The sun was high and bright, shining through the wispy clouds every time it got the chance. It was a perfect day by Kafil's standards, not too hot and not too cold, though it was rarely too cold for him. Heat, that bothered him. He could deal with any sort of cold, but if it was too hot then Kafil got in a bad mood really fast.
Well, faster than usual anyway.
Even on a nice day such as today, Kafil still couldn't find much worth doing other than lounging in the shade of a tree. He had just devoured a couple of young rabbits he had found, and was satisfied for the day in regard to hunting. He was supposed to be looking for more recruits for the pack, or hunting with the others to bring down some big game to feed the rest of the pack, but he couldn't quite get the motivation. Today was just a lazy day.
Ordinarily he would be eager to help out, but today... He decided that today would be his day off as he lay beneath the half-dead tree, barely awake. He had finally gotten his mind off the stresses of recent events, and he was going to take full advantage of it and get some decent sleep for once. Assuming nobody disturbed him.

Kelda`Hades, a lone Hyena in the roguelands wandered free of everything. Her green eyes glittered happily as she skittered about. She wasn't used to being up during the day, being more of a night ahwk herself. She yawned slightly, head leaning back, muscles twitching, urging her to stop, keel and snore. She fought it off, she hadn't seen water in a few days and it made her angry, she coudl not sleep if she didn't drink, whether her body wanted to force her not.
"Where in this damned area is a good watering hole!?" She growled unpleasantly, she missed her home, a long far walk form here, no where she'd go again, but no where she'd stop missing. Her memories floated about, flustering he ra brief minute and she stops, blocking out the world. Her mind floundering free of the memories, she hated daytime, wished it away, hated her past life, wished it away.
"I wish I wish, I have to do."
She murmured this and grumbled on, taking the walk now step by step.

Kafil flinched at the sudden voice nearby, growling softly for a moment before realizing that the voice sounded female. He sighed, his general desire to help and protect females in need forcing him to stand up and face the direction of the noise.
"Excuse me, miss?" He was pleased to see that the voice had come from another hyena. Maybe he'd get a chance at a new recruit, perhaps not, but the fact that he could go home and say that he had at least tried would put him in a good light for once. He rarely got the chance to say that he had really gotten anything done, even though he did try. Most days went by without any sign of another hyena.
"The watering hole is not far from here. It is just outside my pack's lands, that way." he nodded toward the mountains, "I can take you there if you like?" He offered, doing his best to sound polite. It was not a skill of his, but he was starting to get a bit better at not sounding too pissed off all the time. For some reason it was a bit easier with this female though, he wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was because of how beautiful she was? He could not say for sure.
