((This RP is for Queen Beryl and all remaining Negaverse officers that are not in Tartaros. Regardless if you post or not, it is assumed that all officers, corrupted senshi and cats are present for the meeting if they are not currently comatose thanks to the Pyrite Crystal. If you wish to post, please PM me and I will tag you accordingly! Gracias!))

((Edit: The lead-in RP would just so happen to be here, in case there is any confusion!))

Destiny City was in complete chaos, shut off from the world as the unknown epidemic raged within it. The city was quarantied, schools and businesses were closed and while the streets remained quiet (for the most part), panic and worry plagued nearly every family in Destiny City.

But there was one place the police could not quarantine.

It only took the wave of her hands to summon the remaining forces of her army. As the Lieutenants and Captains appeared before her, all looked up expecting to see their tall leader, the dreadlocked General-King that struck fear and respect into each of them.

Charonite was nowhere to be found.

Instead, in his place, stood a woman most had never laid eyes on before. Hair the color of fire spilled down, long enough to brush the ground as her indigo hem grazed the surface of the marble they stood upon. Few had met her, but all knew who she was. Her power signature was overwhelming, stronger than anything any of them had ever felt before. It was stifling, as though the room had filled itself with pressure and was pushing down on each of them.

This was their ruler that Charonite had spoken of. This was the monarch that Captain Nealite held within her. This was Queen Beryl.

Obsidian was the first to fall to one knee, injured Tanzanite nearly in sync with him. It only took moments for the others to follow suit and soon the entire room knelt before its ruler, who simply smiled at this and lifted her hands in a welcoming gesture.

"My children."

Several Lieutenants exchanged glances with one another. This was not the same anger, the same harshness that Charonite drilled into them with each summoned meeting. Was their Queen not above the General-King? Why did her voice and words not terrify them then, as Charonite's did?

Her hands moved with her words and the speech began. "You have gone too long without knowing me. Without knowing the answers you need to the questions you have been asking. To the questions you have been too afraid to ask."

The murmurs among the officers lasted only moments, glares from the Captains quickly putting the Lieutenants back in their place. While the Queen failed to have Deathcord at her side, her aura alone was enough to keep the ranks before her silent, on the off chance her temper failed to be as becoming as her voice.

The smile she gave them was sweet, but pained. "It was never meant for you to be kept in the dark as you have been. Especially now, of all times, as we are under attack. It is time to fight back, to strike down those who have taken our loved ones from us. To eradicate those who wish for our downfall. But I will not send my officers into battle ill-equipped. Knowledge is power and I offer it to you freely, so use it wisely as one of the many weapons at your disposal."

She moved forward then, her hands clasping together in front of her as she looked upon the rows of Lieutenants, of Captains and senshi that knelt before her. Eyes met with each of theirs and she tilted forward in an elegant half-bow, her hands moving out yet again.

"Ask of me what you will and then I will ask of you only the same that I have asked of the General-Kings who served before you. I ask for your protection, your service, your loyalty. You are the future of Earth, you are the ones that will be honored when the Dark Kingdom is restored."

A single hand outstretched itself and the room fell quiet as she awaited the first question to be asked.

From more familiar surroundings, to -- well, not quite as but still increasingly familiar ones -- the soldiers of the Negaverse popped into existence into the still darkness and mirror floor of their underground headquarters. It was cold, very cold, like always, some were blessing their uniforms while others cursed it. Some appeared in somewhat amusing positions, having been in the middle of something or other before being yanked away from whatever it was: fingers curled around now-nonexistent cartons of milk, hairbrushes, forks, game controllers.

That was the problem with being summoned here without being warned about it first, especially if you were unlucky enough to have been taking a shower at the time. Because then your hair was wet, and it was really cold down here. Or if you were sitting down, that was just plain embarrassing.

Janice had been sitting crosslegged on her floor and peering over a spread of Mahjong tiles before they popped! away and were replaced with her own faint reflection swimming in the blackness. And quickly, curtly, Uranophane unfolded herself, winding her legs around until she was kneeling in unison with the rest of the group, breath catching and pulse racing in spite of herself. Beryl. This was Beryl. She stared straight ahead, at the tiny twin globs of acid-green lights her eyewear was making on the floor, and listened to her speak.

A pep talk. An... apology? A willingness to take questions.

"I have a question."

Uranophane pushed herself up from the ground, the clip-clomp of her shoes turned massive by the acoustics of the Negaverse cave-thedral. She stood up rail-straight, set her jaw, held her arms crisply at her sides. Making direct eye contact with Beryl was difficult, they weren't Ursula's eyes, there was a power and foreignness to them that was hard to look at.

