Ok Im watching this right now and they named the titanic for the Titans the enemies of The Lord and the Greek Gods(if ur Greek that is) well I think by naming it after the Enemies of God, it was destined to crash, for remember *cant remember verse #*
"Any who challenge the power of The Lord Will be smitened!" I translated it simpler, but I cant remember the verse #..

The ship was named that because of it's size, not because it was an enemy of God. If everything that was named after gods of other religions was smitten, then we shouldn't have the planets (all of which are named after Roman gods), the names of days and months, and some animals (some of their scientific names come from the names of gods). It might have been destined to sink, but probably not for the reason you're thinking of.

The word Titanic can also refer to something that is simply very large (i.e. comparable in size to the Titans). Additionally, I don't recall the bible stating that the Titans were enemies of God. In fact, I don't know that it even makes reference to the Titans of Greek mythology.
It should also be worth noting that the Titanic's sister ship, the Britannic, was also sunk, despite not being named for any 'enemy of God' - unless you consider Britain to be one of God's enemies. The fact is that ships sink all the time. The Diamond Shoals off of coast of the Outer Banks have hundreds of shipwrecks, most of which were almost certainly benignly named, theologically speaking.

God didn't sink the titanic. Stupid people did just fine there.
No, really. If that idiot of a captian hd turned the stupid boat a few degrees to the side when he was told of the ice berg, the ship wouldn't have sunk.

Yeah..okay? I thought the Titans were enemies of Zeus in Greek Mythology. Or was Zeus Roman?? It was either Zeus or Jupiter because they're basically the same god but one is Roman and the other is Greek. One of Jupiter's moons is named Titan, so why hasn't it been blown up? I just don't see any clear cut reasoning for the statement that you made. But again, if you could please find where in the Bible it mentions the Titans, that would be...different. P.S. Alchem_DeRogue enemies of The Lord and the Greek Gods(if ur Greek that is) The Greeks don't worship those gods anymore. That was in ancient Greece.

It was Zeus. Jupiter was Roman. And that's exactly what I said. So many of the planets, moons and stars are named after ancient gods. I mean, we have Orion's belt, all of the zodiac, and wow, the names just went out of my head. But yeah, the skies are full of references to the Greek and Roman gods.

The data must be opinion based, because the journals of the "Guarantee Grouo (the makers of the Titanic) wrote to be the oposing force of the Titanic's sistership, the Olympia. Olympia was sopposedly the home of the Greek God's, so if you were Greek this could be a reason...COULD BE. I never said it was fact. so just something that I thought I would want to see everyone else's opinions, I think it's 50/50. Depends how much you have on each chance..(natural vs. divine, etc.)

Titanic simply crashed because it went through the ice bergs and it was mostly the captain's fault. I think if the captain didn't plow through the icebergs then Titanic might've been here, but maybe God had other ideas. God probably didn't crash the ship, but he certainly knew about it. I guess we can not always understand God, but we trust in him anyway.

I thought the same thing...until it got to a certain part in the program...it turns out, members of the Guarantee Group(the makers of the ship) some were slowly "picked down" as in killed. One saw haley's comet and then was killed by a pile of falling wood and died the next day. One left simplyu because he didnt think there were sufficient life boats. He never made another ship Another died(cant remember why) and the rest went on the ship...and died in the crash...the fact is that, they were top class, according to the way things worked in those ways it was FIRST CLASS, women and children, then finally the rest...if they were first class, at least one of them should have survived in the Life Boat...yes I understand FREEZING waters, but some ppl did survive, they should have gotten in pretty safe...

The Titanic sank because it hit an ice berg.
End of story.
It was called 'Titanic' for its amazing size, not to become some form of anti-Christ.
And, quite honestly, I don't like the idea of thousands of innocent people dying because of the name of a boat.
That doesn't sound very loving or forgiving.
Anyway, it sank and it's over.
I don't think God hated the Titanic because of its name.
I think the captain should have paid more attention and had more lifeboats.

Dude, what the fudge?
If every person/thing who was named after a greek god/ess, they should have been smittened! by now.
Its the captain's fault. Not God's.

And why do you keep saying "if you were Greek this could be a reason"? The Greeks haven't worshiped the gods supposedly found of Mt. Olympus for THOUSANDS of years! The majority of the world turned away from that kind of paganism a long time ago. I'm still not convinced that a name could cause a ship to sink.
