I know what you mean. The halo has potential to shoot up in price once it is removed from the Cash Shop, but I am not sure if it will retain its value once the animation runs out. Hopefully there will be multiple static poses available (the halo by itself, the halo glowing, the halo with sparkles, etc.).

funny you should mention the halo, someone gifted it to me (anonymously i might add) there's just the 1 pose. but considering the prices of the better halos out there, i think that's not important. yes, i think it could shoot up a few million gold if i'm lucky.

Wow. That is really kind of whoever it was. I suppose it doesn't cost nearly as much as other golden halos. It may be even more affordable once the animation runs out.
Who knows? Maybe Gaia's developers will decide to return the animation once animated items become more established. That would definitely make its value shoot back up.

The angelic halo? That's a completely ultra rare item, it's also the very first "donation item" (MC) A billion is very reasonable.
Some '03 users were given them if they donated to Gaia when they first started out and had nothing.

It's a glitch. It's been going on for awhile now. It will be taken out of your account within 2 minutes and you're given back your gold. Search for topics on it, people have been buying them for 1 gold and have them taken away.
If someone is selling them for small amounts of gold like that, take a screen shot and send it to a moderator.