"Forgive me, Majesty, but you just said," and she took a breath and ground her teeth a bit, "you just admitted, that it's taken too long for us to get acquainted with you. As our leader."

Another pause.

"Why is this."

Her smile never faltered.

"No forgiveness necessary, Lieutenant Uranophane. I told you to ask of me questions, didn't I? There is no reason to apologize for boldness, not when it's an answer you should have already been given."

Had Charonite been awake, there would undoubtedly be additional bold questions to be asked. But as the General-King slumbered, the Queen continued, uninterrupted.

"Have you ever heard of the phrase 'the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak', Lieutenant?"

The younger woman nodded her head, eyes still watching, waiting for an answer. Around her, Lieutenant Wolframite and Lieutenant Fayalite continued to stare up in awe.

"As you know by now, Captain Nealite generously offered her body as my vessel. Now, being the clever girl that you are, Janice, I know you've probably wondered the follow-up question of 'why in the world would you need a vessel in the first place, Queen Beryl?'"

A snort erupted from the group and she paused to stare. Captain Obsidian said nothing to follow up the noise, but Beryl dismissed and continued before Janice or anyone else had the time to respond to the noise. "The reason for that is simple. I was dead."

Her smile remained unwavering, even as the majority of those kneeling stared up at her in confusion.

"I am of your world," she went further to explain, "But I am not of your time. There is magic that goes beyond yours or my comprehension and it was through that magic that my soul was able to survive, even after the Lunar Court took my life many years ago. My soul was my gift to those I left behind - Charonite, namely, who was successful in finding a vessel for me. But even with a new body, I was forced to adjust. I had to learn a new language, a new culture. I had to regain my strength - staying dead for well over twenty years can certainly set a person back, I'm afraid."

She laughed softly, finding amusement in her own words. It lasted only a moment before she returned her attention back towards her inquirer. Her hands folded themselves in front of her, exposing the remnants of blood left unwiped on her fingers from her earlier discussion with Tanzanite.

"So, Lieutenant, my flesh was and still is weak, but thankfully my spirit has grown significantly stronger since I've been introduced to my new body. Charonite, my faithful General-King, has led in my place while I have recovered my strength. Had I been offered a stronger body to reside in, perhaps I could have returned sooner." A hand was waved, a casual dismissal of the notion, "But that, of course, is in the past and we all must move ahead. Charonite has fallen to the illness that has plagued the city so I have no other choice but to return now, to lead the troops once more. Had I been able to, however, I would have dearly preferred to walk among you months ago - years ago even - but I fear that simply wasn't possible. I had no choice but to wait until your General-King decided he was ready for me to return. It seemed he had other issues he preferred to attend to first, before waiting nearly two years to see to my vessel."

A hand rose and with it, one of the Queen's eyebrows.

"Captain Obsidian, do you have something aside from bodily noises to address me with?"

His mind had been in a haze to begin with; the entire city had been struck down by some invisible assailant, rendered unconscious and comatose with no signs of being able to wake them. What did he care, really? Ursula had been frantic to check in on him when it had happened, and from her obvious distress, clearly some of their numbers had fallen.

And then he'd been told Nikki was in the hospital.

He'd shown up without warning, half-prone to violence, but the sight of her silent and still body had been enough to drain the emotion out of him just like that. Her condition was stable, but like all the other patients, she showed no signs of waking. Her family had tearfully thanked him for coming, and he'd mutely nodded before slipping back out into the streets.

Then, he'd been yanked by an all too familiar pull into the darkness of the Negaverse, and found himself in full uniform, standing before a woman that sent an unconscious chill down his spine. Her, their Queen, and he needed no prompting to sink into a kneeling position.

With Tanzanite beside him, it was hard to miss how roughed up she was--or the blood, still staining Beryl's hands. Maybe that was why he'd snorted out loud when she seemed to patronize Uranophane, and when her attention fully turned to him, the captain rose to his feet without a word.

Charonite was missing. It seemed unusual for the General-King to let his wife and Queen wander about as she pleased, and he considered briefly that his absence had something to do with the panic in Ursula's voice before.

"Our purpose, my Queen." The title attached itself automatically to his flat tone, and those who knew Obsidian would notice the dark humor normally present in his voice was entirely gone. "What are you having us fight for? What are you going to do when we get rid of the senshi?"

What did she expect them to believe in, as far as the Negaverse was concerned? And though he seemed to be focusing solely on Queen Beryl, his mind was elsewhere, back to the blonde girl lying in the hospital without so much as a smile or a tart reply on her lips. It was hard to pay attention to much else.

"We fight, Captain, for our freedom."

If Beryl had been surprised by Obsidian's ability to form a serious question in lieu of a grunt, quip or sexual come-on, she didn't show it. Instead, she stepped forward in the redhead's direction, her hands still resting in front of her as she spoke.

"I would not have my soldiers fight for anything but a just cause. I will not allow those who have given their lives for this cause to have died in vain. The Lunar Court, for over a thousand years, has tried to take this planet for its own. My goal, from the beginning, has been to stop the Moon Kingdom from absorbing Earth into its dynasty. Earth has its own history, its own rightful ruler. I will not have our Kingdom dictated and run by outside forces - I will not have its people enslaved to the laws of the Moon."

Her jaw was set, the smile gone as she spoke in a seriousness to match his own tone. "When the senshi are driven out of this world, it is only then that we can be assured of Earth's safety, of Earth's freedom. What comes after war, Captain?"

Obsidian, like Uranophane, said nothing in response.

"Peace. I want Earth to be restored as it once was, without oppressive outside forces trying to take control. I want its history, its magic, its culture to flourish freely without fear. You and I come from this world. Everyone in this room comes from this world - is it not our duty to protect it? Is it not our responsibility to ensure its freedom for ourselves, for our children and their children? I only ask of my soldiers, Obsidian, what I myself am willing to contribute to the cause. When the Moon Kingdom is vanquished, we will live in a restored state of peace - I see no better way to end my days, than enjoying the peace and freedom of the world I was born into."

He had no time to respond before her attention was turned elsewhere, towards the small wide-eyed Wolframite, who had one hand timidly risen in the air.

"Lieutenant Wolframite?"

Being teleported was not only strange, but it was also inconvenient for those being pulled. One moment you could be driving in a car to being in a room full of your peers and superiors moving an invisible steering wheel. For Ladon, he had been trying to eat a sandwich he was forced to eat by Ivan, one of the doctors at the hospital and his temporary guardian while his family was comatose for the time being (or that’s what he was telling himself to keep his chin up). While he hadn’t been enthused to eat the sandwich from the start, he was less than thrilled when he was going for another bite and wound up in the Negaverse. He felt his stomach do a leap from the pulling force that brought him here before he fell down on his rear from lack of a chair and bite down on his own tongue. Smacking both hands around his mouth, he curled in as he held in any shouts, but his muffled whine echoed in the room. It was good for him that the entire Negaverse being transported made the first few moments noisy ones, people having been in mid conversation or singing in their car were now going silent and looking about. Once everyone situated themselves, either standing up or sitting down, they all settled on the woman before them.

If being teleported wasn’t enough to turn your stomach, the overwhelming force of power that consumed the entire room in a thick blanket of magic made him continue to hold his hands about his mouth until he felt he wasn’t about to regret eating what little of that sandwich he had. There had only been one other time he felt power like this, a thick crackling in the air that pushed on all sides until it felt like your brain was in a vice grip. It was what he came to assume the power of pure magic to be like, and associating a certain, murderous magic-welder to this woman was not something he liked or felt comfortable with.

This in no way took away from the even more consuming power of her presence, and before anyone started to whisper the word ‘Queen’ around him, he already knew. He had yet to meet Beryl, but he had heard the gossip as much as the other lieutenants had. He’d always assumed that Nealite wouldn’t have changed in any way, but she looked different to what she did now. You couldn’t even have said that Beryl was a sister or twice-removed cousin to Ursula. While they might have a few physical similarities, the way she held herself, moved, spoke, all said she was different all around. Not only different to Ursula, but different to a normal person.

Following suit, he dropped down to kneel, bowing to his Queen in respect as everyone else followed the Captains’ example, and then everything was quiet as she spoke. It wasn’t anything he expected to hear, and while he was shocked to hear that Charonite was also under this spell, he was also relieved to have the confirmation that they were no way responsible for his family being in the hospital. It also allowed him to be angry, as he could now look for the culprit, and he felt even better when their Queen shared the same sentiments.

He did not expect out of this meeting to have a Q and A. Addressing the troops to get to the bottom of this, yes. He was all for that, but he was more than surprised to hear that the floor was open for anyone to throw any question they had rattling around in their heads since the start of their introduction to the Negaverse, and Wolframite had a lot of questions rattling around to the point he could have been a maraca.

While he was taking in all the newest information, feeling many questions answered by other people, namely Captains, he tried to wrestle with which question to ask. Out of the many, the newest information created the freshest questions, and when he noticed others talking, he slowly rose his hand, hoping he wouldn’t ask anything stupid or already widely known.

“Uh – You thaid.." Wolframite stopped, working his bitten tongue to speak properly at such an important time. "- uh, Said that you were killed. Who killed you? Should we be worried about whoever killed you before?” He paused a moment, wondering if asking about someone’s death was too personal to touch upon, but wondering if whatever killed their Queen years ago was still a threat now. “And you said rightful ruler. Not rulers? I’m just a little confused.” He always assumed that Charonite as General-King and Beryl as Queen where the rulers. Was she the only ruler then?

She hesitated at that, the confident smile losing its strength.

"Yes. I'm afraid there is only one ruler."

Nothing more was said, more glances exchanged as the Queen turned to move towards the throne that sat behind her. Her skirts trailed after her, a mauve train of silk, which stopped as she approached the side of the stone chair. One hand moved out, fingers running across the surface of the arm. She remained quiet for a moment more, before she at last spoke again.

"The Earth's Prince, as handsome and intelligent as he may have been, was a foolish leader. He had the makings for a fine King. He had a strong army, a kingdom that adored him and a bride-to-be that loved him very dearly."

Her hand lifted, then, and curled into a fist before pressing itself against the cold stone. "But he, like so many men, had a weakness of the flesh. He threw all that he had away for a tryst. For an affair."

Her voice rose a notch as she grew upset, but the flame-haired monarch quickly subdued herself before continuing. "He betrayed his kingdom and chose physical pleasures over the responsibilities he had as Prince to Earth. He allowed himself to be seduced by the Princess of the Moon and had begun the process of relieving Earth into the Moon Kingdom's hands when his plans were discovered. The faithful woman he discarded, along with his devoted Cavaliers, took it upon themselves to protect the Earth that he had abandoned and they fought for their freedom. They fought for their kingdom in the hopes that their Prince would one day understand the error of his ways."

Moving away from the chair, she returned to stand before the remaining members of her army. She kept her chin high, however, despite the grimness of her expression.

"I was that discarded bride to be. And my Prince, Endymion, was too far gone to be saved. The Moon Kingdom and the Kingdom of Earth went to war and as the Moon Kingdom took their fair share of causalities, the Moon Queen used the power of her crystal to seal those of Earth away, along with her own child. In doing this, she gave her daughter the chance to rebuild her army of senshi, an army to rise up against us once more. The magic of the seal faded and we returned nearly two decades ago, to face Sailor Moon and her Court. It was Sailor Moon herself, the Heiress of the Moon, that succeeded in killing myself and the majority of my remaining officers."

A hand waved and she returned to the question she'd been asked. "There has been no sign of her return and I am led to believe she will not return after her own passing. Her soul was weak - through magic and sorcery mine was able to survive after death. She was not as skilled in art of magic as I am, having relied on her mother's crystal to save her sorry self. As for my Prince..."

Her voice trailed off and then she shook her head gently. "I do not know what became of Endymion. Perhaps one day I will find out. Until then, I intend to take my place as Queen of Earth, as it was destined to be before the Moon Kingdom's interference."

The hand moved from the air and rested on her stomach, rubbing it gently as she smiled. "I do not intend to pass from this world without a successor, however. Earth will have its royal family once again, in due time."

The room fell quiet, the officers mulling over the history lesson they'd just been given.

"Is there anything else, before we proceed?"

Another hand raised and she nodded her head.

"Rhodizite?"
PostPosted: Fri May 28, 2010 8:23 am

The pull of the Negaverse wasn't entirely unfamiliar to Rhodizite (He'd attended meetings before), however, the presence of the long haired woman before them, was. He'd never had the opportunity to set his gaze upon their queen; he was much more used to Ursula's presence than this... darker, colder presence before them.

He felt conflicted.

On one hand, he felt a sense of duty towards the woman in front of him. A sense of duty, respect and admiration he couldn't quite shake for inexplicable reasons. There was no use denying that, and it showed in his demeanor and the way he watched the woman as she moved and spoke to them, even from his kneeling position. On the other hand... he was entirely unsure what the meant for Ursula, and he could also not deny the the worry and concern that pooled at the pit of his stomach. He'd never asked her what this whole possession business did to her; it really just hadn't been his place. He was concerned and could not ignore the sense of urgency he'd felt when he'd spotted the long haired woman, standing up in Ursula's place.

Swallowing his conflicted feelings, the Lieutenant rose from his place to talk, "My queen... you talk speak about the fact we are under attack. You speak about our need to fight back. Might I ask whom our attacker might be? Is it the moon kingdom and senshi? Or were they.... affected by this too?" despite the fact the whole ordeal hadn't affected him personally (he'd been lucky that the few people he really cared about, aside his captain, were actually awake and well), he still needed someone to pin the blame for this on. He needed a target; someone he could see, someone he could fight.

He needed someone to blame.

"The epidemic that has struck the city was not a terrorist attack. The authorities will believe whatever is easiest to believe and feed the public whatever lies they need to to keep the masses satisfied. No, this was a spell and a powerful one at that."

Some Lieutenants appeared caught by surprise at the news, others merely had their suspicions confirmed.

"The entire area has been affected by the attack, but only Destiny City has been struck. Your focus is to kill the enemies of Earth. We have the Zodiacs still at large, which is baffling to me I might add, save for the one that Obsidian managed to exterminate. The senshi continue to awaken as each day passes by - if the Guardians are not taken care of, the problem will continue. Destroy the tree by the root and it will wither and die. If Kunzite has returned, it means additional Cavaliers will appear. Prepare for such and keep to the teams you were assigned. Once the others have broken free of the spell, I will see to it that new teams are formed to balance our new recruits. Until then, stick together and use any and all resources you have at your disposal."

Eyes drifted over to Wolframite, who had visibly winced while his fellow Lieutenant had asked his question. Her eyes narrowed, but he wasn't addressed personally, to his great relief.

"There is another enemy that has appeared, a sorcerer that goes by the name of Wiseman. Lieutenant Wolframite will be able to fill you in with details concerning his appearance. He is avoiding me - should any of you learn of his whereabouts, I want you to report to me immediately. If you choose to fight him on your own, you have chosen your own method of suicide. I will not assist those who seek out their own deaths. I help those who help themselves but not those stupid enough to run blindly into danger."

A hand flew up, catching her eye and with that, the subject was changed. "Lieutenant Graphite?"

Gabriel O'Leary, had, at the time of summoning, been chilling on Paul Wyndham's bed. Not by Paul's choice, though, Gabe had invaded and kicked up his feet on Paul's nice blankets and started rambling with him about What Paul Is and everything included. He'd asked about the scar he had when in jingle mode, had poked and prodded because Gabe was curious. Paul didn't really have an answer for him. The redhead had been puzzling over Paul for quite some time. When they'd met (over a terrible failing of his own, not being fast enough to outrun a Guardian cat--!), he'd known that Spinel's energy had been...big. Certainly almost the size of the Cat's, and as dark as his own.

At first, he hadn't questioned the fact as he knew that they were both on the darker side of the spectrum. But the more he saw him in his powered form, the darkness on his forehead, the crackle of a hole in his chest. The slight but ever present personality shift. One they all had, really. Gabe had at first been full of trepidation at the concept of killing. With the help of Spinel and Linarite, however, he was slowly filling in to be a passable Negaverse agent.

It wasn't the focus of his existence, not yet...but it was enough to nag at him when Beryl spoke of decimating Senshis and...stuff. He had been one of the last to fall to his knee, looking utterly baffled as he glanced around. He fell to it and kept his head bowed till he heard a chance to blurt his question. He'd barely let the Queen finish calling on him before he spoke.

"What about corrupted Senshi? If the Senshi are driven out in the end...are you going to get rid of the corrupted ones, too? What if they stay loyal?" A hint of concern had crept into his voice, eyes glancing around the room to find Spinel's form. He fell silent, biting his lip and toying with his lip ring. Hopefully he hadn't asked something really ******** stupid, because making a buffoon of himself in front of this scary queen of Doom was not his idea of impressing the superiors.

He bowed his head again, red locks falling into his eyes, waiting for an answer. Beryl's aura hung over him like the weight of Atlas' burden.

"Corrupted is such a crude term, Gabriel."

She was frowning, he was worried, but she shook her head and moved on, "No, Lieutenant, these senshi are our allies. As long as they remain faithful to our cause and support our Earth, I see no reason why they cannot remain with us. It would be cruel for us to turn our backs on those who aid us, especially when they've been forsaken by their own kind for doing so."

One hand stretched back and pointed in the direction of Sailor Nova's former coffin. "They go as far as to kill their own kind, even! They preach of love and purity, yet when one of their own strays from their foolish ways, the Lunars take it upon themselves not to help, as they say they do, but instead kill those who do not follow them. No, Graphite, you will continue to assist Sailor Spinel, he will not be leaving our troops, even after we win this war."

Another hand wave, another question dismissed.

"Kremersite, did you have something you wished to say?"
PostPosted: Fri May 28, 2010 12:34 pm

The fact the Queen had not quite told them whom was responsible for the epidemic had not gone unnoticed by Kremersite. He'd remain knelt down on the floor until the queen had spoken of teams; he recalled the fact he'd been told several times he should not be patrolling alone, and yet all he could think about was that the one Lieutenant he had worked well with was now in a bloody coma.

He stood when addressed, "Yes," a pause, "Our fallen peers. Those that are sleeping, my queen... what exactly are we doing to help them?" he was trying to keep the anger out of his voice; it was not directed at the queen, but rather, the world around him. He felt cheated, even if there'd been nothing he could have done to help, he still felt like he should have done something, anything, "Is there even anything we can do to help them?" he hardly believed hospital visits were going to be worth much at all. Specially not if this was, in fact, a spell, as Beryl had pointed out.

He bowed his head as soon as he'd spoken, a clear sign of respect, almost as if trying to prove that the fact he was practically shaking with barely withheld anger... had nothing to do with the meeting, nor the elegant woman before him. Her cold aura, was in fact, something he was focusing on; it was something he was using as a distraction of some sort.

He was going to punch someone on the way out, if there was nothing he could do to help.

Her smile in return was sympathetic, but her head was shaking.

"I know it is hard, Creighton. Despite how the Lunars portray us to be, we are human beings. We are capable of expressing emotions and we mourn those lost to us. We want to be there for those unable to help themselves. Your Captain has fallen under the spell - my General-King as well. So many friends and family members were taken from us by this magic, but I assure you, they will wake up."

One hand rose up to press against her chest as she continued.

"Until then, you must be strong for them. Sitting by their bedside does nothing for them. Fight for them, use your energy on their behalf, since they cannot do so for themselves. Harness your emotions, use them to your advantage. It's okay to be angry, it's okay to feel upset - just utilize your emotions and channel them into productivity. When the magic fades and they return to us, do we want them to see that we've done nothing but sat around? Or do we want to show them, here, look what I have done on your behalf when you could not! Show your Captain, Kremersite, what you are capable of while she is unable to assist you. Make her and your General-King proud that you were able to use their training without them being there to guide you. It will only be a matter of time before the spell is broken - time is all it takes and we can use that time wisely instead of wastefully."

Nodding her head, she pointed next to the blue haired Captain, whose hand had been the next to rise.

"Linarite?"
PostPosted: Fri May 28, 2010 3:39 pm

You never quite got used to the stomach-turning sensation of being pulled through space and form, but you knew that when it happened, things were serious. The captains had all been pulled together into the same place, at the forefront of the throng. Linarite didn't even give herself a moment to look and see who was in front of them. When Obsidian and Tanzanite both dropped to their knees, she followed. The blood on her friend's shoulder made her hesitate once she was down, amber eyes widening slightly at the sight of it.

When the queen's voice hit her ears with its honeyed tones, every muscle in the young woman's body went rigid. A reprieve had been granted by Ursula upon her good will at finding out about her expectant condition, but Ursula was not the queen. Beryl was the queen, and Beryl had delivered the ultimatum. But time passed, questions were answered, and it was all absorbed. There was only one thing that picked at the Captain's mind and conscience.

Jilted bride? Is that why they were all here? So now the bride had found a new husband and they were in charge of grabbing her dowry?! It was, in Linarite's mind, such a typically Ursula thing that she couldn't help herself. One slim, hesitant, white-clad hand rose into the air silently and her eyes finally turned up to the Queen of the Negaverse with a confused look in them as she tried so hard to hide her dawning realization that not everything might have been as she thought it was.

"Your Majesty, forgive me, but for some of us this is very important. When you ascend the throne as rightful ruler," when, not if, which was all very important, "the world will be better. When we eradicate the taint of the White Moon and their alien power, there will be peace? I fight for my friends, and for my family. I can and will slaughter anyone for this assurance alone. For your cause, majesty." Really, she was making it so easy. Linarite wanted, nearly begged, to be lied to. All Beryl had to do was simply agree that this was the path, and the blue-haired Captain would never stop - would go until death for only this cause.

But was it really their cause?
